Review:
This was a reread for me. It's one of my all time favorite series. I picked up lots of little odds and ends this time. In Book 1 we really get to see more of Terrible's bad a$$ side and its obvious from jump street how he feels about Chess. Ms. Kane really is a creative mastermind. The Downside world is so unique and how I can love such "horribly messed up" characters is beyond me. But Ms. Kane makes it where you do!

Vanya is a demon killer who's turned into a Grimm (kind of like a warrior/guardian angel). Silence is her mentor and trainer. He trusts no one and has had a horrible past. He has a hard time letting anyone in. They both love each other but in typical PNR fashion lots of miscommunication. The last half was ok and like in typical PNR the HEA was sweet it was just getting there that was the challenge! The love scenes were pretty hot and the demon fighting was ok. This was just too cookie cutter PNR for me with a lack of depth. Not sure I'll read anymore of these books but book 1 sounded more interesting than this one. And that also may be my problem I jumped in the middle of the series but with books like these I'm not sure going in order is necessary.

Book: When Beauty Tamed the Beast by Eloisa James
Read: March 23(
Rating & Review: 3-stars. I did like the story in the 2nd half much better. The plot was pretty good but I didn't click with the author's tongue -n-cheek humor.
Piers was prickly like the beast and Linnet was essentric like Belle. I did enjoy the story more than the rating would suggest but the delivery was not that entertaining.
Piers had an accident as a result of his drug addicted father's impairment that left him slightly disabled. He walked with a cane and with severe pain if he put much pressure on that leg. So for "the ton", Piers was unattractive though he was a future Duke. Linnet on the other hand who was a great beauty whose broken engagement to a prince coupled with some coincidences rendered her "soiled" in the tons eyes.
Piers dad attempted to match up his foul attitude/mouthed Doctor son with the great beauty with the bad reputation. Both were not interested but decided to humor the Duke and an alliance/friendship was formed.
You can guess how things progressed from there.
What I did love was Piers dedication to his profession. He was a great doctor. His bedside manners were beastly though. I loved Linnet's outspoken and honest disposition but her vanity was unseemly!
All in all, it was a decent read.

Are you enjoying it?

Yea, I could tell I was supposed to be chuckling...except I wasn't. I kinda smiled, but not chuckling out loud like when I read Lisa Kleypas

I know what you mean...

how is your book coming?
Laura, did you finish? What did you think?
the 2nd half was more angsty/emotional, which is more of my style.

It was quite entertaining book with good humor that made me smile many times. I loved how the beast (Piers) saved Miss Linnet in the end :) I alos like the fairy tale touch that the book had.

@jenne: I was so disappointed in Serpents Kiss . It started off so promising and then it nose dived into the abyss.
So disappointed. I can't believe he cut off his dragon family including Dragos behind Carling--mate or not. That was too extreme and frankly unbelievable
