Grimm End by S T Cameron by S T Cameron
Date finished: 3/24/13
Rating: 4 stars

Review:
I Loved this story! Had me hooked from beginning to end as I followed along Sara and her family as they discovered secrets about a family they never knew they had as bad things began to happen to them. Sara discovers a truth about herself as well. The characters were well rounded and full of life or well most of them were anyhow (alive that is LOL).

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) I'm so sorry I haven't finished my book yet. I started 2 different ones and couldn't get into them, started a third one and then then got sidetracked by the BDB book that came out Tuesday. I'll be finished by the morning at the latest.

Camilla (cyqua) Don't worry about it, Susan! We're all just having fun :)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) Grimm Week 3

The Duke Is Mine by Eloisa James
Date finished: 3/28/1
rating: 4.5 stars
Review: after 2 not so great attempts for this week, I was more than glad to find this. I have loved everything I've read by Eloisa James, and this was no exception. The heroine, Olivia, was a plump, saucy, sassy thing who's parents trained her to be a duchess;the training didn't quite take though lol Her betrothed was someone she really didn't want to marry. When she meets Quin, Duke of Sconces, she knows he is who she's meant to be with even though she's there with her sister to go threw a battery of "tests" to see if she's duchess material (hence the fact that it's a retelling of The Princess and the Pea). Needless to say, things work out for Olivia and Quin and they get their HEA :)

I can PM you the two books I found for name+setting if you want, Kattibrie? I have no idea about quality, though!

JenniferJ | 0 comments Can you pm them to me to? I am coming up with zilch this week.

message 112: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (cyqua) Yep, will do - unfortunately they are not very "well-known", but I have one of them on my shelves...

Really? Can you please post the link to the Amazon page? Maybe it's because I'm in Europe, but it doesn't even appear to exist when I look at Amazon...? Weird!

message 121: by Camilla (new)

message 122: by Susan (susayq ~) (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) Sorry it wouldn't work for you

message 123: by Kattibrie (new)

Kattibrie | 0 comments OK, Dawn and the other mods said no about the name - it has to be mentioned at least once. :( I'll look again and if I can't come up with anything I may have to read the 8-points book...

message 124: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (cyqua) That sucks, Kattibrie :-( But oh well, the most important thing is that you'll hopefully enjoy your book :-)

Edge of Sight (The Guardian Angelinos, #1) by Roxanne St. Claire

Edge of Sight by Roxanne St. Claire
Rating: 5 stars
Date finished: 3/30/13
Review: this was my first by Roxanne St. Claire and won't be my last! I think she did a wonderful job balancing action and romance. Not to mention, I was surprised by who actually was behind the murder. I'm looking forward to more in this series cause I love the Angelino/Rossi family :)

I hate that you couldn't get it either. I adored it! I'll definitely be reading the rest of this series.

message 128: by Kattibrie (new)

Kattibrie | 0 comments Wow Susan! You finished really fast! :o And you actually managed to get me intrigued with the part that the murder mystery in your book was good. Too bad I can't find it either... But I found a book that could work for setting and if the mods accept the use of the name Norman instead of just Norm it will be worth 11 points. If not - I'll read the 8 points one. ;)

message 129: by Susan (susayq ~) (new)

I did finish it quickly. Hubs went hunting this morning and I woke up at 4:30 when his alarm went off and couldn't go back to sleep. Then later in the morning when I was attempting to get dressed, I pinched a nerve in my back and had to crawl back to bed. Sooo, I've been laying with a heating pad reading.

Kattibrie | 0 comments Oh, poor you! :( I hope you're OK!

message 131: by Susan (susayq ~) (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) After crawling from the bathroom to my bed and laying flat on it I sort of passed out from the pain :( woke up when I heard Hubs ask our daughter how I felt. It was like 45 minutes later. I've taken some meds and have the heating pad and it feels a bit better at the moment. Not sure how I'll cook Easter dinner tomorrow though lol thank goodness the girls are old enough that they can do it.

