I knew it! Something showed up on the iPad recording, and yep something shady is going on with Evan.
Something shady/funny with the Ian guy. Poor kid has a doll for a girlfriend.

Guessing Syd is alive AND we now know she is in BIG trouble. Also, is she pregnant or not? Evan seems like a sleeze-ball, but at least he confessed (FINALLY) to what was going on with him and Syd.
When Tim was almost killed why did he go back to his home? He needs to me holing up somewhere the bad guys can't find him.
Glad the police weren't stupid enough to fall for the cocaine frame-up.

Also, quite a cliff-hanger there at the end of chapter 24. A sobbing girl on the phone? Syd or not!?

Yeah, Tim never acted in his best interest. His mind was clouded with the one thought of finding Syd. And yep, Syd is in big trouble!

Funny about the flower delivery guy!
I can't think what Syd could possibly have done to be in so much trouble... and she could be pregnant on top of that...
I still think Patty must know something, and maybe her old boyfriend too.
I won't comment on the end of Chapter 24 since I read the first page of Chapter 25 :)

Re: going home after the attempt on his life and not even checking the entire house for intruders; they did come in through the basement window the last time, so how can it look ok from the front door?
After the suspicions I’ve developed for everyone else, relieved to hear that the police think that Morgan at the Second Chance Shelter is on the up-and-up. I really did think she was running some sort of racket. I just can’t figure out the Seattle angle.
Something’s in the stuffed moose, huh?
Ian is carrying a body? I didn’t see that coming! Does this having a “girlfriend” rule him out as a suspect?
Tim probably thinks that he needs to stick close to home in case Syd calls him to get her out of trouble.

I, too, was waiting for the iPod pin to drop.☺

I think I wrote the same thing somewhere in these discussions. I would have found a seedy hotel to hide out in!

Really!! I couldn't understand her putting the moves on Tim either. Too weird.

Also, I was waiting for the iPod tip. BUT, you would think Tim would have wanted to listen to everything on that IPod after he found the bit of Syd and Evan.
Off to read the next section. Who is this girl on the phone??
April wrote: "What the heck is up with Veronica Harp putting the moves on Tim?" really threw me! Now I have to get back to the book and she who Ian was hauling out of his van. It can't be Sydney because I'm not even 1/2 half way through the book! "
Yeah, does make you wonder about Veronica. Wonder if you should consider her a suspect, right?

Lol, I agree with you 100%, April. "DANGER Will Robinson!" (Hope I'm not dating myself with that quote!)
As an aside, I am reading a series where the female protagonist has named one breast Will and the other Robinson! It's a very fun series and starts with First Grave on the Right.

Yep! Sad thing is, I'm sure there are lots of people out there who do that!

I agree! It appeared to me that Bob was in denial and just didn't want to face the mess. Poor Evan!

The series is a fairly light, page-turning one, with some darker moments. There is a lot of witty humor in it. I've really been enjoying the books.

I'm glad to see so much discussion over this book. Those of you who are just now reading it, enjoy the ride!
