Sayuri walked lithely in front of him. "That was not implied."

Wolf began walking towards the temple. he took off his ninja mask and acted calm.

Aram saw them coming.

"Can I help you,sir?" He stopped in front of wolf.

Wolf bowed deeply. "We have come to investigate the recent theivery of your magnificent temple."

Sayuri narrowed her eyes.

Monk led Wolf and Robyn to the altar, where the pot of gold was empty.

"That bastard took all of our sacred gold," said Monk.

Sayuri looked back over her shoulder. "The ones that can't fathom why they would." and with that, she picked up her bag, and disappeared into the shadows.

snake observed sayuri. she was quiet, secretive, and ruthless, just like him. maybe...
he pushed the thought out of his head. she probably thought of him as a lowlife who belonged in hell.

Sayuri trudged silently through the woods. Snake. He was similar to her in many ways... but her own morals would not let her love him.

snake felt the same.
he stalked behind her, already knowing that she knew he was behind her.

Sayuri turned, her dark eyes flashing. "Is there something you need, Snake? Some moral you would like to antagonize? Some characteristic of mine you need to insult?"

snake stopped. his face turned down.
"all my life, i've been rejected. cast away. thrown out. whatever you want to call it. you're the first person i've met who didn't do that." he said. "but you wouldn't care, would you? a filthy lowlife like me has nothing to do with your kind." he said bitterly.

Sayuri was taken aback. Her eyes lost their icy gaze. "Has nothing to do with me." she repeated smoothly. "We are not very different, Snake. Both of us have blood on our hands. We are wanted for money."

snake looked up in surprise.
then he darkened.
"yes. i'm an outcast. but you still have friends. i, for one, have nothing. i have not been able to walk by someone without them saying something about me that immediatly applies to true. so, yes, we are similar, but i have one thing that is very different from you."

Sayuri shrugged. "Picture life how you will. I can not stop you from viewing your future how you do. And I won't try to help you, if help is not what is needed."

snake laughed.
"i like you, sayuri. but my life has been filled with hate. i am filled with bitterness. how could anyone love me?" he asked darkly.

Sayuri smiled. "We are all pawn in the chess game of life. Love will come like a knight on his horse, and will fly away like a bishop in his haste."

snake snorted. then he sat down, and for the first time in fifteen years, he started to cry.

Sayuri walked silently over, kneeling down gently beside him. She placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.

snake laughed bitterly.
"i'm such a wretch." he said.

"If a wretch is what you choose to call yourself, let it be known." Sayuri replied. "But if you dislike being known as a wretch, call yourself something else."

snake turned towards sayuri. then, without thinking, he kissed her.

Sayuri looked surprised, but against her better judgement, kissed him back. Her eyes fluttered closed.

snake pulled away. his tears were gone, replaced by something he'd never experienced.

Sayuri held his gaze for a moment longer, then looked away.

snake muttered,
"my real name is rieko." he went and sat by a tree. his happiness was gone in a flash, but it held in sayuri's mind.

snake pulled off his hat. since he was feeling so strange, he cut his finger.
he swore, then put his hat back on, sucking on his finger. he held sayuri's gaze.

Sayuri stood up, beginning to walk away. "Goodbye... Rieko."

rieko just sat there, and fell asleep.
