Yeah thats the hard part.
Oh, I must have payed over £20 in library fees in my life. The thing is they don't charge late fees when you're under 16 so when I turned 16 it was such a shock to my system, I just couldn't bring them back on time. Now three years later I try and be good, but mainly because I have set it up so they email me a few days before it's due to remind me.

I am terrible too and I used to send those letters demanding money out . Oops !!
I hear ya...I try so hard to not return books late because I know that I hate waiting for a book that I desperately want to read and the person that has it out brings it back late....So I always feel guilty when I take a book back late!!!

But I really try to make it right, because they have a horrible punishment: they don't make us pay a fee, they "ground us" to being unable to request a book for a minimum period of a WEEK. :O I am currently in the middle of a grounding session. =/ *hangs head in shame*

Aprox £1 per day late for each book. I had to pay over £20 when returning a single batch of books on at least two ocassions while I was there.
It seems I am not alone then! I find it so strange as I am super organised and rarely late, so to consistently give library books back late, it boggles the mind!!!
I haven't borrowed from the uni library. Firstly there isn't a fiction section (none that I found anyway) and also I haven't needed books for my studying. The library is so huge though, I have probably seen 2% of it.

I would be soo lost if I couldn't request a book!! Our library is really good...as long as the fine is under 10 dollars you can pay in installments and they still let you borrow books!!!

Our library is fairly cheap so I am not complaining.
So is mine, it's something like 10p per day per book, but if you've got say 7 books out and they are a week late, then you will get £4.90.
Though a few months back they did this thing where for some unknown reason they cleared everyone's fines and I took full advantage of that!

Lol...yea they do that here too when they update the system...wish they would do that now.....sigh....10 dollars in late fees because of my stupid memory :{

I now have about 5 library books awaiting reading from the list. Oooooohhhhh.........

OK ... guess I'll be changing that one. Sorry you had to read it, but thanks for the heads up!

You are welcome. Honestly I thought it was dreadful.

It was about a 90 year old lady called Hagar who lives in Canada. She has dementia and lives with her son and daughter in law. She keeps having flashbacks to her youth. She is an obnoxious person and seems to feel nothing for her so called loved ones. The writing is very dry and the author had a nasty way of just shoving in new characters without explaining them first. Really pointless and boring.

Interesting but not for me. I can see the talent but it did not grab me.

Thanks time for something easy...
