JenniferJ | 0 comments True Blood (Week 6)
Living Dead in Dallas (Sookie Stackhouse, #2) by Charlaine Harris
Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris
Date finished: 4/19/13
Rating: 4 stars

Review:
Sookie is back and still in love with Vampire Bill but Eric is under her skin now as well. We find out more of Bill's family and Sookie gets called away on a search for missing vampires.

I'm still loving the series but wished so much that I had read the books before watching the tv show because they are so different and it gets a bit confusing.

Points:
1- Shelf: Supernatural
2- Cover: Blood on neck and lips
3- Plot: Psycic, Mystery, Love Triangle
4- Title: True or Blood
5- Name: Sookie, Bill, Eric, Sam, Jason
6- Setting: Louisianna or Pub

LOL I hope it's worth it. I just browsed the western shelf looking for something published in 1955 and he came up, not sure if he's good...

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) Week 7 - Gun Smoke 1955

Matthew BY Emma Lang
Date Finished: 4/21/12
Rating: 3.5
Review: There were some spots where I rolled my eyes because Hannah and Matt acted more like they were 14 or 15 rather than 20 and 25. Once I got over that, it was a pretty good story. Matt's horrible sister redeemed herself and I'm actually looking forward to her book :)

POINTS:
Shelf
Cover: horses and cowboy hat
Plot: western
Name: Matt
TOTAL: 11

Matthew (Circle Eight, #1) by Emma Lang

Ooops. Sorry, team. I finished my book yesterday evening but it was late and I couldn't stay awake any more. And today I was out the whole day.

Week 7
Gunsmoke

Book:
Heller with a Gun by Louis L'Amour
Date finished: 25.04
Rating: 2/5

Ok, another book i'm not too happy about. I was one of those books where I couldn't concentrate at all and after several pages I forget what's happedned already so I kinda lose track of the plot. At least it was short. It probably would've made a good or OK movie but as a book it just doesn't do it for me.

Points:
Shelf:Historical - 1
Cover: Cowboy hat - 2
Plot: Western - 3
Title: Gun - 4
Setting: Published in 1955 - 6

Total points: 16

Kattibrie | 0 comments For this week I'm gonna read Summer of Night by Dan Simmons . It has cover name and setting for 13 points.

JenniferJ | 0 comments Gunsmoke (Week 7)
The Final Arrangement (The Flower Shop Mystery Series, #1) by Annie Adams
Date finished: 4/26/13
Rating: 3 stars

Review:
I have not read a cozy mystery in so long and this was just what I was in the mood for! I loved the flower shop sleuthing Quincy does while being a suspect in a rival shop owners murder which leads us down a winding road of wild events including a love interest with the hunky cop Alex who is supposed to be just pretending to be her boyfriend in the hopes of wielding off other men but yeah that part gets kinda predictable obviously. LOL I would totally recommend this one for anybody looking for some mindless fun and anybody that enjoys the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich.

Points:

3- Plot: Law Enforcement
5- Name: Adams

Total points: 8

Kattibrie | 0 comments Actually... we do not have a shot at the first place and this is the last show, could we just read any book no matter how little points it brings us? :?

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) Do we not have a shot at it? I haven't checked in a couple of weeks LOL

Well, so far team 4 have 400 points. Ours (without Camilla's book for Gunsmoke) is 372. I don't think we could catch up unless we find 21-points books, lol

message 218: by Susan (susayq ~) (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) HAHA at the 21 point books for this week! I was lucky to find a 9 pointer. I did see It Had to Be You (Chicago Stars, #1) by Susan Elizabeth Phillips is worth 13 with an alternate cover.

message 219: by JenniferJ (new)

JenniferJ | 0 comments Well no matter I have really had fun playing with you ladies! In the end it's all about the fun and meeting of new friends and exploding our TBR list anyhow! LMAO

You are soooo right! and I've had a blast :D

message 221: by Kattibrie (new)

Kattibrie | 0 comments Yeah, I had so much fun! Looking forward to next round! :) I'll see if I could fit in the Dan Simmons 13 pointer but it's a pretty big book and I have some other things to finish by the end of the month...

message 222: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (cyqua) Hi ladies!

SOO sorry I've been a bit MIA! We've had guests for the last 2 weeks almost constantly and work has been crazy busy, so I haven't had much time for reading and much less GR! :(

I'm just finishing up my Gunsmoke book - I should post it later today :)
I haven't had a chance to look for books for this week, but I agree that perhaps we don't have to go for gold since we probably won't have a chance at 1st place anyway :)

But I have also really LOVED playing with you ladies! And it was fun to try a different kind of challenge - by far one of the "hardest" challenges :)

Are any of you playing Team Scavenger? :)

message 223: by Susan (susayq ~) (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) I'm playing the Scavenger Hunt. It will be my first time :)

message 224: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (cyqua) Yay! It's really fun, I played last round :)

It Had to Be You (Chicago Stars, #1) by Susan Elizabeth Phillips by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

Rating: 5 stars
Date Finished: April 27,2013
Review: Well, I liked this one enough that I haven't gone to bed and have been reading for te last 7 hours straight and finished it LOL this was the right mix of funny, angst, sexual tension and romance. Dan and Phoebe were wonderful characters and are great together. I can't wait to read more in this series :)

Points:
Name (Dan) 5
Setting (Illinois) 6
Cover (football) 2
Plot (dysfunctional family) 3

Total 16 points

message 226: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (cyqua) WOW, well done, Susan! :)

message 227: by Susan (susayq ~) (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) Thanks! I just asked if I got plot points cause the Somerville family is highly dysfunctional, IMO :)

JenniferJ | 0 comments I'm playing scavenger hunt as well! As fun as this one has been I LOVE the scavenger one more. Maybe we'll get on the same team for that one! Still don't know what book I'm going out on a bang with but I'll post one shortly. :)

message 231: by Camilla (last edited Apr 28, 2013 06:25AM) (new)

Camilla (cyqua) OK, ladies, I finally finished my Gunsmoke book! :) I think I might have liked it more if I had been more in the mood for it instead of "having" to read it for points... :)

Gunsmoke
In Cold Blood by Truman Capote
Date finished: April 28th
Rating: 3-3½ stars

I think this was a very interesting book and definitely understand why it has become something of a staple in the mix of true events and fiction. Scary and weird story as well, which I always like. As mentioned I do think that I would have enjoyed it more if I had read it when I was more in the mood :)

Points:
Shelf: Historical (1 point)
Plot: Law enforcement (3 points)
Name: Alvin Adams Dewey (5 points)
Setting: Holcomb, Kansas (6 points)

Total points: 15

message 232: by Camilla (last edited Apr 28, 2013 06:25AM) (new)

Camilla (cyqua) Yay, sounds good that you ladies will also be doing the Scavenger Hunt! Maybe we'll end up on the same team :)

I have to say that I really enjoyed trying this challenge, but I think it's a bit too specific for me... I'm too competitive to just pick something that's not worth as many points as possible, but I also don't like to be so limited in the reading choices compared to other team challenges where you just have to match a letter or items like in Scavenger... :)
