Bullets Dancing in the Rain by Douglas Morrison.

I have just published the second part of my Noir / Sci-fi / Dystopia series concerning the gun shark Johnny Jewel.

As always, I would appreciate you extending the effort to have a read of it. It is two short Novelettes and the follow up to Seventeen Words for Rain. Although reading Seventeen Words is not necessary, it would not hinder either and is also two short novelettes.

The book contains:

Floor Twenty, Room Five

When a mob-run card game goes wrong, someone has to clean up the mess and, of course, leave a trail of bodies with a good line in excuses to explain it away.

Six Fifteen on a Saturday Night

In Johnny's younger days, we found out how he made his name and covers one night in the life of Johnny and his crew of killers.

Any effort extended in reading these are appreciated, and I have included links below. Both books are also free on Kindle Unlimited if you have spent your book allowance for the month!

Regards,
Douglas Morrison

Petru Leu | 1 comments Hello everyone! As a life-long dreamer and world-builder, I’ve spent decades constructing my admittedly insanely detailed multiverse, and I am happy to finally release the first book set within it! It’s a fantasy/SF hybrid that’s first and foremost a work of love.

Here’s a blurb so you can get some idea about what it’s all about:

The stars are long gone and everything is dying.
The last bastions of Light have fallen into Shadow.
After countless cycles, time itself is coming to an end.

The last Fall brought about the collapse of many advanced civilizations and an end to an era of high technology. The world is experiencing a dark age, but remnants of past glories still linger. Not all knowledge is lost and countless ancient artifacts remain, but history has turned to myth, and technology to magic.

Among the survivors of this fallen age, the heirs of the Children of the Light still dream of a time of Rebirth, the rekindling of the stars, and the rebuilding of the Realm of Light. Yet their noble houses, having long fallen under the dominion of the Chaosborn, squabble among themselves, lost in their petty games of politics, while ancient entities of power direct them as pawns.

Innumerable interests and schemes clash, as a final age of tribulations and war is about to begin.

After decades spent on building one of the most complex and detailed universes found in fiction, and the planning of an intricate tapestry of plots, the epic saga of the Song of Revelation is ready to begin.

The Song of Lost Light is a tale of war and love, of ambition and abomination, of damnation and redemption.

It is the story of the last world at the end of time.
------------------------------------------------------------------
That's my amazon book description. The novel is around 210k words. It's a work of love, the result of several decades of universe-building and long-term planning. It's got everything from action and epic battles, to politics, romance, even perhaps a bit of horror, and of course countless mysteries. I've had more than enough time to add many long-term intertwining plots, and I delight in using a “plot within a plot” system, so all the readers who love complexity and theorycrafting will have a lot to think about… and don’t worry if you don’t, the book should still be fun on the surface level… no need to bother trying to understand what’s really going on, revelations will come along the way, meanwhile just enjoy the action!

So, if you want to experience a fully realized universe, one with eons of history behind it, detailed cultures, constructed languages, etc… look no further! This is the first book in my attempt to bring my universe to print, hopefully, one of many more to come. I fully encourage you to use amazon’s look inside the book feature to get an idea of what the book is like… I hope you will enjoy the Song of Lost Light, and the stories to come!

Ajay Nair | 6 comments One Woman, Two Lives is an Award Winning multigenerational saga set in late 18th Century Southern India. It follows the struggles of the women in one family as they fight to deal with the oppression of the caste system imposed on them, both by society at large as well as from within their own family. When a tragic betrayal results in the death of her sister, suicide of her mother and financial ruin of her father, young Bhavani will have to rise above the expectations and traditional role imposed upon her in order to take revenge and restore honor to her family’s name.

Nalinavilasom Bhavaniamma, Ajay’s great-grandmother, inspired the creation of Bhavani in One Woman, Two Lives. Growing up hearing stories from Nalinavilasom Bhavaniamma about the “untouchable era” days sparked empathy in Ajay toward what earlier generations had experienced, as well as opened his eyes to what women were still fighting. Ajay, himself, witnessed many times where low-caste women and men were treated differently and he never understood why. The weight of Nalinavilasom Bhavaniamma’s stories stayed with him as he grew older, and he knew he needed to share this story. Everything from Bhavani’s fighting instinct to her deep love for family was inspired by Nalinavilasom Bhavaniamma.

