Matt Schiariti Ghosts of Demons Past by Matt Schiariti

My debut paranormal/urban fantasy novel, 'Ghosts of Demons Past' is out for kindle NOW. Only $2.99. Not sure if you want to take a chance on the new kid on the block? The kindle sample contains the prologue and the first seven chapters.

Blurb:
“Well, Mr. Gabriel. What do you know about…demons?”

For most people, that’s a question that never comes up. Medium Seth Gabriel isn’t most people and for him, it’s another normal day in an abnormal life.

It’s bad enough that his love life has seen better days but his personal problems are only the half of it. Seth’s ghost hunting business, SG Cleaning Services hasn’t seen a client in weeks and he’s desperate for a paycheck. Things look up when two potential clients seek him out.

Courtney Reeves hires Seth to investigate a paranormal disturbance in her home. On the surface it’s a run of the mill cleaning job but when you deal with the dead for a living, there’s no such thing as routine. The close of the case is the start of even bigger problems and Seth will find that, while there’s nothing to fear from the dead, the living are another story.

When the nervous and persistent Evan Gallagher enters his life, Seth sees the promise of a big payday. There’s only one catch. The wealthy lawyer thinks his wife is possessed by a demon. Seth doesn’t believe in demons…not anymore, but the money is too good to turn down. Is Evan crazy or is he one hundred percent sane? As Seth digs deeper, he’ll ask the same question of himself.

For a guy who’s coasted through life on not much more than Greek takeout, tequila, and attitude, Seth’s going to have to dig deep to survive what will turn out to be a very bad week.

Dean Mayes Gifts of the Peramangk

In 1950s Australia, during the height of the divisive White Australia Policy, Virginia, a young Aboriginal girl is taken from her home and put to work on an isolated and harsh outback station. Her only solace: the violin, taught to her secretly by the kind-hearted wife of the abusive station owner. However, Virginia's prodigious musical gift cannot save her from years of hardship and racism.

Decades later, her eight year old granddaughter Ruby plays the violin with the passion Virginia once possessed. Amidst poverty, domestic violence and societal dysfunction, Ruby escapes her circumstance through her practice with her grandmother's frail, guiding hand. Ruby’s zeal attracts the attention of an enigmatic music professor and with his help, she embarks on an incredible journey of musical discovery that will culminate in a rare opportunity. But with two cultural worlds colliding, her gift and her ambition will be threatened by deeply ingrained distrust, family jealousies and tragic secrets that will define her very identity.

Debra Edwards | 6 comments Out now! YA Paranormal at just $2.99 or £1.99!

How would you handle the dead? After losing his dad, 17 year old Marvin finds he can see and talk to the dead, an inherited 'gift'. Bonus, you might think, but Marvin hates it. It makes him different and he just wants to be 'normal'. He meets Stella in the graveyard that backs onto the house he's just moved into. 'My name is Stella, Stella McCartney. It says so inside my trousers.' (!?!)
A mysterious business card reveals that Stella has lost her memories and all signs point to Moghador, a gateway to hell where a pawnbroker holds the answers. And Stella is DEAD! She just doesn't know it... yet!

David Haskell (daviddeanehaskell) | 33 comments Hello all. This seems like an appropriate place to mention my new technothriller, Too Much Information, for sale on Amazon for $4.99...

In an era of terrorism and pandemics, with constant threats from differing but equally destructive sources, Thermo-Magnetic Imaging machines represent a seemingly perfect solution. But as privacy and health concerns grow ever more complex, this cutting edge technology delivers more than anyone had bargained for. While the forces behind the scenes fight to conceal their true agenda, the public struggles to cope with a new paradigm so invasive their innermost secrets are laid bare under its powerful lens.
Rob Folsom is a civil liberties activist, a staunch defender of privacy rights. Rosa Perez, a government agent specializing in surveillance, seems an unlikely candidate for him to represent. As Rob is pulled into her world, a world of high-tech spying, corporate intrigue, and black ops government agencies, he becomes caught in a perilous game of cat and mouse. Nick Wale | 5 comments "A dazzling new mystery from bestselling writer Cliff Roberts..."

Author Cliff Roberts broke new ground with "Reprisal: The Eagle Rises," now he takes us on a brand new adventure filled with mystery, intrigue and murder!

Tyler Stone plans the perfect murder. Tyler Stone makes mistakes, but does he make the "Fatal Mistake?"

