Amy Sepulveda (belleandbooks) | 8 comments Hi guys!

I'm Amy, and I'm looking for some ideas on how to promote my new book, Just Another Smudge In the Dark. It's a collection of poetry about the bliss and struggles of being a teenager and how hard life can get for anyone, even those who seem to be incredibly happy. It's available at barnesandnoble.com, amazon, and lulu.com

If any of you have some good ideas, I'd love to hear them, and I'd love to check out some of your work as well! I also like beta- reading, so if anyone would like to contact me, I'd be happy to help you!

Its called The League and it is set in a modern day Melbourne and some of the surrounding areas. It is a cross between urban fantasy and SciFi. I am currently beginning my promotional campaign and publishing the sequels and side stories that are part of the book's universe.
Anyway, heres the title for the Kindle search: The League (The Post-Humans Book 1)
I use my author website to blog about where I am with my writing and other things I am doing with my time. Feel free to check it out.

Sophia Newtown (sophianewtown) | 1 comments Hi, everyone :)
My name is Sophia, pseudonym - Sophia Newtown.
I've recently published a pdf version of my book on my website, it is available for free for three days only!

Right now I want to get several reviews, then I'll proceed to printing my book with hard-cover :)

http://sophianewtown.wix.com/worlds#!...

So...

It's called "Evelyn, a fairy-tale of a misanthrope with rich imagination who fell in love", and frankly, the title says it all.

My blurb reads:
"An enchanting little tale. Unique blend of funnies, sarcasm, fantasy and serious philosophy."

It is merely 110 pages long, and has dialogues and illustrations (Alice would love it! ;) )

Thank you for your attention :)

Fiona Bagley | 1 comments I love to write but I am NOT the greatest marketer of my work : ) I really need to get my act together and start finding ways to get my novel, Parsons Green, out there! It was a quarter finalist in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel of the Year Award which was a nice boost.
Anyhoo - pitch below : )

When sixteen year old Cricket McLean heads to Savannah, Georgia with her widowed mother for the summer it comes as no real surprise to her when she starts seeing ghosts. Savannah is, after all, one of the most haunted cities in America and Cricket has been able to see spirits her entire life. When Cricket takes a part-time job as a tour guide at historic Chartwell House she begins to have visions of a young servant girl, Catherine Harcourt, who was executed in the late 1700's for the brutal slaying of her newborn child. Cricket cannot get the young woman out of her mind and wonders what would have caused her to commit such a horrible crime.
With the help of a retired local historian and a not very intuitive 'psychic', Cricket sets out to piece together the events which led to the night of the murder. Things start to get a little more complicated for Cricket when she meets Liam Chartwell, the handsome and almost annoyingly good-natured teenage descendant of the original owners of the house.
But Catherine's ghost isn't the only spirit wandering around the beautiful but decaying old home. As Cricket gets closer to discovering the truth of what really happened so many years ago, she finds that someone or something is determined to make sure that a very old secret is never revealed.
Spanning two hundred years with the beautiful city of Savannah as it's backdrop, Parsons Green tells the story of love and loss as it is experienced by two girls separated by the centuries.

I self-published my book in June and did some promoting here and there, but since then my day job has taken over much of time. I want to get back to promoting my book though and I hope that some of you may be interested in checking it out. I just joined the group and look forward to checking out other self-published authors. I'm currently between books (reading that is) and am looking for something new to read.

Please check out the description and link to my book below :)

For Lena this is her chance to search for the father that deserted her so many years ago. For Kinnsey it is the opportunity to find the excitement and adventure her life sorely lacks. And for Izzie? This is her summer to run away from the truth she has been trying to hide. Three best friends embark on a road trip that will test them in ways they couldn’t have imagined. It is a summer of possibility, of love, and most importantly, of self-discovery.

Angela Landrigan (angelalandrigan) | 2 comments Hi all,
I'm searching for like-minded people who want to empower our next generation of scientists and creative thinkers. As a research immunologist and mother of two, I'm always looking for ways to simplify complex information. That's why I decided to write Rose's Superhero Birthday: An Immune Cell Treasure Hunt.

Rose's Superhero Birthday is an innovative children's book that helps kids (ages 4-10 years old), parents and caregivers learn together about our immune cell superheroes!

The book follows Rose (an inquisitive 7 year old girl) and her friends through the joys of childhood, including treasure hunts and self-made theatrical performances, all while illuminating some of the deeper complexities of the immune system.

I created Rose's Superhero Birthday to empower young girls in science as well as inspire the next generation of curious minds. You can see my own 4 year old really engaging with the content in the video!

Learn more about the book and some of our super cool companion pieces on Kickstarter at http://kck.st/1WN9Phk

Anyone else out there ever use Kickstarter to launch a book? I'd love to chat. :)

Louis A. (louisaaffortunato) | 2 comments Hey guys, my debut novel The Midnight Stand is currently available on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014...

