Michael | 32 comments I am a newbie librarian currently reading this book and notice that it has 279 pages, not 304 as listed on the book page. I looked at the change log and I see that it used to have 304, then switched to 279, then switched back to 304. The authors of these changes are listed as "ingram" and "onix firebrand". Aren't those names of book databases? Sorry, I'm new at this. Can I override the information since I have the actual book in my hand? Can someone tell me why these sources would have different page numbers for the same ISBN? (I poked around and noticed that WorldCat lists 279 and Amazon lists 304. What's up?)

Amanda | 2442 comments The publishers (who supply info for Amazon and other databases) count some of the blank pages at the back (as well as other info we don't, like previews for other books). Worldcat is supplied mostly by librarians who would have the book in hand.

Book in hand trumps ingram or onix firebrand. Go ahead and change it to match your book.
