but- but i like potatoes.and potatoes are not sentient beings, therefore possess no ability to percieve feelings of 'like'. Also they are not exactly very social beings and cannot communicate well with other potatoes to develop deep affection/attraction for the other potatoes.
On the bright side: Potatoes taset great! And they dont scream out in anguish as you 'kill' them in the kitchen... eg: when you boil them in hot water, or when you are cutting them up, etc.
