Thanks for the invite.
I just added my two other books in my series, if i did anything wrong just bang me over the head. It always works!
So pleased to be here.
I am a published novelist. The fourth book in my series is called The Fourth Bride, it will be out by the summer.
I know that our moderator loves and writes gothic as I do.
If I could describe what I write about I'd say to think: Poe and Anne Rice. I'm not presuming to compare my writing to theirs, I'm just referring to the subject matter.
My favorite characters are mainly in gothic horror novels. I love the themes of gothic horror, good vs. evil and so on.
I prefer for my horror (written and what I read) to be dark and frightening. Anne Rice's characters have such depth and are so intense, I'd have to say they are my favorites. Claudia, the child vampire in Interview with A Vampire still haunts me!
I am a bit behind in my reading. But I will get there!
Welcome to the group Carole :) I am happy you added your books. I was planning on doing it soon but you have saved me the trouble :) I agree about Claudia. All of the children vampires seem to be more haunting than the adults.

i put the books in the Author and Reader folder. :D
thanks again, this is going to be fun
Your book is next in the queue!
It's the fact that they will not grow up. they are frozen in time. and also a child is full of life and hope. they are so opposite to that and it's haunting!
Good :)
And exactly! Ada and Simon were probably more haunting than Eve and Louis in your book. I think the scene with them drinking the bird's blood was one of the ones that really solidified that

I think what motivated me was wanting them to be child-like and sweet, loving children, capable of being mischievous, but because they are undead, they are cursed and it is irrevocable. I think that makes them that much more tragic.
Tragic and slightly on the disturbing side, but I love it. Without the disturbing factor, they wouldn't be reguarded as something to be feared.

Tragic is what makes a story haunting.
So true. and yes, they are scary in that respect.
Poor Rose!
Just wrote to you, here.
I love this group and thanks again!
Looking forward to getting into more in this group!
You're welcome Jackie :) good to see you joined
Hi Karla, Jess, and Michael. Welcome to the group :)

Welcome to the group Rachel :)

S.K.N., thanks for the invite.
I'm Elle, love of books, vampires, and other creatures that go bump in the night.
You're welcome Elle :) And welcome to the group

I love vampires. I've always tended toward horror and thrillers, but I'm finding that I tend to prefer the supernatural and paranormal sides of those genres. Demons generally scare the daylights out of me. So, I've joined this group to get some good reading recommendations.
Hi Debbie, welcome to the group :)

I have a real 'thing' about angels and demons particularly the Archangels and the fallen angels. I adore those books that are set in modern day and anything that looks at the interaction between 'good' and 'evil'.
Hi Marie, good to have you here. I agree, my favorite books have to be angel and demon ones.

Mark from Dublin have always had an interest in paranormal all aspects of it , more recently have turned it to a hobby.
So I'm trying writing have loads of different ideas that I would like to convert to paper for others to enjoy hopefully that is.
I'm working on a piece now based on angels and demons and the route of evil
Hi Mark. Thanks for joining. Sounds interesting. I think we all have problems converting out ideas into actual words, I know I do :)

I'm researching my book now Enoch and other books on the subject I have a trilogy in mind from the perspective of demons then angels and of coarse the final battle

Due to personal experiences in the past, I tend to have a soft spot for ghost stories, but nearly any kind of oogity-boogity is interesting to me, and I particularly like when someone takes an old concept and does something new and interesting with it. (Perse and her ship of the dead in Duma Key? Yes please! The demons and such in A Knight of the Word? Bring it!)

I really enjoy reading supernatural type books, such as The Vampire Diaries series being some of my favourite books.
I only really read that sort of genre, other than the odd romance book, but that's just what interests me!
Hi Katie :) Welcome to the group. I am the same way. Vampires, angels, demons, werewolves, all of it. Check out the discussions (I think you'll like the one on vampires) and stop by the poll to vote for next months Book of the month. We don't have one for this month, but if you have any suggestions for upcoming months just let us know :)

Paranormal books are my favorite. Right now, I'm really into angels. They are the ultimate in the power struggle between good and evil. God vs. the devil and Heaven vs. Hell are big themes that I enjoy exploring and reading about. :)
Welcome to the group Georgeann :) I agree. I love the whole angel scene

My name is Justin Bienvenue. I am an author and poet. When I'm not writing or reading I'm usually watching sports or playing them If I get such a chance. I enjoy horror books of both the gory and paranormal, If it's got a good amount of either count me in! I myself have written two horror books, The Macabre Masterpiece: Poems of Horror and Gore a book of horror poetry with 5 different chapters of types of Horror and A Bloody Bloody Mess In the Wild Wild West my latest which is a Western Horror. I like my books how I write my books, filled with suspense and possibly twists and turns and a good amount of action or scare.
I'm not sure if I have a specific favorite paranormal book although I do enjoy Anne Rice's Vampire series, having read a few of those. I like her take on vampires. I have also come to enjoy angels and demons as creatures because of a certain someone's book whom I'm currently reading now. A very insightful and new take on them for sure. I'll talk more bout it in topics, looking forward to discussing with everyone!
Good to see you in the group Justin :) there are so very interesting discussions going on about that book as well as ones on various paranormal creature like angels and demons and vampires. Feel free to join in

Hi Jenn :P I was wondering how long it would take you to join this group. You should join in the discussions since you probably know the most about the series next to the author