"Fatal Mistake" is an addictive, page-turning mystery novel that will keep your pants on the edge of your seat.

Special mention must be made of the inlay design. Titles are off kilter, not because we made a mistake, but for artistic reasons.

For generations, the Frost family has run the Museum of Magical and Rare Artifacts, handing down guardianship from mother to daughter, always keeping their secrets to “family only.”

Gathered within museum’s walls is a collection dedicated to the Grimm fairy tales and to the rare items the family has acquired: Cinderella’s glass slipper, Snow White’s poisoned apple, the evil queen’s magic mirror, Sleeping Beauty’s enchanted spinning wheel…

Seventeen-year-old Bianca Frost wants none of it, dreaming instead of a career in art or photography or…well, anything except working in the family’s museum. She knows the items in the glass display cases are fakes because, of course, magic doesn’t really exist.

She’s about to find out how wrong she is.

This weekend sees the end of the summer price reduction, tomorrow the price returns to $2.99, so grab it now for only 99c while you still can!

"I found this an absolutely intriguing concept and loved the name the author gave to the entity - Misty Felice. (Say it to yourself a few times. It's cryptic but it's a give-away!) I loved the way the entity was able to twist the desires of inadequate people and make them believe that it, she, could grant them those deepest wishes. Isn't it what we'd all like? One or two of its victims were greedy people but most were unhappy and needy and I felt for them. Sarah Mitchell is after it though. Can she succeed? The story, though perhaps a little involved to the computer layman, was written believably and the action carried me onwards. The ending, while a satisfying ending to this story, was also a beginning. I look forward to more in this series."

Germanio Puglio | 18 comments I am writing to promote my ebook. The title is "Lost at Sea", by Germanio Puglio. It is completely free until the 17th of July. If you are a fan of historical romance, and are female, I feel this is appropriate. The link is http://www.amazon.com/Lost-At-Glassy-....

Here is a description:

"Lost at Sea" is a novel which follows the lives of a young, modern treasure-hunting couple, as well as the life of a seventeenth-century teenage girl, Emma, who is accidentally deserted by her father while their cargo ship is raided by pirates. Emma is forced to live with a ship full of buccaneers for two months. She finally escapes them and gives birth to a child conceived during her unwilling confinement. Both stories end with the protagonists finding eventual happiness, contentment, and prosperity. Includes 53 chapters, with a description of 17th-century Port Royal. Contains some mature content. Recommended for age 17+.

Excerpt: "Captain Fontaine rubbed his eyes in disbelief. Coming through the choppy waves were about a dozen canoes. The were dangerously rocking back and forth in the water. The men in the canoes began shooting at his ship. A few of the crew of the Anne-Marie were shot with muskets, and fell into the water. The crew that was still alive quickly pulled up the anchor, so that their ship could flee. As they toiled, the mainsheet and brace were shot away, and the ship turned helplessly into the wind. Feeling that they had no choice, the sailors began to raise a white rag next to the French flag that rippled above them in the rain and wind. The Anne-Marie had surrendered."

It is 203 pages, and was fun to write! You will be entertained on your kindle or laptop for free!

REVIEWS:
"The latest in Wendy Leighton-Porter's series is yet another exciting, humorous take on a much-loved tale. I have read every one of the adventures with my daughter and we are avid fans. In this instalment, Max surprises all (including himself) with his heroic antics - no longer quivering in the corner, he rides bravely into battle with full armour! King Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot, Merlin, the evil Morgana and the formidable Saxon army leader Aelle - there is no shortage of wonderful characters. The author always succeeds in delivering us with a fascinating lesson in history without us even realising it and this book is no exception. A very fun read and we will be awaiting the next episode in anticipation!" (A. BRADSHAW)

"The latest in the series which mixes a present day adventure with ancient myths. My granddaughter and I have been waiting for this one and it does not disappoint. The usual characters are seen in a new light and I laughed out loud when the baddie, Aelle, is terrified of a cat!. Do read it and enjoy it too."
(MOIRREY)

"We all love King Arthur. Merlin too, and our kids are going to love this latest novel by Wendy Leighton-Porter as the Lancelot twins, their loyal friend Charlie and loveable Tonkinese cat end up in Camelot in the ongoing quest to find Mr and Mrs Lancelot lost somewhere in the past without the magical key that Jemima now guards with her life. Max the cat comes into his own in the battle to save Camelot from attack by a cat-phobic Saxon King, helped by a feminine black feline appropriately called Midnight... A thrilling take on the Arthurian legend, and beautifully written!" (EDDIE NESSUNO)

Chris Bostic (chrisbostic) | 11 comments My full length young adult novel, Fugitives from Northwoods, is on Amazon for only $2.99. It's an edge of your seat thriller about escapees from a dystopian future America.

http://www.amazon.com/Fugitives-from-...

