"Like a Lampshade in a Whorehouse" is 75% fiction. Miss Diller came up with what she thought readers would latch onto---This book did not have to be full of untruths; it could have been very pleasantly about her career if you had asked her at a younger age. Sherwood Diller was not unemployed and he was a normal, intelligent man from an excellent family. Phyllis once said that her career was so much fun that it wasn't even like "work." Her children were raised by Sherwood's people and they are all good, everyday people. Sally did suffer forceps damage that left her with some brain damage and dysfunction, but she was raised at home until much later and was fine as a person can be with diagnosis of schizophrenia. Her family has been hurt by this senile book. Shame on you readers for assuming it is true....What confusion. If she had written earlier, it might have been fun, entertaining, and mostly true.