"They were able to transform the world in a matter of years. They molded it to their will and created a new world order. It happened so fast no one had a chance to stop it. The ones who cared could only stand by and watch as all traces of the old world began to disappear piece by piece.

They are the Council and they will stop at nothing to fulfill their plan, even if that means murder.

Now the only man left of that previous world is Harley Jacobs and when he receives a letter from the Council telling him to vacate his home he must make a decision that will change his life forever. Does he protect his family and leave or does he stay and make one last stand against the people that took everything away from him?

The first part in a multi-book series, The Midnight Stand introduces us to a harrowing view of a not too distant future that raises the question of what it truly means to be an individual."

If you're a fan of dystopian science fiction definitely give it a look. Also if anyone is interested in doing review swaps I'd be down for that.

Thanks :-)

Julie Tulba "She had traveled around the world to find a home, and it took a full circling of the globe to realize that she always had one." Traveling from the quintessential Parisian cafe to a tango club in Buenos Aires where tourists are typically persona non grata, through the maddening situation of feeling “lost in everything” on the streets of Seoul, the stories in this collection all touch on one trait that many of us share when we travel — self-discovery. No matter the country, culture, or language, self-discovery is what all of the characters in these stories experience, but more importantly, they develop realizations about themselves they never would have were it not for travel.

Full Circle Tales of Travel and Self-Discovery from Around the World by Julie Tulba

I published my first ever book last year, "Full Circle: Tales of Travel and Self-Discovery from Around the World." For anyone who likes to travel, or wants to travel, my book is for you. It's a collection of short stories and each story takes place in a different location around the world. You will definitely be inspired to book a plane ticket by the time you finish reading Full Circle. It's the type of reading that will induce wanderlust. The talented Candace Rose Rardon also did the beautiful illustrations for it.

It's available on Amazon in both print and Kindle:

Extract:

In Sickness and Health
She looked at me with such pain in her sunken eyes and whispered in a hoarse voice “ I feel so ashamed”.
“Six years ago we said ‘in sickness and health’”. I whispered back, looking into her eyes, stroking her face, still so beautiful in spite of everything, and said as reassuringly as I could, my voice shaking as I fought back the tears, “Nothing is too much trouble. Nothing”.
We held each other and sobbed. It was the worst moment of my life and hers too I think.
It was also the best.
She had become too weak to go to the bathroom on her own and of all the slings and arrows of sickness, this robbing of her dignity was one of the worst for her.
There was one thing worse. Something that weighed so heavily on her, in spite of her constant efforts to remain positive and strong, and that was the terrible realisation she would not get to see her children grow up. This, of all things, was too painful to bear.

Here is the plot:
Sixteen-year-old Fallston "Falls" Hughes harbors dreams of escaping from his lackluster home and social lives, to play his favorite video game (Of Battle) on the professional circuit. When league insider MrNiceGuy offers Falls a position on an emergent team, he jumps at the chance, only to find himself ill-equipped to deal with the dog-eat-dog world of professional gaming. Waking up from the dream, Falls finds manipulative teammates on one side, and downright hostile opponents on the other; Falls realizes, over the course of one O.B. season, that he has not been invited to play at war, but rather, he is living in one.
Set in the near future, Of Battle delivers a complex portrayal of its fictional online sporting league, examining how it looks from the inside, the outside, and the hectic middle.

Lauren Jessen | 1 comments Hello! I just found this group and am excited to learn more about people's self-published books.

My sister and I released our first self-published book in August about the Congressional Award program called 'Youth's Highest Honor: Your Guide to Earning the Congressional Award and Building Life Skills.'

Here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/Youths-Highest-....

The Congressional Award program was created in 1979 to teach kids invaluable life skills through participation in community service, personal development, physical fitness, and expeditions/explorations and to honor kids who excelled in these fields. Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals and certificates are awarded by the United States Congress.

As Congressional Award Gold Medalists, we wrote Youth's Highest Honor in a guide format to share the lessons we learned as we worked toward earning the highest award that youth can receive in the United States. Participants who earn their Medals receive them from members of Congress. This program is a great opportunity for young people as it encourages them to get involved in their communities and learn how to set goals.

If you have friends or family with children ages 14-23, this is a great program for them to get involved with.

The timeline switches to the modern day where the quite calm of a north Hampshire village is shattered by an outbreak of murder and unexplained violence. A group of strangers are thrown together and struggle to survive in a world where every living creature is a potentially lethal foe.

Donna Carbone | 4 comments The seed for Through Thick and Thin was planted nearly nine years ago after my daughter became the victim of sexual assault. Since then I have worked tirelessly with other survivors and the experience has been memorable in more ways then one. Through Thick and Thin is my way of teaching -- not preaching -- about staying safe. Wanting to reach a wider audience, I decided to write a series of crime novels using real events, colorful characters and Palm Beach County as focal points. Through Thick and Thin is the first in a series of Cat Leigh and Marci Welles crime novels and is available in paperback and for Kindle through amazon.com.

