Let's start deciding then. One thing at a time. :)
First of all, we need a general theme to model the group around. This could be book related or character related or generally anything but it should be popular. Ideas??

Well you talked about harry potter theme that is going on in the other group. we could go with something simmilar, i.e. hunger games? tbh im not very good at thinking up themes :/ Or we could focus on a type of YA i.e. science fiction, steampunk, new releases (popular and not) ... and then next year we can move onto another theme. Or we could do an around the world theme. either read a book from an author in each country in the world or a book from each country that it takes place. any of these work?

Also i did get an email from a new author and he was wanting to give each member in our group an ebook copy of his book that he just published. What do you guys think?

I like the idea of changing the theme every year. And i also like the around the world theme. I had a few ideas like maybe story retelling thing or camp half blood from the percy jackson series.

I was thinking the Genre idea you had was very good. Like we could decide on a genre, say, fantasy and make it a general group theme for three months(?)
Popular fantasy books for BOTMs
Fantasy Series Read-a-thons
Interviews of the authors whose books which we would be Read-a-thoning( for want of a better word)
Popular Fantasy series related challenges
Chat regarding the members fav fantasy books. Discussion on fav characters ...
Games based on Fantasy books etc.....
We could also email Goodreads authors who write mostly Fantasy books for Read and Review copies if available.

How does that sound?
Of course Fantasy is just an example. We could also do these genres:

Historical Fiction
Classics
Science Fiction
Steampunk
Mythology related (Percy etc)
Roadtrips

etc etc

kinda like the themed BOTM categories.

After three months, we switch the theme to another genre.

How does that sound? We could try it for a month first and see if it works and member participation increases.

Okay, so the group has not been active. I think the group makeover is a great idea, we just need to figure out what to do. So, the next 2 months i am off school. I just need some opinions and such and i can do the rest if you are busy.

Hey. I'm really really sorry that our conversation kinda tapered off there. I had exams that lasted way way longer than I thought they would so I haven't been on GR at all. I just saw your message. So, here's the thing. I have a short vacation till July 20th when my college starts again and I might get busy. But for now I'm free. I'll help us much as I can till then. After that we'll divide the responsibilities but I just wanted to say that I might not be able to do much then.
As for the group makeover, give me a day. I'll make a list of all the things we need to do, things we might need to decide on and get back to you. We can divide these to-dos among us too. 24 hours. I'll get back to you by then ;)
