Message in a Bottle question

Some twenty odd years ago my daughter did so several times as we sailed back and forth across the Atlantic and beyond. Only once did she get a response, that being from a bottle thrown in close to the Caribbean that was found on a beach in France.
An interesting way to get to know a random stranger.

I must admit, I thought the book was awful. Predictable and badly researched...

I have told my kids when I pass I want to be cremated put in bottle with a catchy note and tossed in the Alantic ocean !

I tried it as a kid, but haven't tried it since. I wonder how far it will go if I did that now.

I did try it. I put a message in a peach snapple bottle and tried to float it down the river near my house. Epic fail the water soaked the message up. Hopefully I can try it again soon

I think it would be great but I never did.