Real Reason for PRE-LAUNCH of ILLUME(Click Here)?

We have something interesting for readers like you!

Illume, Ashes and The Wind

I am pleased to introduce my recently finished fiction novel, "Illume, Ashes and The Wind", of 100,000 words. This is the first in a planned series and will be available soon.

In summary: ILLUME is Almighty’s greatest creation and the ancient name of Earth. It combines an immersive world with early Vedic Gods and humans with fast-paced writing, a distinctive map, and a diverse cast of characters. It tells a story of Illume shaping the world's ancient human civilizations, beliefs and religion (early-Vedic times). It includes myths that are mostly not covered and presents folklores with a twist.

Though witnessing the illustrious reign of the Manus(Surya and Indra) and the Remazans, Illume remains in anarchy. The Shuras of Sanctum, Barbaxes of Magnetum, and Siltharas of Halcum were created by the Almighty's children(Ancient Gods). But their inter-race rivalries wreak havoc. Things become grim when Danav, the God of all evils, emerges from Almighty’s wrath before the Gods abandon Illume. For thousands of years, his army remained trapped in the evil land of Pathala and surrounded by their mother Danu. But all was going to change!

Aryan Manu, the chosen bearer of The Golden Sword and the rightful heir to the Shuran throne, escapes slavery. Mentored by the wise Ved Vidhyesh, he must accept his despised ancestry and travel a turbulent journey of betrayals, wars and hate to liberate the ancient cities and find unexpected friends. On the other hand, the young Ricmar Remazan, a Silthara with equally lustrous ancestry, journeys through a mystifying forest to claim the legendary armour from the Vanars. But Illume is a world ready to reward and punish them for the smallest of mistakes, and it is a world that forces all their relationships to shatter.

Aryan and Ricmar endeavour parallelly for unique but distinctive causes. How would history take their unique encounter? And can the legendary armour and sword, mysterious tribes, ancient Vedic creatures, and mythical books save Illume? Especially when in desperation, the ruthless Barbaxes have unleashed a dark power. The dangers were never greater as Danav has risen again!

What would become of the world of Camelot if King Arthur and his twelve knights were women? This gender swap of a tale will break your heart and pump rage through your veins.

In the depths of Camelot, 17-year-old Arthelia Pendragon is on the cusp of becoming Queen.

In a land once buried under male rule, there are kingdoms still hanging onto the old traditions of the realm. Lords and Ladies fighting to keep their power, family plotting in the shadows, and a barbaric war on the rise, will it be too much for Arthelia and her knights to handle?

She’ll do whatever it takes to keep her people safe, no matter the cost. Will she succeed, or will her moral compass land Camelot in nothing but smoke and blood?

Being a woman in the middle ages is no joke. But the one thing you can guarantee? The ones who’ve wronged her will bleed.

Marie Sinadjan (mariesinadjan) Hi, everyone! I'm Marie and I just recently self-published my debut novel, which I co-wrote with my friend Meri Benson.

HOTEL FEN is an urban fantasy novel based on Norse mythology. Set in the present day, it tells the story of Victor, a young American professor, and Silje, a Norwegian nurse, who both unexpectedly acquire free trips to a vintage resort hotel in the Scandinavian mountains. The longer they remain together, however, the more dangerous the hotel becomes, with their pasts — as well as their old friends and enemies — coming back to haunt them.

Andrew Milner (andrewmilner) | 2 comments Between the Two

This is my fifth book published this month.
Between the Two is a romance, a will they won't they. A story of finding your dream only to lose it. Is it possible to find it again?

