Hi! I am an author and I recently added a book that I will be self-publishing soon to the database.

Curious. There are other books in that series, that have no ISBN as well, but are clearly defined as part of the series. For example:

I have a YA series, the first book is not out yet but I will posting free ebook stories from the series. the first one is already posted and is shown as 0.5 in the series if I create more stories and post them how would I categorize them? 0.5 0.6? I don't understand how it works.

If there is one prequel to the first book, then it is either #0 or #0.5 (I believe either is considered correct at this time). If there is more than one prequel, then they should be numbered 0.1, 0.2, ... etc.

0 is usually used for full-volume prequels; .5 for novellas/shorts.

But yes, if there are multiple prequels, numbering them as Vicki suggests seems reasonable.
