Ronatha Hall (roangl27) | 55 comments Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a new series to read, one I'd like enough to buy. Been in a backwards kinda slump lately just breezing through books like its nothing, but not in that awesome way where it's so good I can't put it down.
Here are some guide lines: I love L K Hamilton's Anita Blake! My #1 series. Ilona Andrew's Kate Daniels is up there too. I also like a series that follows multipule characters. Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunters and Kresely Cole's Immortals After Dark. And just to throw in another Lynsay Sands's Argeneau Vampires. I have plenty of others I could name but this is my baseline. . . sorta.
I'm usually not picky and can read almost anything paranormal (Twilight excluded of course);) but there are less and less PN series I like enough to purchase and follow. Library's great and all but it's not the same. A little help please?
p.s. I wrote this at 2 in the morn so if it doesn't make much sense I'm sorry.

Sissi Drake | 1 comments Taste Nalini Singh series Psy- changeling and Guild Hunter, or Ward with her Black Dagger Brotherhood, or Lara Adrian with Midnight breed. I love Christine Feehan too and all her series and if you read Ilona Andrews you can try the Edge series, I read the first one and I loved it. I'm a lover of PN and I've a long list of beautiful series

message 3: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (StephsBookRetreat) | 29 comments Kerrlyn Sparks has a great "love at the stake" series; each stand alone, yet read in order it's fantastic. I think 12 are out, she is under contract for 1 more if I remember correctly.

If you want something a bit sexier, that will hit your emotions, you can try reading, the Breeds series by Lora Leigh, their are 29 of those, just a warning. Very emotionally charged, no vampires or weres. Genetically engineered people who find love despite the horrors they had experienced.

Ronatha Hall (roangl27) | 55 comments I love it when I find a reader like me!
I think I've read all of those and am currently waiting for the next book in the series. Andrews The Edge series is totally awesome, another one of my favorites. The next Feehan book I'm really looking forward to is Lepord's Prey. My family laughs at my calander because it's full of book release dates. I keep track of my to read list on multipule PowerPoints
You suggested (and I've read and loved)
Lara Adrian The Midnight Breed
Ilona Andrews The Edge
Christine Feehan Dark/Drake Sisters/Ghostwalkers/The Leopard
Nalini Singh Gulid Hunters/Psy-Changeling
J.R. Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood. . . I'm also reading Fallen Angels.

I love all of these!

Alisa What about Lords of the Underworld & Renegade Angels by Gena Showalter. The Guild Hunter series by Nalini Sighn or Demonica & HOA by Larissa Ione. You can also go back & check out our Meet the Mods sections ( there are four). There are a lot of less known series listed in that.

message 6: by Alisa (new)

Alisa Actually Renegade Angels is Sylvia Day's series but Showalter has an angel one also that's a split off of LOTU. I'm blanking on the name.

I read How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire a few years ago and I wasn't really into it. But I'm willing to give the entire series a try. Thanks.

Eternal Werecat | 3 comments The Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs, she also has the Alpha and Omega series.
The Otherworld Sisters by Yasmine Galenorn. I always snatch the newest one off the shelf when it comes out. She has the Indigo Court series.

Cassie Palmer series and the Dorina Basarab series by Karen Chance.

The most recent books are better than the first one. I started reading "Eat Prey Love", that's the one that got me hooked [about Carlos one of the day guards] and I hunted down the ones that came before it. Her newest novel is about Howard, about freakin time, lol. You might enjoy the more recent ones if you didn't enjoy the first one, I try not to judge a series based on one novel if possible.

message 14: by Alisa (new)

Alisa Ok Demonica by Larissa Ione is a MUST read. That's the series you're looking for....... :)

message 15: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Bolen (jadeaaustin) In my chest of goodies is Walk on the Wild Side (The Others, #13) by Christine Warren Christine Warren the Other series, Stolen (Women of the Otherworld, #2) by Kelley Armstrong Kelley Armstrong Women of the Otherworld, The Kitchen Witch (Accidental Witch Trilogy, #1) by Annette Blair Annette Blair Accidental Witch, You Slay Me (Aisling Grey Guardian, #1) by Katie MacAlister Katie Macallister Aisling Gray, Venom (Elemental Assassin, #3) by Jennifer Estep Jennifer Estep Elemental Assassins, Blood Trade (Jane Yellowrock, #6) by Faith Hunter as well as most stuff mentioned.

message 16: by Sandra J (new)

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 147 comments I enjoyed the Halle Puma and Halle Shifter series by Dana Marie Bell. I think she's really developing as a writer. There's a third Halle Shifter book coming out which I'll definitely buy as soon as it shows up on my iPad. I also liked her Gray Court series (and I'm not a fan of the fae). I thought Blood of the Maple (Maggie's Grove, #1) by Dana Marie Bell was very unique and am anticipating the second one in the series. These are most definitely PNR with a different couple in each book. All of the series other than the Halle Puma books have an overarching plot that runs through all the books.

Ronatha Hall (roangl27) | 55 comments I love Women of the Otherworld. I love Kelley Armstrong. I've also read her YA series The Darkest Powers and Darkness rising. They seem to be set in the same world.

I am soo looking forward to starting this series. I read the description and a few quotes and I'm in love. Really got my attention. Thanks

message 21: by Eternal Werecat (new)

Eternal Werecat | 3 comments Venom by Estep was good. Bought the first five when they were on sale about a month ago. Will definitely be purchasing the next few when I get caught up on those.

The Stray series by Rachel Vincent is good. I like her new adult books... the title slips my mind at this moment.

Pleasure Unbound (Demonica, #1) by Larissa Ione Eternal Rider (Lords of Deliverance, #1) by Larissa Ione Demonica leads into LOD and both are a great series. I normally don't read books like these, but was so glad I did.

I've read her Riley Jenson series. It was good, but not a top fave.

Ronatha Hall (roangl27) | 55 comments Okay, so I've offically purchased Raphael by DB Reynolds and The Wallflower by Dana Marie Bell. Haven't started them yet, but they're next in my Kindle. Still open to suggestions y'all. This is fun.

Alisa I'm finishing up Creed (Unfinished Hero, #2) by Kristen Ashley and then going to start Darker by Trina M. Lee. (will not let me pull up the cover or link??) It was released a month early so it was a big happy dance for me today.

How did you like Creed and did you read Knight? I was reading the intro and a few reviews and I'm interested but hesitant. What's your take?

I did read Knight & I have mixed emotions about this book. It is a blatant 50 Shades of Grey re-write. Poor girl, rich guy, he's controling, etc. That annoyed me at first BUT I ended up liking the book. Knight doesn't have Christian's emotional issues & he isn't a completely honest businessman. There is something about the character that drew me in. Have you read Heller by JD Nixon? It's like she took Heller & Christian Grey & mixed them together. Lot's of sex. If you can look past the 50 Shades issue it's pretty good. Creed was a 3 star read for me. It was totally different than Knight but set in the same world. There were some really good parts and had a more original story. My main complaint is that in went on too long. If you are a Kristen Ashley fan I think you will like them.

Mim (charli309) | 11 comments I've just started on Helen Harpers blood destiny series. It's about English shape shifters, mages and other things. The books have good reviews on Amazon and look promising
