Denisa wrote: "I am now reading A White Wind Blew by James Markert... hoping it is good... just got started... I did finish the others and one more but have not gotten my review up yet hopefully today I will..."I added that to my TBR.... my poor TBR list is HUGE!!
Denisa, glad you got the other books finished, its a shame when it becomes a chore to read, but at least they were for a worthy cause. Hopefully you'll get some time for more books of your own choosing! Today I picked up my daughters English course book, so that's another one for my TBR pile and I'm not even studying it! Looked good though, I'll be sure to update once I start. Hi to everyone else, oh and the brownies were delicious, all gone today :)

Hi Denisa, I see that we have been paired as TBR twins for April :) I'll send you a separate message to discuss that I think. Hope all is well with you....so glad that you're enjoying A White Wind Blew it's not a book that I know anything about.
Denisa wrote: "It is really good s far.. The characters are developed very well and unique.....not like any other,,, am really enjoying it...."it sounded really interesting. thanx for the subliminal recommendation :)

Katherine wrote: "Forget about the virtual calories on Easter Sunday. Really looking forward to the real ones in my cadbury's crunchie Easter egg"I like those too.... they are scrumptious
Mmmmmmm. It's sat here in front of me. So want to open it now:) but won't give into temptation. I can wait another 24 hours at least
Katherine wrote: "Mmmmmmm. It's sat here in front of me. So want to open it now:) but won't give into temptation. I can wait another 24 hours at least"WHY? i would go a head and eat it...and buy another one tomorrow...
Good point, but mum bought for me, kind of a tradition. I usually only eat about a third and my brother gets the rest, but he's not home this year. Have to bring his Easter egg out to Zurich in June, plus my 'uneaten' one and my sister in laws and the one for the new baby (in other words) another Easter egg for my brother. Can't wait for his child to be old enough to beat him to the punch and take priority.

It is a very soft Carmel with a very sweet white icing in the middle and it is called cow tales, not sure why... any way every holiday my husband buys some for me.. My grandson went to kindergarten told his teacher "my me-ma loves o eat cowtales..." hahahahha she sent home a note asking if I really ate cowtales. I'm not sure if my daughter told her it was candy or not. lol
Denisa, you are missing out on so much. We call them creme eggs. Chocolate eggs with a creme centre. Couldn't believe my sister years ago when she told me the centre of marketing didn't do Easter eggs. We have to send ones out to my niece and nephew every year. Pm me.
April wrote: "I love cadbury creme egg and they have the mini ones!"Ooooooh, don't get me started on cadbury creme eggs! They're to DIE for!

hello all... Hope Easter was as much fun and happy as mine was... I ate way too much food and laughed more than any one person should in a day's time. I am currently reading The View From Penthouse B by Elinor Lipman and almost done... by the time you read this message I shall be finished and on to Twitching heart by Matt Mendez.i left Easter left overs on the counter. There is a lot of sweets and such.. and my wasteline needs a break...

Hi Denisa, I thought I'd return your visit and say hello! You're corner is quite entertaining. :) How're things going with you? I'm just about to get off the computer (a.k.a. goodreads) and get back to my book (Sharp Objects) for a bit before bed.

"mmmmmm" than you so much... I brought some key lime pie too.... we are set... how about playing backgammon instead?
Hi Denisa, thanks for stopping by my corner. Glad you had a good Easter, sounds fun. I too have stacks of goodies left, but am trying not to touch them! I'm still waiting for Girl Interrupted to arrive, will let you know as soon as I have it :)
Ina wrote: "What's backgammon? Never played"its a cross between checkers and chess it is what is on the backside of a checker board... we can do dominoes.. I will try not to cheat... lol.. have a seat.. what have you been up to?
My parents used to play backgammon all the time. They called it 'Acey Ducey'.I have case, but I play it so rarely that I have to relearn it every time.
My mom always had a joint in her hand when she played, so for some reason, it doesn't feel like I'm REALLY playing the game when I play. Totally irrational, I know, but some things just stick with you from your childhood.

yes our childhood can come floating up to now memory by triggers, smells, sounds or images and even actions. I know my dad use to wear a cologne called old spice and he has passed on but to this day when I smell it, his image comes back to mind and I smile
:) I think probably 90% of men from a certain era used Old Spice!! My Xmas gift to my grandfather every year when I was very small was Old Spice Soap on a Rope!My dad used it when I was smaller, but stopped for whatever reason.
My mom always wore White Shoulders perfume and I LOVE it, and would really like to wear it, but it was her scent and I kind of want to keep it hers. Ya know?

I do understand perfectly...wanting to keep mom's own scent with her. I use Channel #5 and my daughters always loved it.. On prom night my daughter asked to wear it.. but she has a better like for the Channel #21.. or maybe its #7 hahahah I can't remember.. My other daughter never wears the same scent.. which is nice too.
I don't yet have my own scent. I like sweeter scents. I really liked Versace Blonde quite a few years ago, but didn't always have the $ to shell out for it.

I know the feeling... I must eat before I think about smelling good
I read a really good poetry book and have to share my review... Hope all of you who enjoy poetry will consider it..This book of poetry completely swayed me into another world of which I wish I had known long ago. The poems are of Henrik Nordbrandt translated by Patrick Phillips in a wonderful refreshing way. My joy reached the ears of heaven in discovering this book had not only the translations but the original writing too. These poems brought out emotions in a simply yet unique way that is simply indescribable. I felt each word, stanza, seen it and felt it embrace a very secret part of me. I would love a sound track of these poems to play over and over. Of the writings two really struck out at me. The first was titled: The Rebel’s Death Certificate,.. ( there is a house someone left many years back, there is a voice long ago that fell silent).., (there is a spring filled with poppies and cherry tree leaves.., there is a firing squad no one can see).., the visions and emotions this poem brought were of life, the sweet and beautiful and the harsh terrifying acceptance of even more. The second poem in which I felt deep within my bones and spirit is called: Pragmatic.., (The latter includes my new fountain pen, the familiar perfume, on the skin of a woman I hardly know, and the new light bulb I put in the lamp by the bed, by whose light, in every book that I read, I read about you).., This book did not merely take a place on my book shelves in my library; it travel to my office where I can enjoy it some more and maybe for always..
I received this book via goodreads and is one of my favorite of all time. I thank them truly for the opportunity to have escaped between its pages.
Hi, good day, Denisa!!I'm just dropping by to show your corner some love. I hope all's well with you and yours.:)
