M. It's not an extra service. I never paid anything and I loan books all the time

message 602: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (elainelaz) No Lisa, that's why I don't think I have it, its called Prime.. in the UK and I haven't paid extra for that, never mind

message 603: by M. (new)

M. Sometimes I'm so glad I made a US amazon account.

message 604: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lee723) Amazon Prime is just a perks thing, but the loaning books feature is free. The only thing is that some books do not have the loan feature.

♡ Sasha - TEAM ELLIE. ♥ (sashasberries) | 65 comments @ Lisa... yes... I noticed some books can't be lent..
Which sucks... do you know why??? I think I tried loaning a Sylvia Day book... and it wouldn't let me

message 606: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (elainelaz) Really, I go onto Manage my Kindle, onto the Book, then to the side of the page, it drops down actions and it says, deliver to my....clear furthest page and delete from library. I realise that I have to pay £48.00 extra a year if I want to sign up

message 607: by M. (new)

M. TTM has the loan feature so that's why I'm confused why Elaine can't lend it

message 608: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (elainelaz) whats TTM

message 609: by M. (new)

M. The Tied Man

message 610: by Maria (new)

Maria | 26 comments Lisa, you're right. On your Amazon account, you can loan books. But not all books can be loaned, I guess it depends on the publisher. It will show up as an option if it could be loaned.
There's also Amazon Prime. This you pay a fee yearly and you get free shipping and can borrow books from Amazon. But to borrow, I think you have to have a Kindle, not just a kindle app.

message 611: by M. (new)

M. Elaine, did you find the Actions button? I'm thinking you're not looking at the right place for it

message 612: by Melanie (new)

Melanie | 31 comments Elaine wrote: "I've tried but I think it's a service you pay for and I don't have that option on my manage my kindle, I'm really sorry."

If you don't have the option its ok I can just buy it. Your so sweet for trying :)

message 613: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (elainelaz) I haven't got a kindle, only a kindle app mines an Ipad so maybe that's why as well

message 614: by M. (new)

M. It doesn't matter. I don't have a kindle either. I use the kindle app for iPhone

message 615: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lee723) ♥Sasha♥ wrote: "@ Lisa... yes... I noticed some books can't be lent..

It's the publisher's choice. It's all due to territory rights, distribution, etc.

message 616: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lee723) Like Marta said, it doesn't matter whether you have a kindle or not when it comes to buying ebooks, reading them or loaning them - once the loan feature is available, that is. Very few things can't be done unless you have a kindle and that's mainly regarding any dealings with eARCs.

message 617: by Jess-i-ca (new)

Jess-i-ca (cotejb) Elaine wrote: "I haven't got a kindle, only a kindle app mines an Ipad so maybe that's why as well"

Free lending is only available in the U.S

message 618: by M. (new)

M. Are you shitting me?? Damn now I'm really glad I made a US account!!

message 619: by Maria (new)

Maria | 26 comments Elaine, I think you're doing it right. If the loan option is not showing up in actions, then you can't loan it.

message 620: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (elainelaz) It's not showing on any of my books, so I just don't think I have that option unless I pay for it in the UK it tells me that

message 621: by Maria (new)

Maria | 26 comments Elaine wrote: "It's not showing on any of my books, so I just don't think I have that option unless I pay for it in the UK it tells me that"

I'm in US. It does sound like you have to pay in UK just to lend to others.
I think I paid $80 for the year for the Amazon Prime, but I have an IPad so can't borrow books from Amazon.

message 622: by Farah (new)

Farah | 115 comments OMG Marta!!!
I'm at 85%

message 623: by M. (new)

M. DID YOU FREAK OUT YET??

message 624: by Farah (new)

Farah | 115 comments Omg!!! Where is shee???!!
Oh no!
I'm STILL freaking!

message 625: by M. (new)

M. How about 75%? Did you freak out there too? Most importantly: DO YOU LOVE MY CORRADO YET? Lol. I'm not sharing!

message 626: by Farah (new)

Farah | 115 comments Shit I was! Why because he vouched for her then stood up for Carmine when her shot his sister?

I still love Carmine!

message 627: by M. (new)

M. I love Carmine too, but Corrado is my man lol. Yes all of that too, but jut his personality too, ya know.

message 628: by Farah (new)

Farah | 115 comments Bad ass!
Everyone's scared of him!
Poor Nicholas :(

message 629: by Keighley (new)

Keighley (keighleytypoqueen) | 12 comments finished on every street last night and LOVED it, KH did a great job making you see different side of Javier, so hes not justa panto villian for teh next S&N. Shes a crafty bitch, toying with our emotions! lol. Think I need to re read S&N to remind myself of the Cam hotness.

