I'm August and I'm new to the group.

Hello to everyone, my name is August Wainwright. I'm new to the group (and new to Goodreads in general) but I'm always looking for new and exciting writers in the mystery/thriller arena. Recently stumbled upon Joe Konrath - good stuff.

I've read every Sherlock Holmes and actually just started a Mystery March Madness bracket on my site to crown the greatest* mystery hero/heroine of all time. (I use the * because there's only 16 and a few were regrettably left off).

Really look forward to finding great new authors.

Thanks! I'm trying to spread the word a little over on Twitter (never sure how much the word actually gets out over there). Would love to see lots of votes and plenty of upsets.

So you're calling Bosch to make it into the Final Four, huh? That's an interesting bracket. I'm kind of thinking Salander is going to take the whole thing.

I was originally going to start with 32 characters, but the last 5-10 were pretty obscure, and after asking around, most people hadn't read that stuff anyways. Charlie Parker was a bubble pick. Maybe I'll expand to 32 next year, we'll see how much interest it gets.

Hey Derek, you called the Harry Bosch upset in the mystery bracket. He's the only lower seed winning right now. Jack Daniels and Philip Marlowe are tied. Every other top seed is winning, and fairly easily.

Just finished an ARC called Tin God by Stacy Green. Seriously guys watch for this book to be released, extremely good, a must read.
