Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments I secretly think Liz hates us all.

message 253: by Liz (new)

Liz Well thanks for the trust, hon.

I secretly think Liz loves and adores us all even when she strongly disagrees.

message 254: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments I knew you hated me...

message 255: by Liz (new)

Liz That is not what I said at all...?
I hate only truly hate-worthy things like Al Quaeda and Mussolini and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and all things relating to Star Trek.

message 256: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments LOL, I still think you don't like me, I'm very annoying....

message 257: by Liz (new)

Liz You have no idea what sort of annoying-ness I have to put up with...on the grand scale of annoyance you do not score very highly.

message 258: by Jayda (new)

Jayda "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named and all things relating to Star Trek."

:o ME TOO! I HATE, HATE, HATE STAR TREK.
And He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named (that must've been a pain for JK Rowling to keep typing up) is evilly hilarious, but hate-worthy, definitely.

message 259: by Liz (new)

Liz Star Trek is so lame! But I do love "live-long-and-prosper and Spock and stuff". But still very lame!

message 260: by Jayda (new)

Jayda I hate Star Trek xD A part of that's probably because my friend's creepy dad was obsessed with it -shiver- But I'm strangely excited to see the new one. Only because two hotties are the leads <3 ^^

message 261: by Emma the Dork (new)

Emma the Dork (cheesehead) "no you wouldn't. Liz is very fair. "

i know. thats why i would be miserable. she would have to delete like everything i posted!!

"Emma the Dork wrote: "thats true but i would be miserable if she was mod."

Thankyou dear Emma."

sorry, your really fair and a good debater i would only be miserable because of the above stated.

message 262: by Liz (new)

Liz back on topic; RELIGION
would the world be better
WITH
or
WITHOUT
it????

message 270: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments Without.

message 271: by Liz (new)

Liz why?

message 272: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments Because..... It hurts other people. Takes away rights, and quite honestly this debate is wearing me out....

message 273: by Liz (last edited Apr 05, 2009 12:44PM) (new)

Liz then leave if you don't want to be here. nobody is forcing you, dear.

message 274: by Liz (new)

Liz I believe humans would have a very tough time surviving without religion. As Thomas Aquinas's philosophy goes, as long as there is unknown in the universe, humans must believe in a divine and superior being to explain what is unknown to them. I think religion has been the cause of death, life, good, bad, but humans no matter what, human beings need something that can explain why things are. That was the reason for GReek and Roman myths, our Christian God, medieval indulgences, etcetera.

message 275: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments *in shock*

message 276: by Liz (new)

Liz why?

message 277: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments You..you, just t-t-told me to leave....

If you aren't on my side, who is. Well, actually, you never were on my side, I don't think so, you ar eto conservative for my taste, in any case, I jsut mean in this debate it is like talking to walls...

message 278: by Liz (new)

Liz No, only leave if you want to. I mean, I'm not trying to force you to stay or anything.

I'm too conservative for your taste, am I? Ah well...I'm actually rather evenly split if you look at all views.

message 279: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments WEll, slightly conservative is even too consevitive for me, lol. Oh, it seemed like you were telling me to leave..

message 280: by [deleted user] (new)

wows.

message 281: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments OMG, jessica, say what you are thinking...

message 282: by [deleted user] (new)

OKAY,im mad.

message 283: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments Why are you mad?

message 284: by [deleted user] (new)

My dad pretty much called me stupid.

message 285: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments Good, now yall know how I feel. My parents pull that with me all the time. You just gotta not care about it.

message 286: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, that was the first time he did that. He liked knocked on my head to see if it was hollow and said "You know sometimes i dont think there are any sparks in there".

message 287: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments Hmm, that isn't that bad. Sounds like he was teasing, my parents are always yelling t me. I just do what I want, they are the reason I've learned not to care about what people think of me.

message 288: by [deleted user] (new)

Nope,he was yelling at me so I went into my room and cryed and tryed to suffacate myself.

message 289: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments How did you do that. If you was trying to kill yourself, you know that nobody, not even your family is worth doing that.

message 290: by [deleted user] (new)

I know.

message 291: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) I think that, like Liz said, religion gives people something to believe in, but I wish people wouldn't discriminate based on religion.

message 292: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah,im friedns with people with different religion than me,and im fine with it.

message 293: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (djinni) | 7365 comments Mod
People can live without it. 15% of America can.

message 294: by Riley (new)

Riley (booksarecool) What about the other 85%? You have to admit, some people need it. One of my friends acts like a jerk, but then on Sunday, he's really nice. (not saying this is the case with everyone, but some people need religion to be civilized)

message 295: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (djinni) | 7365 comments Mod
It's a crutch, a security blanket. TO keep them going, to make then behave, whatever. If it stopped at that, that would be fine. But people push it on others.

message 296: by [deleted user] (new)

I NEED IT!*neck veins pops out*

message 297: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (djinni) | 7365 comments Mod
It's like a 'helpful' drug, almost. It's needed in life, by some more them others, but sometimes it helps someone do good.

message 298: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments Lauren's right, relgion is just used to give you something to live for. Just live for yourself, and the love around you...

*humms a happy tune*

message 299: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (djinni) | 7365 comments Mod
But, no one forces you to give it up and face reality.

message 300: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes.*neck veins pops out again* I NEED IT!!
