Metaphorosis (metaphorosisreviews) | 61 comments I plan to add roughly 60 books - all relatively recent e-editions. They have ISBNs, but are also on Amazon. (For the curious, this is Spatterlight Press editions of Jack Vance that came out in 2012).

1. I was planning to add them as Amazon books with ASINs. Bulk upload requires an ISBN. Is there a way to either upload with ASIN only, or to upload with both ISBN and ASIN? (PS - if there's a link to correct field titles that would help; just starting to look for them).

2. This will create an equivalent number of books to be combined with old editions. What is the most efficient way to request the combination? That is, what key items of info should I post in the combination thread? The urls for the two versions? The Goodreads code?

B. wrote: "Bulk upload requires an ISBN."

It also requires the book to already be in the system. That import functionality is for adding books to your shelves, not for adding them to the database.

For combination requests, links to the two editions make things simplest.

Metaphorosis (metaphorosisreviews) | 61 comments Thanks. I was going by this help text: "Importing can take a while, especially if you have a lot of books or if your books aren’t already listed in our database." But I'm not averse to adding them by hand.

Not having them in the database slows things down, because an error is yielded for each one, and it tries to find matches by title, etc.