Have to say, I saw KH post about a lot of readers disliking Ellie in S&N, which I didnt get. But she annoyed me in this, I was squealing at her to stick to her guns, or tell the truth, or make some kind of decision for herself. But again, charcters arent supposed to be 'good guys' and 'villians', all these characters are flawed & possibly irredeemable.

and I know ^ filled with typoses but cant seem to go back to fix it

are you guys talking Sempre? careful with spoilers, I still have to read this book and really want to

Ooops!! Sorry! Yes we are cos I'm reading it.
Don't read the posts!

message 632: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (elainelaz) I'm not sure what the time scale was from when she runs from Javier and meets Camdan. But in that time she changes from this sweetie innocent young girl to a much more upfront feisty women so I presume things she does in between does change her in that time. It will be interesting to see if she is still that feisty girl in Shooting Scars and when she's back with Javier or if she reverts back to sweet Eden again

message 633: by M. (new)

M. Farah, just edit your post and put spoilers there. Keighley, sorry if we spoiled anything. You should read it ASAP! We'll be here to discuss right along with you :)

As far as OES goes, I think it makes a huge difference whether or not you read S&N first. A lot of people forget about S&N and what went down when they read OES. I love Ellie in S&N more too. I hate her in OES, because she's such a lovesick 20 year old puppy. I mean, I'm 20 years old too, but I'm not that much of an idiot. I'm glad her relationship toughened her up and changed her into the Ellie we know from S&N. And I'm glad she somewhat softens up to Camden

message 634: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (elainelaz) How's in going Farah what percentage are you on with Sempre

message 635: by Farah (new)

Farah | 115 comments Yip.. We wait and seee! Unfortunately :(
Tick tock counting the days

message 636: by M. (new)

M. Elaine, as far as I can remember she meets Camden 6 years after she dumps Javier's ass.

message 637: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (elainelaz) Right so in that time she's harden up then.. Of course 6 years..

message 638: by Keighley (new)

Keighley (keighleytypoqueen) | 12 comments dont worry ladies, didnt read anything spoiler-ish. I may read Sempre next week, every one says its amazing. I read the prologue & it scared me, too intense, you know? i need to MTFU and get on with it

message 639: by M. (last edited Mar 15, 2013 02:48AM) (new)

M. Keighley, the prologue sets a very dark tone, but trust me, the book/story itself isn't like that.

Elaine, yeah, she left Javier feeling heartbroken to the core. So I think that helped to become heartless. And then she spent 6 years scamming people and perfecting her cons. So that helps too. Damn, I love Ellie post-Javier. With all the cons she's pulled and all the people she's gotten away from (being on the run constantly. she's manned up alright!). Hard to imagine she was such a sentimental girl when she was with Javier.

message 640: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (elainelaz) Yes me too. I love that type of women in a book and I hope she continues in SS :)

message 641: by M. (new)

M. I think she's smart enough to continue that way. Once you go bad, you never go back! LOL

message 642: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (elainelaz) Lol, how's the Tied Man buddy read going

message 643: by M. (new)

M. Going good. Lots of hate towards Blaine, but we already expected that one lol

message 644: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (elainelaz) I've just read an update and the hate or that women.. You what I don't think any book character has ever made me feel like hurting them lol

message 645: by M. (new)

M. Yeah she's pretty damn evil. The worst part was that she showed no remorse whatsoever. Like I couldn't grasp the fact that she had no emotion at all.

message 646: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (elainelaz) Your right, no remorse, I'm loving this book I'm reading now Heron Park, the writings really good

message 647: by M. (new)

M. Oh I'm glad. I added it on my TBR shelf. I'm surprised it only has 12 ratings. It's been out since december 2012. Btw, Elaine, don't you work? lol.

message 648: by Elaine (new)

Elaine (elainelaz) Lol, you'd think I didn't wouldn't you. Yes I do but I have Fridays and the weekend off. I'm an office manager for a large sofa company in the UK. I'm quite good at checking me phone for updates etc but I wouldn't have time to read a book that would be pushing it. So book day today!!!
Yes I know not many ratings, I'm only 9% and bloody hell.. It's like WTF so hopefully this one will work. I don't mind the sweet fluffy reads topped with some erotica, but I like the ones that take you out of the box but more than that I want a book with a story..

message 649: by M. (new)

M. I completely agree with you on the last part! I'm so tired of the same old romance stories. And books that lack a story get 2 stars from me, unless they're fucking hilarious and I don't mind the lack of story because everything else is so brilliant. I hate plot holes too.

Oh damn, you're lucky with the Fridays off. I wish I could be having a reading day :( real life always gets in the way. I tried reading last night, but I knocked out while reading. Woke up this morning and noticed I was still wearing my clothes, the lights were on, the iPad was still on my lap and I had food next to me on my bed. Smh... Something's going wrong here lol.

message 650: by Melanie (new)

Melanie | 31 comments Did you see in S&N that the reward flier had Ellie's photo that was taken while she was in Palm Valley coming back from the park when she was getting her plan to scam Camden together. That was obviously done by one of Javier's men so why not grab her then?

All that time that passed maybe Javier was watching her con other people....hmmmm

Book 2 can't come quick enough
