The macarena can do wonders if you're really focused and you don't know any spanish. :) It seriously helped me w/ nano once. Plus I was using write or die, so I had extra motivation to type fast.
Which actually reminds me... at my cousin's wedding this summer, her husband made the playlist, and there was all sorts of music... including french rap.

Wow, looks like I didn't used to listen to music while I write. Now I do it all the time. And I have a lot more music. :D haha

Same here. Sometimes, I can push the music to the back of my mind and it helps my writing flow. But sometimes it's just too much and I can't think with it. :P
All the time, but it has to fit the topic and can't be so loud i can't think.
I like my music louddd. Except some days I just can't get in the flow of it and it messes me up … Also, nothing too catchy or I start singing along. XD

If I'm really focused on writing, absolute silence works the best for me. If I get really in to it, I don't even notice anymore because I'm so absorbed. If there are other people around, I find that listening to screamo (with headphones, of course) helps me to concentrate.
I do that all the time. Mostly Nancy Drew soundtracks and Thor 2: The Dark World soundtracks On YouTube.
I agree!!! :D
