Hello, I'm Hannah. I love reading manga, both shounen and shoujo. My favourite manga series's would be Fairy Tail, Deadman Wonderland, and Death Note. I have read much other than that. I started reading manga last year, and I'm really enjoying it. Could I say I'm an otaku? Well, as for that, maybe not yet. I'll need to read more manga and watch more anime. :P

Hello!! I'm Tawanai! I'm new to this group.I love anime and manga, and all anime music, and I love playing videogames, and soccer.
Hi, I'm Ashlei & my first love was Bleach b/c it made me realize how good manga can be. Then Full Metal Alchemist made me cry like a little girl, it will always be in my top five. Kekkaishi was wonderfully written, I missed the characters when it was over. I loved Soul Eater from the start(I love girls kicking butt), it also made me cry not just @the end but a few different times, especially Crona's character. Death Note; does anything really need to be said? I already liked Durarara then I found translations of the light novel & I'm still working on it but it is much more intense than the regular manga.Anyway, I know I am being long winded but none of my friends likes manga or anime so I am so happy I found this group.
Thaks,
Ashlei

What's up? I'm Summer. I've been lurking for a while, but felt social today :pI'm a library youth assistant and leader of a local anime club here in TX.
One Piece is hands-down my favorite anime/manga, but I'm also really fond of Fairy Tail and Lupin the 3rd. I just recently got into Naruto, and so far I'm having fun with it.
Nice to meet you!
Welcome to the group, Summer! Have you read Lupin the 3rd or watched some of the anime versions? I've dabbled in the series a bit and while I enjoyed what I watched and want to see more, dang, those never ending series are so daunting to try and get into. Do you have any suggestions for where to start?

Serene wrote: "I've dabbled in the series a bit and while I enjoyed what I watched and want to see more"If you're unable to find a copy or scans of the first volume of the manga, then the best place to start is Hayao Miyazaki's Lupin film "Castle of Cagliostro" ... the beautiful thing about the Lupin series is that once you've established who the characters are and what their professions and personalities are like, you can basically jump anywhere in the series you like. After Castle of Cagliostro, I'd watch the Lupin movies and made-for-TV movies. Only once comfortable with how those work and what to expect, jump into the TV series.
The manga itself is good, but Lupin, I think, is a character that just translates better on the screen than on the page. I prefer watching Lupin to reading him.
That's my two cents, anyway. :)

      Hello,I'm Nishanth.
I started reading manga a few months ago when I accidentally opened up the Mangafox page for Death Note (I was just searching for a certain english dubbed episode of the anime)
Currently I'm reading Naruto, and am nearly finished with Part I. I'm also reading Bakuman and Mirai Nikki(Future Diary). Believe it!
Yo! I'm Brandon. I first got into Shounen manga after watching Dragon Ball Z and realizing there was a manga for it. Since then I've added hundreds of manga and Japanese light novels to my collection, and not just the mainstream ones like Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, and Fairy Tail. I've read some eclectic manga (at least I think they're eclectic), such as A Certain Around 30's Delusions, A Fairy Tale for the Demon Lord, History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, Girls the Wild's, and a bunch of others. I'm pretty excited to be here, since I don't know a lot of people near me who love manga as much as I do.

Heya! I love anime and actually know a few people who love it as much as I do, but I've still yet to find someone as obsessed with Fullmetal Alchemist as I am :P.It was pure fate I got into manga/anime. One day my mom -yes, my mom- approaches me in the library and says "you like that Japan anime stuff, right?" *hands me Deathnote manga vol. 1* "I found this over there."
I had no clue what the hell she was talking about (I knew anime was a thing but didn't even know manga existed) but hey, why not read it? And a beautiful friendship was born. Oddly enough, my mom thinks anime's weird as crap.
Hi Eva, welcome! Your comment made me laugh b/c my mom thinks anime is weird ad crap too, lol. Fullmetal Alchemist is in my top 5 of all anime/manga, & my list is quite long, so I am a huge fan myself. Its just such a beautiful story. :)

Hi Brandon, welcome. It is nice to find a place where other people share a love of manga. I just read your post on favorite characters & I loved it. Shounen is almost definitely my favorite genre of manga, but I like all kinds. I hope you enjoy the group.

Hi I'm Aylin. I have loved manga and anime for a long time now. My favorites are Fairy Tail, Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist, Sword Art Online (and season two GGO), and Death Note. I've also read (and watched) Bleach, Soul Eater, One Piece, Tokyo Underground, Flame of Recca, Durarara, Kaze no Stigma, Rozen Maiden, Attack on Titan, kill la kill, Rurouni Kenshin, and probably some others that I forgot about. I've always liked shounen better than shojo, I usually watch more anime than I read manga mainly because the public library doesn't have a lot of manga. ;;Anyway I'm really excited to be in this club and meet new people who like manga and anime too.
Welcome Aylin! I prefer shounen to shojo as well, more action. Btw, I love your name & the way it's spelled.

Yoooo! So im a big ol' otaku like the rest of you, i basically love anything anime/manga related. Ive read/watched: kill la kill, blue exorcist, death note, bakuman (its actually pretty good tbh), soul eater, fairy tail, attack on titan, sword art online, and im planning on a whole lot more! Outside of the anime/manga area i also like regular american comics and im a big fan of once upon a time. Also i play skyrim a lot and i also play a bunch of first person shooters, mainly titanfall and halo. But thats all irrelevant. Anyhow, its nice to meet you im frankie and im obsessed with kill la kill. I look forward to possibly communicating with you guys further after this and i hope you have a nice day/night. Also, any suggestions for manga to read?
EDIT: upon actually reading other ppls welcome posts i realize im not as alone in liking bakuman as i thought. How bout that.

Hi! Anime and manga are my ani-drugs. They help me unwind. I enjoy reading about what others with similar interests are watching and reading. I read a lot of sci-fi and fantasy when I was younger (and currently). Manga and anime have been a great addition for me. Watching a light anime before bed helps me to sleep. So, I am always looking for ideas for these sleep aides!

As far as shounen goes my favorites are Cross Game, Yotsuba&! (one of our current group reads), and Claymore (although this is really more seinen in subject matter/content).