Hope you feel better soon!

message 133: by Susan (susayq ~) (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) Thanks to both of you for the get better wishes. I'm hoping I won't be down long. The last time this happened I wad out of commission for about 2 weeks :( thankfully it doesn't happen often.

message 134: by JenniferJ (new)

JenniferJ | 0 comments OMG Susan I hope you get to feeling better soon! I am sorry your in pain! Big hugs and Prayers! I still ain't really picked a book out I am satisfied with and here you is done and reviewed one. LMAO

message 135: by Kattibrie (new)

Kattibrie | 0 comments Again - I'm so sorry, Susan, I hope you get better soon! :(

Yay! The mods approved it - I'll be reading Mindkiller A Novel of the Near Future by Spider Robinson for setting (1982) and name (Norman, called Norm at least once) for 11 points. ;)

message 136: by Susan (susayq ~) (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) Happy Easter! And if you don't celebrate it, happy Sunday!

I'm felling a little better today. I've gotten up and dressed, but I'm having trouble bending over. I parked myself in the living room, so I can be sociable with my family today LOL

message 137: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (cyqua) Happy Easter! :)

Glad to hear you're feeling a little better, Susan!

I'm doing absolutely nothing today - have made some Danish traditional Easter food that I'll have for dinner (I can't believe it's already 6!), but otherwise nothing.. We just had the change to Daylight Savings time last night and I feel like that one hour made this day just FLY right by! At least it's still light out ;)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) How's the reading going ladies?

message 139: by Kattibrie (new)

Kattibrie | 0 comments Ugh, I'm still at 38% of mine. These days I can't seem to concentrate on reading at all (and the fact the yesterday I "re-discovered" Skyrim isn't helping)... :( I hope that I'll be able to finish tomorrow, though. :)

message 140: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (cyqua) I'm finishing up my book - I'm working now, but should be able to finish it tonight :) Sorry for the delay, there's been so many other things I'd rather read to be honest...

Don't apologize! There are times when I've got a book for a challenge and I kill myself to get through it and don't enjoy it at all. And that is so sad cause I love to read.

message 142: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (cyqua) I finished my book! :)

Firmin: Adventures of a Metropolitan Lowlife by Sam Savage
Date finished: April 5th
Rating: 3 stars

Firmin by Sam Savage

This book was OK.. It's quite hard for me to say exactly what "went wrong" as nothing really did. What I mean is that the idea was really great (I thought) and I can't put my finger on why the whole book didn't end up being as great as I had expected... But it was a fun read and a bit different from your normal books :)

Kattibrie | 0 comments Hm... I'm still debating with myself whether to read the book I had previously planned (for 14 points) or another one I didn't wanna read till I saw it could work for 12 points for this... I could finish the second one faster though... Do we need the 2 extra points?

message 146: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (cyqua) Kattibrie wrote: "Hm... I'm still debating with myself whether to read the book I had previously planned (for 14 points) or another one I didn't wanna read till I saw it could work for 12 points for this... I could ..."

I personally think you should read whichever one you would prefer :-) We can always use more points, but the point is for it to be fun, so I say just go with whichever you feel like :-)
I'm coming up a bit short on inspiration though, so it would be great if you would send both books to me. :-)

Oh, Jennifer, I'm sorry to hear that you've been unwell! Hope you're feeling a bit better now. I don't think there's a time limit, so if you still want to read the book at some point, I guess you could. Otherwise I say, don't worry too much about it :-) Don't think we're in the running for anything anyway :-)

message 149: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (cyqua) Thanks for the message, Kattibrie! I'll have a look around and see if I can find something or I'll probably read the 12 point book too - been too long anyway :-)

message 150: by Susan (susayq ~) (new)

Susan (susayq ~) (susayq) Jennifer, sorry to hear that you were feeling bad. Don't worry about the POINTS if you dint want to read another book.
