Averin | 1962 comments i hate that I have spent a day and a half trying to get a powerpoint presentation done and one simple thing is holding me up. I downloaded the podcast and inserted but that puts the whole file in, it won't even let me start where I want to.

Does anyone know if/how I can clip bits of a podcast? All the instructions seem to be for an older version of iTunes.

Averin | 1962 comments What I hate about Mac's is nobody knows how to resolve an issue, unless they do and then only with heaping helpings of condescension & snark, and even then, maybe they don't know what they're talking about. I just spent the better part of five days learning how to convert & transfer my ebooks from my Lion MacBook Air to my new iPad mini, and still, Nook, Kindle, etc apps are making/moving/copying books all over my poor abused hard drive. Not to mention whatever it is that calibre is doing.

Sounds to me like yet another excellent reason for not buying/using MAC computers/tablets and being dragged down into that abyss.

Blue (or Black) Screen Of Death...

or so says Google. I've been using Windows since '95ish, and I've never had that happen to me.

Therese I hate trying to convert a Mac pages document to MOBI format.
I hate that I don't know how to search and delete paragraphs, since each paragraph for some reason makes exclamation points (!) when converted.
I hate that my Pages program is in German, so I have no idea what I'm doing and have to depend on my BF to come and rescue me.
Most of all I hate that this takes time away from reading. Urgh.

But I do like this group though.

Pamela (waterspout) | 7 comments I hate going online to chat with 1 or 2 people or view announcements for school because a lot of people I don't really want to talk to will start chatting me and I would have to reply back even if I'm busy cuz I don't want to seem like a snob. LOL.

Hi Therese, I don't know Mac Pages because I've always used Word, and although I spit, shout and thump at Microsoft's software engineers for a bunch of (view spoiler), I reckon Apple's are even worse—great hardware, inelegant and uncooperative software (possibly because they decided to call "programs" or "applications"—nice defined and meaningful words—"APPS"

Try Word! And I suppose you could always use Google Translate to tell you what your German manual is saying … ? :-)

It's the same really with Facebook. Start a conversation and how do you end it politely? Every time I think I've had the last word— hah! —the damned person at the other end, or worse an entirely new voice, comes back with another though.

Byeee!

Hi Roger, thank you for listening to your fellow human being:-).
This crap is what finally drove me to purchase Office for Mac now, so no more hate from me...

I have two Macbook pros and a macbook air and none of them have Pages on them because I've taken it off. As much as I am an Apple fanatic, Pages is the worst attempt at a word processor ever.

OpenOffice at OpenOffice.org is a free, open source office suite and its word processor is compatible with Word. I can easily take a document and using OpenOffice to save it in RTF (rich text format) for conversion by Calibre.

Sarah I hate that people on Youtube have to be so nasty. One person posts something on a page and everybody attacks them. It's crazy and it makes me sick to my stomach. I can't be the only one who feels this way.

Oh yes. This happens all the time on Huffington Post. It's extremely annoying!

That's why I never read comments. That way I don't get mad. I never read comments on any news website either. They are the worst. Oh my, Lori agrees :)

Bethany Ebert (heart77) | 117 comments I hate Windows 10 or whatever it is that my laptop is running. Why does it greet me whenever it updates? Why does it update all the time? What on earth could my laptop possibly need updated about it when it is already so perfect? Every other day, another update... I swear, someone at Microsoft is giggling their head off at the sheer sadistic joy out of causing millions of laptop users to wait ten minutes to reset their modems every other day. 50 Shades of Kiss My Left Butt-Cheek.

Your right butt cheek is exhibiting signs if extreme jealousy.

My Mac uses OS X and doesn't update with any frequency. I believe this is because the Mac uses the Roman numeral X and the Microsoft OS uses the Arabic numeral 10. This is a personal spat between the Arabs and the Romans mathematicians and I prefer not to get involved these lovers quarrels.
