Robin (ukamerican) | 106 comments How does this happen? I searched for the ISBN for Venus in Winter and it comes up with a book that has the wrong title and author but the right cover. The ISBN can be found for Venus in Winter on the publisher's website: http://www.us.penguingroup.com/nf/Boo...

But if you Google the same ISBN, a bunch of results for this "Conversations with Capote" come up too.

How are we supposed to handle this?

Bea And on Worldcat it brings up My Lady Bess by Gillian Bagwell rather than her Venus in Winter title.

That's probably the same book with a different title, possibly the UK release. Venus in Winter is about Bess of Hardwick.

Leslie | 1 comments I just added a new version of Jules Verne's Around the World in 80 Days published in 1981 by Watermill Press. Its ISBN is 0-89375-608-3. (I have the book in my hand.) I added the book at the link below.

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17...

When I tried to add the ISBN number, I received a notice that the ISBN already exists. The ISBN has the same title and author but says it was published in 1997 by Troll Communications. Around The World In 80 Days

Robin (ukamerican) | 106 comments Still no advice on this? Should I be contacting GR directly instead?

Emy (emypt) | 5037 comments Re 2 ISBNs

If adding both at the same time, the older of the two gets the ISBN.
If a record is on the system with the ISBN, then that one retains it. Add a new record without ISBN for the second book, and add a note to both records to link between them for reader convenience. Also add a Librarian Note for quick reference for us :)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 1368 comments Hey mods! I was just trying to add a new edition to a book I have read (Keep Calm at Christmas) but it there is another book in the GR system with an identical ISBN number. It isn't a different edition to my book, it is a completely different book called Keep Calm and Carry On. They are part of the same "series", but are most definitely not the same book. I have the physical hard edition of Keep Calm at Christmas here so know I have the ISBN number correct. What should I do? Ta.

Thank you very much Koenraad! That was helpful.
