Ann (annrumsey) | 466 comments So in chapter 37... after Tim meets Carol Swain, who turns out to have given birth to his child through artificial insemination and knew who he was on sight, Carol asserts that Patty couldn't have known a thing about the investigation and the files of details about Tim in a travel bag hidden under Carol's bed. okay. This is when the coincidences start to lose me a bit more, two half sisters are both missing and everything is connected through Patty we now start to realize. Of course none of this is known to the police and they are unable to locate and arrest Tim for the string of death and mayhem he is leaving in his wake seeking Sydney.
In the end Patty's actions to gain Tim's love are just sad; Tim's inability to grasp what was going on with Patty seems genuine, but Carol's complete lack of awareness or care about Patty is at least partly to blame. Both Mother and daughter had hoped Tim would be the knight on a white horse to swoop in and love them and save them. Something much further from that is what they get.

Ya gotta appreciate the constant twists and turns.

Rooo-ad Trip!☺

Yeah, I just knew that Patty had found out about her father and that was how she became friends with Syd. It was just too much of a coincidence, otherwise.

The author led us away from suspecting Patty because she went missing, but SURPRISE or maybe not such a surprise she turns out to be involved in trying to find Syd for the bad guys. Geeesh, no wrath like a woman scorned! Tim blew it when he told her she couldn't stay with him, I guess, even though he was doing the right thing.

Debra wrote: "Tim blew it when he told her she couldn't stay with him, I guess, even though he was doing the right thing. ..."

I'm a bit surprised that she didn't stay for a while. She was offered "the daughter's room" for the night. I can imagine her lying in that bed pretending. I think she would have tried to manipulate a few more days out of Tim, in an effort to prove that she could be a good daughter as well. After all, he did seem to like her wild spirit; never thought to tell Syd that Patti was too much of a bad influence for her.

Yeah, but Tim got all strict on her and she got pissed off, BIG TIME!

Josée Leon (join_bookland) | 144 comments Just finished the book. Well, Tim certainly went on a rampage at the dealership! That after he trows up when he sees a dead Kate. I guess he was fighting for his survival. But still... did he have to drag, crush that guy to death? He could have let him go once his gun fell, lol. It brought back memories of P2 (movie). Has anyone seen it? Pretty gruesome...
Ha, and I knew Patty knew what was going on! Too bad she had to try to get a parent's love this way...
Well, I give the book 3 stars. It was pretty entertaining although I found it to not be the best writing. Oh, and Mr. King gets a mention in the book too. Is this why he likes this author :) ?

April | 44 comments Does Bob and Tim remind anyone of Lethal Weapon? The more I read, the more I picture Danny Glover and Mel Gibson.

April | 44 comments WHAT???!!!! What kind of an ending was that????

April | 44 comments Josee, Uncle Steve's mention didn't go unnoticed! LOL I think Uncle Steve loves everything he reads. His reviews can be so unpredictable! He loved Life of Pi and so did I! I gave it 5 stars and added it to my favorites shelf. Then there is this book. It was a quick read which kept my interest but wasn't exactly a piece of "literature". It was also a bit corny in spots. Way too coincidental but also funny. Besides, it was a read for entertainment purposes! Perfect beach read as it doesn't require a whole lot of concentration. And, it would make a great movie similar to Lethal Weapon. Hmmmm...I'm thinking 3 stars.

April | 44 comments however, I should deduct a star for the ending! GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! I would have liked a little more. It didn't have to be much. Maybe 3-4 pages to sum it all up.

Josée Leon (join_bookland) | 144 comments I want to read Life of Pi. It's now officially on my TBR list! Have you seen the movie? It looks good. I want to read the book before I see it though.

I know what you mean about the ending although I didn't mind it... This book as a movie, I'm not sure I'd want to watch it... :)

April | 44 comments Yes, I saw the movie and I loved it, too! I highly recommend it. I read it in one sitting.

If Fear the Worst was a movie, I would want to see it simply because I had read the book.

Interesting! Never thought of that. Loved that movie!

Yeah, it really ended abruptly! I didn't like that. And there are some loose ends to tied up. Like what happened to the PI, Arnie Chilton?

I guess we should be posting our final impressions in the Overall Impressions thread. I'll give my review there.

Read the book, then see the movie. Both were great! Have tissue handy for the movie!

Josée Leon (join_bookland) | 144 comments April and Debra, I've now added Life of Pi to my list for THE toppler!

Good going, Josee! I hope you love it as much as I did!

Just when you think there might be a truce!!! Tim decides to give Bob some leeway and then Bob becomes idiotic again!

Linda Boyd (boydlinda95gmailcom) | 598 comments Right!!! Not too sure about Bob, poor thing, but I guess he is kinda living in Tim's shadow.

Linda Boyd (boydlinda95gmailcom) | 598 comments I didn't like the ending at all, I'm like Debra too many loose ends. Like did Susie go back with Tim or did she stay with Bob out of pity????

I could totally see thus book as a lifetime movie. I think it would make a good TV movie.
