Safe Haven Safe Haven question

Read the book first? Or watch the movie first?

I read the book last month as wanted to read it before I saw the movie and I'm glad I did as if you saw the movie first it would ruin the ending of the book which could put you off reading the sublime storytelling. ALWAYS try to read the book first. :)

Always read the book first. It lets you imagine the characters and have a picture in your mind. The movie will bring those characters alive. :)

Read the book. ;) Because the movies are just like the summary of the book. And besides, the book is more interesting than the movie. :D

BOOK FIRST :) Movie was good, but I would recommend reading the book first.

I thought this was a really poorly written book. I threw it out about halfway through. I might suggest, in this case, watching the movie first! Usually that is not my recommendation but I have been less than thrilled with Nicholas Sparks' books. The only one that was fantastic was The Notebook.

ALWAYS read the book first!

Read the book first... The Movie is just based on the the book ...Loved the Movie but really liked having the book to back it. Enjoy!

Definitely read the book first if you can have the choice! I watched the movie first and it ruins everything. The book was so much more solid and there's so many more information missing in the movie so book first!

Wow I'm shocked that so many people didn't like the movie.I have read almost all of Nicholas Sparks books and I loved Safe Haven in the book and movie.I felt like the movie was great....I recommend reading the book first and watching the movie after.

Read the book and loved it... Was excited to watch the movie, but when I finally watched it.... It was okay. Read the book to get more of the characters background.

Book first...always.

Read the book first....

Book first. better yet, Just don't watch the movie all. Terrible. So much was left out. You don't really get to know any of the characters. It is terrible compared to the book.

Read the book first...you can actually skip the movie as it was lacking so much. Definite disappointment.

I loved the book, so I will not watch the movie. I always picture in my mind what the charaters look like so I usually will be disappointed in the movie. Sort of ruins the book for me.

i would go for the book first rather than the movie.

I also read the book and have never seen the movie.

Read the book, refused to watch the movie.

But in most cases I like to watch the movie first so that way I will have a liking for the movie, instead of being disappointed in the movie if I had read the book before seeing the movie.

I thought the movie was badly done, esp. Hough's character. I would read the book and skip the movie altogether.

Normally, I don't read the book first on this occassion I did. If I watched the movie first, there is no way I would have read the book. I know it is the norm the book is better. But in this case, the movie was awful in comparison. There was so much missing from the film. Not sure if it was the version I watched which was on the plane, but Kate when she spoke I hardly heard what she was saying. None of the characters had any substance. Whereas in the book there is plently of it. Although it is predictable, as in why she was running away. The fact it was uncovered in the film did not show how clever she was about doing it. Which gave her even less substance. I never got the impression she was frightened whereas I did in the book. Really frightened, she did not speak to anyone or want to, scared to be close. Never got that impression from the movie. Deeply disappointed because I loved the book.
