Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments If you don't believe in god Lauren, than what do you live for, I live for the happiness and to make somethings better, you want to hear the favotrite quote I've made up?

message 203: by The New Maria (new)

The New Maria (emeraldmaria) | 1950 comments Sara. It's internet. You don't have to type that many spaces. It's easy. I'm sorry. Easy.

Sara, I'm sorry too. Kinda over reacted. Should have had better control over anger.

Easy eh?

message 204: by The New Maria (new)

The New Maria (emeraldmaria) | 1950 comments Btw Liz, you are very awesome.

message 205: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments Yeah Sara, the double spacing is really annoying, my computer is slow, sooo.

From a girl who cannot control her emotions whatsoever, yeah you can't control love. Thus, people having hard times getting over people or dead spouses.

message 207: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments I don't like eggs and I feel the desire to cut off my eyebrows, but unlike love and attraction, I shall control that urge.

Riley (booksarecool) ♥jessica♫louise♥ wrote: "well, its not nice and i think its uncalled for. even when they arent there to see what is going on."

Exactly. Thanks JL.

WTF? that made me laugh so loud, even when I didn't understand it.

So:
1. No ganging up. Just debating (:D)

2. No more entering so many times Riley ends up falling asleep halfway through scrolling. It's not fun.

3. Listen to Liz if Chan and I aren't on here. (:D)

"than what do you live for,"

The idea that I am smart, and I can use that in some way to help the world.

And the hope I will meet MyChem in person one day. <3

Your welcome!

message 212: by The New Maria (new)

The New Maria (emeraldmaria) | 1950 comments Is Liz a mod?

message 213: by [deleted user] (new)

No.

message 214: by Liz (new)

Liz Liz is not a mod. Liz is not cool enough to have obtained such status.

message 215: by The New Maria (new)

The New Maria (emeraldmaria) | 1950 comments Masha is sorry that Liz is not a mod. Masha think Liz would be a good one, even though she is overly nice.

message 216: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (djinni) | 7365 comments Mod

message 217: by Marley (new)

Marley (Marleyme95) | 5270 comments I think if Liz were a mod I would have been kicked by now...

Lauren (djinni) | 7365 comments Mod
lololol

I think so. Me and J too, after that stupidity tax joke. XD

message 219: by [deleted user] (new)

I would just like to interject with Nietzsche's argument.

P1. The purpose of religion is to help those who cannot help themselves(e.g., poor, destitute, lame, ect.)
P2. Doing this will not help to make a better human species.
C. Religion corrupts humanity.

Lauren (djinni) | 7365 comments Mod
I see some Social Darwinism in there.

message 221: by [deleted user] (new)

But, logically, it makes sense. Right?

message 222: by [deleted user] (new)

Wow.

message 223: by [deleted user] (new)

What?

message 224: by [deleted user] (new)

Wow.

message 225: by Jayda (new)

Jayda Logically it does not make sense. A great part of the Bible is to teach morals and to show that doing the right thing isn't bad at all. Yes, the Bible has contradictions. Even if you don't believe in it, it does teach good lessons. If people lived by the Word of God, no matter what they believed, the world would honestly be a better place because the Bible teaches to love one another, to be kind to each other, that sort of thing.

message 226: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (djinni) | 7365 comments Mod
It does.

Natural selection is basically in the toilet now. I feel bad for future generations, there's all these predictions floating around that everyone will slowly become invalid from all the bad genes that we let survive.

message 227: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 03, 2009 06:28PM) (new)

But from an evolutionary standpoint, it does. Logically, helping the weak to survive does not help the species to improve through natural selection.

Lauren (djinni) | 7365 comments Mod
But, then if you think like that, everyone thinks you're a Nazi >.<

message 229: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm not saying I agree with it to the extent that he does. However, the argument itself is sound.

message 230: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (djinni) | 7365 comments Mod
It is. But, people think that makes you a cruel, unfeeling person.

At least the really debilitating stuff, like retardation, basically prevents you from having kids. Cause you could never raise them.

message 231: by [deleted user] (new)

Right.

message 232: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (djinni) | 7365 comments Mod
The argument is sound. I wish people would believe it.

message 233: by [deleted user] (new)

Indeed.