Teaser: Although written under one title, Through Thick and Thin is actually two distinct books. The prologue and epilogue, set in 2006, cover the tracking and capture of the Kalendar Killer who murdered five people in public places under brutal circumstances on national holidays. The main portion of the book, set in 2007, see Cat and Marci responding to the scene of a possible murder on a closed beach. They discover that the victim is a lifeguard who was loved by many women and hated by many more. The investigation reveals that, at least, 800 women have been laid and played by the victim and each is a willing subject in a book his ex-wife has written about her years of marriage misery. At the same time, a series of rape/murders takes over the headlines. As Cat is a rape survivor, her perspective is a valuable part of the investigation. The book is based on the real life friendship between two strong women, my daughter Jessica (Cat Leigh), and the other the CSI, Mary Bedwell Bain (Marci Welles), who helped to capture Jess’ attacker.

As you might already know, every fairy tale starts with "Once Upon a Time". And, let me tell you, so does this one.

Thousands of years ago, in a magical world far away from ours, something happened. A young, powerful half-Spirit known as the Master, with the desire to rule the world with dark magic, challenged the Spirits of Light to face him. When they denied, he unleashed a thousand-year war - and won. He locked the Spirits whom he'd defeated away; but not for long... The Spirits had a plan.

When sixteen-year-old James Riverdale takes home a mysterious book, he and his friends come to a shocking conclusion; the dark fairy tale described in this book is real, and they're playing a part in it. It is their mission to save the magical world of Lunaria from the destruction the Master's rule has caused. The only way to do this, is to travel through the world and restore the balance between dark and light...

Feel free to join James and his friends on their quest to free Lunaria from the Master's reign.
But beware: once you've entered, there's no going back...

--

It's the first book in the trilogy, and when I began writing it three years ago, I actually didn't intend on publishing it... But when I got positive reactions from people on DeviantART, who I'd let read a couple chapters every once in a while, I decided to do so anyway.

The book is available on Amazon, in both paperback and kindle format.

Matt O'Grady | 2 comments Hello everyone,

I am very happy to let you that the new book Living Gratitude: A Simple Path to Happiness is available on Amazon.

I want to take a moment to thank you all for helping me complete this project. It’s been a 5+ year labor of love, that wasn’t always easy, but because I had people like you in my corner, as family, friends, colleagues and clients I was able to follow through.

So, now my new mission begins: Getting out there and letting people know how easy this practice is to start and how life transforming it can be if we practice it daily.

Every Living Gratitude book sold on Amazon will have a portion of it to help these kids. I hope you’ll celebrate and join me this wonderful holiday season by practicing Gratitude in your life and helping others by buying a book or a few for family and friends. Here is the link to do so. http://www.amazon.com/Living-Gratitud...

I know that if we have a more grateful world, we will have a happier, kinder, and more beautiful world.

Will you join me? I hope so. You have an open invitation, today, tomorrow and anytime in the future. Gratefulness, giving back, and paying it forward are always available.

May your life and those you love be full of joy, happiness and success.

Thank you all.

Tom Savage (tomsavage) | 1 comments Hey guys,

My debut self-published novel 'Tracks in the Smoke' was released last year and has gained some traction since I changed the cover in November.

'Tracks in the Smoke' is a classic private investigator novel with unique contemporary components, strong female characters and a protagonist with an unusual and troubled past. The case revolves around the ruthlessness of today's music industry.

Would love people to check it out and let me know what they think.

Thanks so much,

Tom

I truly believe my books can change the world and how people see the life around them So far everyone who comes to Seekers isn't disappointed.
All my life I've always done things differently then everyone else, I always follow the soul I have and the God I believe in, and lets face it God's not normal, he always does things and asks us to do things we don't understand but being loyal and with love I did what I was asked to do, create a Child/teen Book Series that tells about him, the things to come and how his children that follow him. Well after 10 years I have done just that What I have may seem small to do and looks like it may not last but if you had all my books you would see Seekers is growing rose that gets bigger and more powerful by each day.

S. Sawyer (sawyer1211) | 5 comments Hey y'all! I'm Stephanie, and brand new here. Self promoting is tough, right? So I love the fact there is a group dedicated to helping self-published authors. Indie authors have to stick together. For anyone interested, I would be more than happy to promote your books on my blog at www.bubblingwip.com. Just send me a message.

I just released my debut book in January. Mellie: A Story of Vinyl and Candy

Melanie Woodward has everything going for her- great life, loving husband, and two incredible kids. But Mellie is a tormented woman struggling to find reason in the madness of her past. After years of battling with her demons, she becomes convinced that she only has one option left- to write the story of what really happened. She has to confront what happened with Thomas Scalia.
Through old journal entries and writings she recounts a realm of hard hitting beats filled with shimmering candy kids in the underground rave scene, a descent into self-harm and drug addiction, and the escalating violence of her DJ boyfriend, Thomas. In writing her story, Mellie will find peace one way or another- through the pen or through the blade.