What happens when you fall in love, just live happily ever after? Sometimes, it's just not that easy.
David watches ‘The Bird-Lady’ feeding the seagulls. It is love at first sight, only when he goes looking for her she has gone. The next night, he meets Molly but even then his thoughts are still firmly focused on ‘The Bird-Lady.’
After a chance encounter with Louise, aka ‘The Bird-Lady,’ he invites her to share a romantic weekend away in the Lake District where they both experience deep feelings for each other; the problem is, neither of them tells the other. At the end of the weekend, he returns to Molly ready to build a future whilst Louise returns to her husband and a crumbling marriage.
Two years later they meet again. The old feelings are still there and this time they take the opportunity to tell each other how they feel. Torn between the two, David has a choice, but as he leaves with Molly, his heart breaks and he watches Louise walk the other way.
Will he ever see her again?

Gary Westphalen | 1 comments When an undocumented immigrant happens upon a bucket of gold sitting in the back of an open armored truck, while the man charged with guarding it is distracted, he seizes the moment - and the gold. That's a true crime that forms the foundation for my third novel, Breaking The Weak Link.

But the story breaks wildly out of control from that point. Before it is over, nearly every member of the crime ring, numerous armored truck guards, uncounted civilians, and even the FBI agent investigating it all have their lives hanging in the balance. Every turn of a page reveals new twists and turns in this story that doesn't reveal it's biggest secret until the very last page.

"What an incredible whirlwind thriller!" hails Author and book reviewer Anthony Avina. "...a must-read drama of 2021."

But when Kal encounters a young boy whom he suspects might be an illegal earthborn, he can’t bring himself to report him. Despite his training and the advice of friends, he decides to help him onto what he believes is the right path. Meera Vyas | 1 comments Hello Everyone!

I am Meera Vyas, a published author of the book Śirā Ragata and the Abandoned Child which falls under a genre of fantasy fiction. This is a first part Of Śirā Ragata series.

“Śirā Ragata" is a story of two sisters, trying to find the man who murdered their father, but instead ends up in mess of "World Creation."

(Blurb)

“Power is never evil or good. It’s the man using it.”

The world has never been kind to people possessing power beyond human belief. And it was neither forgiving nor accepting to the witches in 1692, when thousands of women met the cruel fate of being handed to an incident referred to as the Salem Witch Trials.

To save themselves from this fate, true witches hid their powers and their bloodlines. And so had Amaraya and George to save themselves and their two beautiful daughters, Raylina and Ablina. But little did Amaraya know that it’s not possible to change destiny. Losing her husband, George, to the hands of a mysterious conspiracy, Amaraya again goes into hiding.

But now it’s the 20th century. Amaraya and her daughters, Ablina and Raylina, have come out of hiding, returning to their ancestral home in India to hunt down the man who killed George.

With every story comes a villain. And the villain of this story is determined to destroy everything that comes in the way to become an ultimate power on Earth. But how do you fight a villain when you don’t even know who the villain is. Nevertheless, the future resides in the hands of the Bayer sisters, Ablina and Raylina. They must unite to protect the people they love for the future that resides in their hands.

Will Ablina and Raylina harness their power and strength to destroy this evil force and save the world, or will Evil conquer all?

I Hope you will add it in your TBR list.

The Road to "L"
'Crystal Blue! No Crystal see through'
It was a steamy hot London summer’s day and just walking to the car you could feel the sweat forming on your body. I immediately thought oh well it might be hot, but having this lovely looking woman in the car for an hour would at least make the heat bearable. Little did I know what was in store for me, to make matters even hotter. We approached the car, I opened the passenger door to allow her entry into my car (yes, always a gentleman) and I received a huge lungful of her overpowering perfume. I think it was Chanel No 5, but she must have put the whole bottle over her entire body as the smell was overbearing. She was wearing a cheesecloth light brown see-through dress and I know it was see-through as I could see everything or rather nothing. She wore no bra or knickers and yes, I really could see through it. She definitely believed in ‘going commando' and revealing all to the world. I wonder what the reaction of the public was when she walked down the streets dressed in this manner. She placed her seat belt over her body and into the locking mechanism.
‘Isn’t it boiling today?’ she said as she swished up her dress to fan her legs revealing she wore no underwear as if I hadn’t already noticed that fact.

