I'm almost finished. I got sidetracked watching The Voice last night. But I brought it to the Drs. with me today and read a chunk there. I only have about 30 pages left.
Lizz, I love Grimm!! Did you see the episode this last Friday. So good. And Mary, I was watching The Voice last night as well. Loved it!! Can't wait for tonight's episode.Just wanted to let y'all know that I will not be on the computer at all on Friday, so I will not be able to see what's being called until Saturday.
Week 3: Grimm3/26/13 **** stars
Plot= 3 (wiches, ghosts)
Name=5 (Nick/a main character)
Setting= 6 (2012)
Total=14 pts
I love this series and this one did not disappoint. Nick and Maddy stayed "on" throughout the whole book which is good. I have a worry that it's going to turn into 20 books of Maddy going back and forth between 2 guys (Nick & Werner) like the Hannah Swenson books. So hopefully that won't happen with these. I like the light paranormal aspect of them with the clothes reading and ghosts.

This is one tough round :( I haven't chosen what to read yet. Guys, if you find any books worth a lot of points, please PM me. Thanks!
I saw the show earlier but I have not had time to look. I don't know when I'll get a chance. Feel free to PM with book ideas if you have them. The Massachusetts part is easy but I don't know if I have Boston covered off the top of my head. I might ahve a bodice ripper or two from 1982. The names suck on this one but I do have an idea of a bodice ripper writer with one of those names.
I've thought of a few that had a bar theme, and I found a few on the guilty pleasures list. I could probably come up with something from 1982. But nothing that's worth any major points. Please PM me as well if you find anything.
Figures. The author I was thinking of published 1 book in 1982 and it's so out of print that it's selling for a lot used on Amazon. I have others of her but I think they're all set in midieval times. They're also doorstoppers sooo, looking for something else.
Well I have one book from 1982 and it gets nothing but year. It's also over 600 pages. So no luck there.
The best I have so far is 11 pts for setting and name. I'm not sure the name is enough of a character but I think it is.
Week 3th Grimm

I loved this book. It was a fun and cute read. I love Mina and her friend Nan. But if you don't like cliffhangers do not read this book. It has a crazy cliffhanger. I can't wait to read the next book. And it needs to get here soon.

I'm tired of looking and the best I can do is 11 pts for books I own already. So I'll pick one of those. In the Dance Pary game everyone posted what they found and we all trolled each others team threads for book ideas. But this game everyone is so secretive and no one seems to want to share their book ideas especially if they find a higher point one.
Well these are what I have for 11 pts. I see multiple posts in the other teams about people having trouble finding something. I don't mind sharing even though they aren't worth a whole lot.
(Boston and Sam)
(Boston and Rebecca)
I know - the team challenges have gotten so secretive. I miss being able to troll. I got so many ideas for books to read.I have the Physick book but it's pretty long.
And thanks, Lizz! I see the mistake I made on points.
Still looking. I have the 4th in the Dream Man series by Kristen Ashley. I hate to read out of order, but I'm not sure it matters in this series. But that would work for shelf+cover+plot = a whopping 6 pts. I'll keep looking.
I have it one of those books on audio and one in print. I might start both and see which I finish first. I've had them both for years.
I just spotted this in another thread from someone who also thinks it's more fun to share book ideas for these. I was going to do that the first week and then I saw in every other team thread that they were all PMing instead of posting their book finds. I kind of felt like I would betray the team if I posted mine when all the other teams were being so secretive. I should have just posted them anyway instead of being petty and not posting them. I don't think we are even in the running to win at this point anyway.
Oops forgot to post the book I saw. I saw this on the Boston shelf and I like this author a lot. But I don't own it and I'm trying to read up what I own. If we were in 1st place I might get it to not sink us but we were tied for last place when I looked last week. So I'm going to read one I own already.
I guess it's worth 15 pts: shelf, name, setting, plot or something like that.
I actually own that book on my nook and would be okay with re-reading it. Great job, Mary!! I obviously didn't look far enough on the Boston shelf, I didn't see this one.
I love it better when everyone posts their chosen books too, like we did during the first week. When people started sending PM later, I thought the rules had been changed or sth. Oh well, thanks for posting your books guys.
Yeah that was part of the fun of the Dance Party game. Going to all the team threads to see what everyone was reading. Often times it was a book I had already and just had no idea it had as many points as it did. I also got a little thrill when I was able to be the first to post one worth a lot of points and saw other people use it.
I am happy to post my books as long as the rest of the team is okay with it. I play these games to learn about new books and to figure out what to read next. Winning is just lagniappe (a little something extra). That being said, I'm going to read this one again. I do like this author and don't remember this book very well.
Yay, I am so glad I am not the only one who doesn't like the super secret don't share your books. There is another team challenge out there that by nature I see where it is helpful, but not here.
I like that author a lot. My library has it but I kind of want to go with one I own already. Especially since I don't think we have any shot of winning at this point. I'm not sure if my library is still open on Saturdays. The website says it's closed on Saturdays until Labor Day. But I think it just hasn't been updated. I'm pretty sure it stays open on Saturdays during the whole school year. To me it should stay open on Sat year round. I may or may not go and pick it up.
We definitely are not going to win :) But I also hope we are not landing on the last place either :D I want to find a standalone. I've read too many series books lately and it is getting overwhelming trying to finish all of them.
Yeah that's part of it too. I don't want to start yet another series at this point.I just looked at the standings. We are in 5th place but the 6th place team is only a few points below us. We could possibly move up a spot of two. But there's 17 or 18 pts between us and 1st place team 4. Conceivably if we all found high point books and read really quickly for the rest of the game we might pass them. But while we did that, they'd also have to read more slowly then they have and earn less points then they have.
I could probably do the reading quickly part. But I went into this intending not to run to the library every week and read what I had on hand.
I will be reading
. I agree about this author - like her a lot. I'll have to figure out the points. I know it counts for Setting + Title + Plot. Not sure of what else.And I have no problem with posting our books. As I said before, it's more about finding good books to read. And talking about them than the winning.
Gisbelle wrote: "I might read
but it is only worth 6 points for setting :("This book also has shelf and name points so it is worth 12-points.
I looked again and my book also counts for shelf. So what I have is shelf + Plot + Name + Setting = 15 points.
I was reserving my Dead Locked reread for when True Blood is called. I'll buy the new one when it comes out but it might not be out in time. I'm on disc 3 out of 12 of my book. Knocked off 2 discs just this morning while making breakfast, then cheesecake and doing the dishes.
