Series book with parentheses in the titles

If you add the series title in parentheses (Starring Jules, #1) behind the title paretheses, than the last parentheses should be replaced by the series title on the book page. Although it is no longer obligatory, many librarians add the series title to the book title to make it come up in the search. This is especially helpful with foreign editions that often have a different series title. However, I'm not quite sure whether this is the best solution. Perhaps you should rather see the "as herself" as a subtitle and use a colon (--> Starring Jules: As Herself). As for the second question, all you need to do is going to the series page, for example, through the series link on the book page, hitting the edit button and then "add books" where you can search for the book.
I just saw that Beth is a GR author so you should also make a request in the Merge GR authors thread to merge the two profiles (just provide the links of the two profiles there).

It's not optimal, because we use those for specific things. Instead, I suggest treating it as a subtitle. I made it Starring Jules: As Herself.