Steven Blackmore (happy-to-read13) | 2 comments The Hole in the Wall by Steven Blackmore Hello all Good-Readers, hope you are all well!

My first novel, THE HOLE IN THE WALL, is available for pre-order on Kindle.

A LOCKED-ROOM MURDER MYSTERY… BY WAY OF A LITTLE TIME TRAVEL.

Moving into a new apartment, Thomas William finds a hole hidden within a painting that affords him a view into the adjacent apartment…

… and of his neighbour Amy Porter.

The funny thing is, Amy is missing and presumed dead.

Thomas lives in apartment 1d. Depressed, broke, with a reputation in tatters, the once published author struggles to find inspiration for his next book. Amy lives in apartment 1e. A nurse, she is strong, independent and optimistic for the future.

Thomas and Amy are neighbours, just at different times. Connecting them is a hole in the wall, a window in time, one-way offering Thomas a view of the past (Amy's abduction by a masked intruder), while the other, the future (his own murder at the hands of the same masked fiend).

If Thomas wants to survive, he must explore the dark world of a stalker's obsession (easy enough), solve Amy's mysterious disappearance (somewhat harder), and ultimately solve his own murder before it ever happens (no guarantees).

Original and unique, this utterly addictive, mind-bending murder mystery will grip you until its final, shocking twist.

Thanks all.

The book is based on my experiential rendezvous with a punishing, restless, relentlessly tiring mind. No more gurus/one month/seven day/seven hour/seven minute courses. No more rewiring or retraining of my mind. Mind? What mind? I hope that readers will benefit from this thin book, a mere 60 minute read, and live happier peaceful lives. Through pain, sadness, excitement, understanding and indignation, the stories leave you with a feeling of solidarity as you daily wade through the struggles of living and striving to thrive in a dynamic country with its fair share of inequities.

From student to worker, child to adult, woman to man; these stories are relatable. The hope in the words give you the comfort of knowing that your silent daily struggles are a common denominator of middle class Africans, and the reality in the lines show that every new day can be better than the last.

A book trailer on Youtube for my book Clochan has just been released. It is available at: https://youtu.be/-QNxRQVovtk
We hope you find the trailer entertaining. Comments are appreciated.

Brief Description: The youngest Neal boy fails to bait a Púca to fight. In this coming-of-age story, he learns too well what it costs when monsters are unleashed.
Young KEVIN NEAL fails to bait a Púca to fight. In this compelling, heartrending, Irish coming-of-age story, he learns too well what it costs when monsters are unleashed.
Decades before the great famine, the boy survives the war, but believes he has lost everyone. When he locates a childhood friend—Anastasia Kelly, he learns that she has become aloof and part of a different world. ANTY is as much a stranger to him as the tenants around an abbey by the seashore. The orphans try to hide from the past, but the violence encircling threatens what little they have left.
Can the orphans survive the wake of an Irish rebellion and the troubles unleashed? And, how does a boy fight a thing that tears apart the living and cuts through bone, without alerting a corrupt gentry and the sheriff’s men?
Lawrence P. O’Brien’s character-rich debut novel is a gripping, historical adult fantasy steeped in folklore, mystery, adventure, and romance. Clochan is an exploration of friendship, loss, and loyalty on a journey well-worth taking.

Oliver Theakston | 2 comments Hello everyone, my debut book St. Elmo's Fire is set during Ferdinand Magellan's circumnavigation of the globe.

1519, the earliest years of European colonialism.

After years of planning, Ferdinand Magellan is finally ready to plunge into the uncharted oceans of the New World in his search for a mythical strait and the untold riches beyond.

Joining him is Juan de Morales - a physician desperate to break free from the ghosts of his past. But de Morales' hopes of a new beginning are quickly dashed as he discovers the web of treachery into which he has unwittingly entangled himself.

From the windswept tundra of Tierra del Fuego to the searing emptiness of the Pacific Ocean, St. Elmo's Fire is a descent into the madness, mutiny and cruelty of the first circumnavigation of the globe.

