I just about died when I found out! lol

I like her!"
I liked her too. I would have liked to see more interaction with her but not at the cost of the story.

Oooohh, you're making me want to read. Right now LOL And I can't until the girls are up and off to school and I've had my morning walk. I think the laundry is going to wait today ;)

Oh yes, very much! :)

I'm about to start chapter 6, and Georgette seems kinda like a typical heroine so far, she just had a bad night. Lol. But James is different to me, from what I gather he's from a titled family but refuses to accept the lifestyle that brings so he's working to make his own way as if he were some normal person. I'm kind of intrigued by it, though I can tell already that he's hardheaded. I'm already hooked on the story, can't wait to read on and figure out what the heck happened. It's like the Hangover movie :)
I also am interested in William, James' brother, kinda like him already. And who's the chick in the bath in Georgette's room? As for Cousin Randolph... yea, he's an ass already with his trying to force her to marry him and his attitude. Don't like him, and I'm feeling he's part of the explanation somehow...

Dhes' Question: As you read, I'd like your first impressions of both Lady Georgette and James McKenzie. Are they typical historical romance characters? What do you think of their...predicament?
Lisa Kay's Answer:
I quite like Georgette & James. Georgette was a little on the panicky side in the opening scene, but I can't say that I wouldn't feel the same way, if I found myself in the same situation and couldn't remember what happened. Though, I'd like to think I'd stick around. But maybe that is my older self talking and not the woman I was when I was twenty-two.
Are they typical? Hmmm. Yes, in that they are both "beautiful" people, but that doesn't bother me. They both also suffer a bit a anachronism, Georgette more so than James, but it isn't really bothering me, either, as the setting and details of the era seems so well done. I do feel like I'm in a medieval village and they go about their day trying to figure out what happened.
Interestingly, I find myself enjoying their tug-of-war feelings they are feeling about their attraction to one another, and what they should do about it. This is not the typical "male-in-pursuit" theme. Well, it is, but the reason for the pursuit shifts, which is funny.
Their predicament, which has definite overtones of the movie Hangover, is actually quite fun. Sort of a "Medieval Hangover," if you will. Though, at this point I'm finding the mysteries along the way building more than stumbling across any answers. Which are:
1. Are these two legally married or not? However, all these accumulating mysteries aren't bothering me, as it is early days - or is that early hours? LOL!
2. Who took James' money pouch?
3. Just what did Cousin Randolph do that lead to this all happening? Is he who Georgette needs protection from?
4. When, when, when are they going to feed that poor wee baby kitten?
5. What did Georgette do in the back alley of the Blue Gander with Joseph to earn herself a dog?
6. Where is Caesar? And why isn't he with James?
7. Are we going to find out why they "tarred & feathered" Georgette's feet for the wedding, or is that something I'm going to have to look up on the Internet?

I do have a good friend whose husband is a wonderful bartender, in that he can make a drink that tastes so good you don't realize the amount of alcohol in it. He was very good at getting me drunk; nevertheless, I've learned my lesson with his skills.
Yes, I never was a big drinker and I find I drink less and less over the years. I like a nice glass of sherry, still. Wine I only use for cooking. I can't remember when I last had a piña colada; used to love those...

I didn't figure it out. I never figure things out though lol

Amen!

Glad to hear it, Jenny!

It freaked me out. I just couldn't imagine it! Did it bug anyone else?

Me too! In my review I posted an image of how I imagined James, and it wasn't nearly as bearded as he was, I'm sure. I just couldn't handle it.
