Kathy Chumley (kathleenchumley) Thanks for the welcome. I think I just might be able to join in on Barnaby Rudge.

Christine | 330 comments Have you read BR before?

message 53: by Tristram (new)

Tristram Shandy Everyman pointed out that BR is a very long book, so maybe in the course of the day or tomorrow I'll come up with a reading schedule allowing for a leisurely approach to the novel.

Tristram Shandy For me, too, as I usually read several books at the same time depending on my mood.

Christine | 330 comments Being a big fan of this story I recommend a slow pace. There are things to look up and digest here and there. As it's an historical piece.

Kate I'll be joining in and leisurely is good for me too. :-)

Tristram Shandy Martin Chuzzlewit is actually not a book we have read as a group so far, Trina. So you won't have to read it if your objective is to catch up with the group. We are mostly reading the novels in their chronological order - Christmas being an exception -, and whenever we have some month left at the end of the book, we throw in some shorter Dickens writings.

So if you want to catch up, you'd have to read The Pickwick Papers, Oliver Twist, Nicholas Nickleby and The Old Curiosity Shop. You can find our bookshelves on our Group Home Page or under "Bookshelf".