You can find it on Amazon (in print and ebook) and it is included in Kindle Unlimited.

M. Price (mpriceisdead) Hello there!

My name is M. Price, author of the Edgelord Extravaganza PLEASE FEEL BAD I'M DEAD. I wrote my novel to be an emotionally driven satire on mental illness in America and self-published it on Amazon. You can find my author page at Amazon.com/author/mpriceisdead or just check out my Author Page here at Goodreads!

Please Feel Bad I'm Dead by M. Price
Literary Fiction, Satire

Jhaegar Holdburn is a forlorn teenage edgelord who constantly attempts suicide and finds himself continually failing due to last second blunders. His desire for death comes from his often frazzled, often incoherent mind and how it fuels the way he’s ostracized by his peers as well as how he's been made a pariah in the current social climate. At last the opportunity arises, Jhaegar manages to commit suicide using a foolproof method, and after years of despair he finally dies…

But not quite...

Jhaegar is instead resurrected…as he will always be resurrected. He finds the one thing standing in the way of sweet death is his uncanny inability to truly die and that his suicides result in increasingly stranger and psychedelic realities, irreversibly made worse by his ever deteriorating mind. He discovers the only way to break this cycle of death and rebirth is to uncover the real root of his problems and find his own personal sense of happiness, as well as to unravel the esoteric tangle of his own repressed psyche.

But, with his grasp of reality slipping away by the minute, will Jhaegar have time to save himself from his own self-destruction?

Roger Jr. | 1 comments Hello! Hope you guys are doing well! I published my first book last week called "Celestial: Crusader & Quickster"! It covers genres like superheroes, supernatural, fiction, romance, and coming-of-age targeted at young adults. I want to be the type of author who can produce better writing with every book release. So I really appreciate you taking the time to read this! With that being said, here's a synopsis of the book!

It's the second week of high school in Divine Academy as their first annual Crystal Ball comes near! Jimmie Davis wishes to ask out his crush Genesis Madrid, the friendliest student in their first-year class, despite being recognized as a klutz due to his clumsy personality. But one day after school, after an encounter with a mysterious old man, they both receive jewelry that emits magical superpowers used to fight against evil. With the Crystal Ball approaching, can Genesis and Jimmie handle their newfound double lives as masked vigilantes and teenage students? Can they defeat a colossal threat that may destroy Central City? Can Jimmie ask out the girl of his dream? This is the origin of Crusader and Quickster, the birth of many adventures to come!

The book? Tangier Gardens.

This is a typical Moroccan medina water fountain that, in Tangier Gardens, CJ was planning to study. Why?

Because these beautifully tiled fountains were local community nodes for daily gathering of water to use at home. Everyone felt and knew the importance of water supplied by these beautiful fountains.

In Tangier Gardens CJ documents his attempt to study these community landmarks--and the strange challenges he faced.
Today, Tangier Gardens ebook is FREE.

Edward Flaherty (flahertylandscape) | 33 comments Les Arômes du Maroc

Mimosa and narcissus.
Balancing, cleansing, energising, relaxing, uplifting…we can all do with some of that.

Acacia dealbata–it grows like a native in the northern third of Morocco; and, in spring, you can always find its cut flowers, fresh from the bled (countryside), being sold by Rif ladies in Tangier.

But CJ had another take on mimosa when he got this close to it.

CJ reckoned when you get this close to a flower, it is because the flower has invited you. That invitation is the key that unlocks a portal–a paranormal portal.

Don’t believe me? Read his story, his take on plants in Tangier Gardens.

Alyssa Tearse (alyssatearse) | 2 comments Dark Waters is a dual point of view story about trauma and mental illness, and learning to navigate and fall in love with someone who suffers from severe depression and suicidal ideation.

Harlow and Jakob grew up together in Minters, a small city where everyone's dirty laundry and business is on display for everyone else. They meet years earlier, both trying to tread the waters of their own lives and overcome their own traumatic events in adolescence. Years after both have graduated and seemingly tried to move on, an impromptu house party in the quiet back drop of the city and an (almost) tragedy forces them back together.
