I think I'm in the camp of "sacred books." While I think the sculptures are beautiful, I get a queasy feeling in the pit of my stomach when I see this. When I was growing up I didn't receive many books for holidays or birthdays. My parents didn't have the money to buy me books for the most part, either. Now that I'm adult I collect them and they remain my most prized possessions. Plus, I always had this romantic idea of the future in which the cultures that follow or discover our planet long after we're gone analyze our culture through the beauty of the literature we left behind.
Maybe I'm just overly sentimental when it comes to the written word...
