Sydney I got this book, and I wanted to read the first. Could I read this one first without spoiling the first book, or would I have to read the first book first?

Nat um it would probably be a good idea to read the first one first

Sydney Thanks!

Stacey I think it could be a stand alone....the mom comes back in this book but thats about it....the third book you would need to read the second one though

Stacey btw this is one of my fave series....I would love to see even one more and felt it ended with the possibility

Budd This could be read as a stand alone, no problem. The first book is much better though.

Stacey I agree with Budd that the first book is much better, I really enjoyed the third as well. I think this middle book was more of a way to tie the other two books together

Erica Baysinger I didn't realize there was a third book.

Did you not like the second book? Book 3 introduces a new love interest but also keeps the characters of Gabry and Catcher, there is a small part for Mary. There are new problems that arise and they are not just running back through the forest but find a new city. I personally really enjoyed it, I had my husband read it and he liked it too. I though still felt book three ended in a way that there could definately be a 4th book, however I am not seeing any info that there will indeed be a 4th. But I feel the story of Gabry and Catcher still needs to be explored further with all the new characters as well.

The Dark and Hollow Places is book three, there is a short story called Hare Moon as well that tells of the story of Tabitha and is an interesting read into why she is as weird as she is

Stacey There appears to be another short story out between books 1 and 2 this may. My guess is that it will tell the story of Mary and Gabry and is only 25 pages.

There is a third. It's called "The Dark and Hollow Places" and there is a prequel called "Hare Moon" and a book between 1 and 2, but it doesn't have a name. It just says: "What Once We Feared: An Original Forest of Hands and Teeth Story". Hope this helped!

Thanks...I have read all three, but I felt the third left it pretty open to more stories....I hope one day Carrie Ryan will add to the series
