Hating Comparisons of Twilight and HP

I hate when people compare harry potter and twilight I mean I love twilight to death and i am on the 3rd going on 4th book of harry potter and i love the books so far but whenever I see interviews or people discussing the books it makes me mad how they keep saying is stephenie meyer the new j.k. rowling they r two strong women writers that created top bestselling series and I don't think there needs to be competition those books have nothing in common but there just top bestselling series so why compare them j.k. rowling has her mind which is incredible and she will always be remembered and stephenie meyer has hers and her mind is very sweet and passionate which will be remembered too and it just get really upset when there compared

Definitly agree. Besides, I don't think Twilight and Harry Potter has anything in common. I like Harry Potter, but I LOVE Twilight.

I think harry potter is a little cheesy and overdramatic, and I looooooooovvve twilight to death and theyre way to different to be compared. I agree!!

i think hp sometimes overuses certain words (once they used seized three times in four sentences or something like that...)
but still they are two very different books and the only thing they have in common is that they are both hugely popular and they are both fantasy.

I read both series. And loved HP, great characters, solid storyline, great ending - except the absoloute final bit when they tie up all the loose endings (THAT SUCKED). But I truely prefer the Twilight series. To me they are completely different. Twilight is romantic and about forbidden love etc, whereas HP is more to do with the magical side, friendship, etc. I think people need to look at them as different books and stop comparing them. Its all down to personal taste. However I have only read the HP series once, and would probably never read them again, whereas Twilight i have read the series 4 times and wouldn't think twice about reading them again.

I love both HARRY POTTER AND TWILIGHT, and it's really unfair when people compare the books because they are both writen by(in my opinion) AMAZING, genius authors!! I hate it when people decide to hate twilight just because they think the first chapter is awfully boring! the books ARE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC AND I REALLY HOPE THAT PEOPLE EVEN NEW TO THIS FANTASY/ROMANTIC GENRE WILL READ THE BOOKS!! HARRY POTTER ROCKS TOO!! and if anything in this post is offending or false I do not mean to be offending or inaccurate in any way, plzzz forgive me!!

Sarah Jean - that is annoying! I guess I didn't notice it with Twilight or HP, so it must not have been too bad. I recently read a book where the author kept saying "fingernail of a moon" even though several weeks had gone by and the moon would have phased from new moon to half moon to full moon... now THAT is irritating.

OMG stop the presses I must be hearing things!!!!! SARAH JEAN THATS SO GREAT!!!! Dont get me wrong there are books out there that are a lot better than Twilight but for some reason it just sucks you in.
