I am not sure why people disliked this book. i really enjoyed it. I also don't get why people think Sookie will end up with Sam just because she used the cluviel dor on him.
In this story, Sookie and Eric are at a cross roads. King Felipe came to see Eric to find out what went down with Victor (how was killed in that epic battle last book) and also to punish Eric. In addition, Felipe came to enforce that contract marriage that Eric's sire Appias had made prior to dying on Sookie's lawn. Eric feels like he must obey Appias post mortem, and Sookie feels that Eric could chose to disregard that directive and stay true to her--thus they are at a cross roads with their relationship. Bill feels bad for Sookie hurting, but Hope springs eternal in his heart.
Tara finally has her twins with JB and Sookie's brother gets engaged. Now I feel like the author really dropped the ball with Sookie's brother and his whole panther culture in favor of those stupid fae. I am so glad the Fae have gone back to Fairy. Damn those faeries, they are too much trouble. But the "bad" fae was always obvious to me because I never trusted him at all. But they took up too much story space so I look forward to the next book being Vamp and Shifters and Sookie's love life.
I can't wait for Dead Ever After next month and I am still Team Bill forever.

Originally I gave this 4 ★'s I'm bumping it up to 5 now. I enjoyed this the second time much more than the first. Even though the later books haven't been what the earlier ones were I just love the characters so much. I know there's been much speculation as to who Sookie will end up with. I've always been team Eric but after finishing this one I'm softening back up to Bill as well. I will be really mad though if she ends up with Sam! I'm glad I read this again before the last one comes out next month. This book just opened up so many questions for the finale! Anyone who knows me knows that I love anything fae. I'm actually glad that this book had the fae stuff come to a conclusion though. I feel that aspect of this series has been hashed out plenty!

I love a good Highlander and time travel book. This one didn't disappoint! Conner was pretty hot and Cate was a tough heroine. I will definitely be reading more of these. This was the perfect blend of love, action, history and the fae.
Setting, 6 points
Plot, time travel/bizarre 3 points

Book: Rock Chick by Kristin Ashley
Finished: 4/11/13
Rating & Review: ★★. I just didn't connect with this book. I think I need more of that "angsty" emotional love connection. This was more of a timing issue. Indy and Lee cared about each other, but timing was never quite right, until now. Of course now, there were other external factors and as well baggage piled up from their respective pasts. family considerations and of course, what to do about the diamonds!
I will read book 2 sometime in the future because I decide how I feel about the series, but I can say that I didn't like this book.

I loved every minut of this book. I felt like i was in Japan with Sayuri and going where she went and saw what she saw. It really is one of the best books i have read for long time :)

Book: A Touch of Dead by Charlaine Harris
Finished: 4/15/13
Rating & Review: ★★ ½
I guess since I have read all the Sookie books, I found most of this book repetitive. I also didn't get any "added value". I didn't care about Claudia's death as I disliked ALL the fairies and their drama. But I will say that I didn't know there were 3 of them. Again, i don't know if made a difference, but...
In One Word Answer, I had hoped to see something that would make me see how the Queen planned for Bill to seduce Sookie, but there wasn't any real interaction with Bill and the Queen, so that pissed me off.
(That was one of underlying issues that separated Bill and Sookie, so I wanted more information on that snake of a queen, but I wasn't satisfied)
Dracula Night was okay--love Pam! i hope she gets her own spinoff series or book.
Basically, I could have done without reading this book. I am waiting for Dead Ever After---Hands Held high for a Bill & Sookie reunion.