Here's the pitch:
Eight teenagers escape imprisonment at a work camp to brave the wilderness. Tested to their limits, they struggle to survive their terrifying dash for freedom.

After the total collapse of the world economy, the United States could not stand together. So they failed separately. In the small region-state of Winnkota, poverty and greed are turning the idyllic Northwoods of Minnesota into a barren wasteland of clear-cut forests and over-fished lakes. Every able-bodied teenager is conscripted into a labor force and sent to work in harsh, prison-like conditions. They are enslaved young so they never learn to think for themselves. But Penn is different. He's determined to win back freedom—for himself, his friends, and someday for his homeland. On a cold autumn night, the group makes their dash for freedom north of the border. The fugitives endure a series of difficult wilderness challenges while pursued by the ruthless camp guards. They weave through dense forest, scale cliffs, swim through the bitterly cold lakes, and otherwise try simply to survive. Pushing his friends to the breaking point, Penn guides the fugitives through a harsh, but ironically beautiful, backdrop of amazing Northwoods scenery. Adversity and loss abound, all while an unexpected physical attraction leads to a burgeoning love story. Should any of them survive to reach the border, will the freedom found equal all that they expected?

My name is Kait Neese and I am the creator of this wonderful group of ours! I work full time with my publishing firm and work this Goodreads group as a side project because I really do love the concept of authors being in charge of their own success. However I have a responsibility/duty to my direct authors and my employers to make sure that comes first - which I am sure you can understand.

I have so enjoyed watching this group grow and authors around the world coming together to help one another out. So a big thank you to everyone out there who is taking their success into their own hands and realizing other authors are not the enemy and that working together will take you so much further than working against one another. (Ok ok end of cheesy moment, smile)

I posted a thread a few months ago about what three things matter most to you, as an author, that a publisher could do to help you out. Really help you out. I had some great feedback and really appreciate the comments made! (The post can be found by clicking here: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...)

That being said I noticed a few authors mentioned distribution as something they would like publishers to help out more with. I do quite a bit of traveling to international book fairs and specialize in helping authors and sm/medium sized publishers “go global”.

I will be hosting a webinar on book rights (translation rights) and distribution into China on August 6th at 2:00 pm EST. I wanted to give my appreciation and gratitude to all of the authors in this group for their continued dedication and participation on these threads so I thought this might be a really cool thing to do. (Free of charge of course : )

Please see my latest thread for more information on what we will be discussing and how to sign up here: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...

Hope you can make it!

Failing grocery store manager Larry Prescott just wants a quickie. With a frigid wife waiting at home, Larry decides to have some extramarital fun with an employee named Maxine Watkins. Though he has no way of knowing it, Larry is sowing the seeds for a crime spree that will be dubbed “The MegaSaver Massacre.“

The Check Out is a satirical thriller that will appeal to fans of Carl Hiaasen and Christopher Moore. It is the story of a $10,000 giveaway, and the employees who independently decide to heist the money on the same night. An ensemble piece, each chapter focuses on the motivations and actions of a different main character. Larry Prescott is an arrogant drunk whose affair quickly spirals towards danger. Maxine Watkins is a scheming liar, determined to claw her way out of indigence. Terrence Claybrook, the assistant manager, is an escaped convict trying to keep his past from catching up to him. Roland Tillman, a blood thirsty fugitive, reunites with his former cellmate during the MegaSaver robbery. Brad, an addiction ridden stocker, tries to turn his life around while picking up the pieces of a broken marriage. They each see the prize money as their only lifeline, and are determined to do everything necessary to grab it.

One cannot escape their fate, but their path may be altered, potentially resulting in a different outcome. Some consider it divine intervention, or a miracle. Others consider it to be coincidence or happenstance. In some cases both are true, but there are always exceptions. Mere seconds can prove to be crucial components when the result of one’s fate is hanging in the balance. Often times a minute amount of influence is all it takes. Planting a seed of doubt or inspiring hope when all seems to be lost...
