Hi, I am a new self-published author. I am a member of the Author's Guild and ALLI (Alliance of Independent Authors). My bio is as follows:

I have been spinning tales of fantasy as a writer since he was 13. His first stories dealt with imaginary worlds where people got along and good always conquered evil. Think, "The Hobbit." He became a published writer during college, and later went on to become a journalist and crime reporter for several newspapers in NYC. At one point in his life, he aspired to write and sell screenplays until all the catch-22 situations of pitching and securing Hollywood agents changed his direction more toward independent filmmaking. He wrote, produced and directed two short films in the 90s and later decided to put his ambitions into self-publishing. He loves spinning tales about hot topics blended with the surreal, such as hypnotic time travel and femicide, to dealing with the loss of a pet or loved one, to children going for joy rides in time machines. He's also an avid fan of reading and writing comic books.

I'm new to this group and like everyone I am just trying to find those readers that might like my book.

It is called "Theocrates and the Crystal Cavern."

It is a Sci-Fi / Fantasy / Adventure novel.

It is the first book in a trilogy about the planet Terexia.

Theocrates, or Theo, as he is known to his friends, is minding his own business when he begins hearing voices.

The voices turn out to be a communication from another planet that is in danger of being destroyed by a cosmic rift in space.

This rift also threatens Terexia.

The voices tell Theo that there is a way to save the planets but he must journey to a place called the Crystal Cavern, where technology exists that can save both worlds.

As fate would have it, the Crystal Cavern is a restricted area and, so far as Theo is aware, no one had been there in over seventy years.

The book begins with Theo heading off to petition the ruling council to allow him to go to the Crystal Cavern. But will they even believe him? Or will they think he's insane?

The story was pretty quick, with many twists. Though it keeps you involved, it is something which you want to keep aside. The story builds up slowly and soon you realize that it is building up to something big. The book is not predictable. Most of the times, when a conflict was going on, readers was not able to anticipate the next page. It is something which can hold your breath.

It also brings to light certain key topics like loyalty, companionship and the battle to banish evil from our minds.The language of the books is modern, everyday and very simple English, which makes it easy for any reader to relate to.Near the end of the book, when actual conflict happens, it happens too quickly in a matter of a few pages. Though soon you see that there is more to come in the sequels.
