Good Luck!!!!
Good Luck!!!!
Absolutely. But don't forget to put a box of Kleenex by your side.
I can't believe there's someone alive that HASN'T read this book.
I depends if are willing to put in the time yes if aren't no because this book deserves the time.
If you realy like reading then this book on anna frankes Life this is a good book to read
I read the book last year I was absolutely moved. I loved it. I recommend this book to everyone because they will be moved when they read it. It is absolutely wonderful and a fantastic story of a young girl
I visited the Anne Frank house and was truly inspired, but I didn't like the book at all. A good history book about those times would be a better read.
Yes, it is worth reading to experience Anne's life told in her Diary.
Read this book. It gives a personal side to a horrific event in history, and that viewpoint is from one who has an unvarnished view of it all.
Anne is such a frank person (NO PUN INTENDED, seriously) who doesn't mince words and is honest about life. That is something today's society needs - to be up front and honest. Anne exemplifies this, heartbreakingly, as she struggles through the unimaginable stress of the Holocaust.

Having just been to Amsterdam again and visited the attic and read excerpts of the actual diary, I'd say read this book. It was as moving as visiting the Killing Fields in Cambodia, with all of their horrors vivid and preserved for tourists, so those few words by a wonderfully spirited little girl really are remarkable.
This book is a must read. It is about the time period. It is about what she is going through. Every person should read this book so that together we can say "Never Again."
not unless you love biographies or are a 14 year old kid (to girls mostly) who is just *discovering* the opposite sex.
It shows something we should all never forget, from history. Yes, this sort of thing still goes on today - sadly - but hopefully never again on this scale. To read of real people, including a young girl who never had chance to live her life to the full, enduring this fearful situation and trying to come through it with dignity and humour helps us to understand so much about the human spirit. It makes the sufferers of the holocaust into people we can empathise with more easily because we come to know them.
yes you should read it, it is very good, written by just a 12 year old and it follows her life through this three year time. you really get to know anne and the struggles she went through are unbeilievable. a truley remarkable book.
I think everyone should read "The Diary of Anne Frank" the story will take you through so many emotions at least in my opinion, it will make you laugh and cry.
Although it did touch on historical event(s), I did not find it boring, I know I have learned alot and I think it made me much more emphatic.

By all means, you should read the book! I just reread it and it is still great!
have you seen the movie that inspirate from this book ? the title is "freedom writer" that is also good movie. From good book to good movie, thats awesome .
I see you liked "Life of Pi" which another excellent book that makes you think. I read the Diary of Anne Frank when I was 14 or 15 and it had such a strong affect on my thinking. You should find it easier than "Life of Pi". The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom is worth a read too. It is set around the same time but about a 50 year old woman who helped to hide jews in the Netherlands.
I think this book would be an excellent choice while choosing whether or not to read it. Although we have to read it for English i think it is a very interesting story. Even though it happened in times of the holocaust you can link what Anne feels to us teenagers today. Anne not understanding the seriousness of the situation the Jews,(herself) are in wants to be free to speak and have fun. She is a little rebelish but has a rough time experiencing what is actually going on in her world. Being forced to hide and not seeing her friends again.
You should definitely read it, the first time I read it I hated it. But the second time I understood it better and loved it.
This is one of the books that everyone should read. It gives a very human touch to a period of time that should never be forgotten.

This book is not just another holocaust book. Instead of just more statistics this book is about an actual young and innocent girl and her family whose lives were destroyed by hatred. It is easy to forget that that the WWII era was not the first or the last genocide to plague humanity. this book is as relevant today as it was 70 years ago. I was lucky enough to go to the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam. If you ever get a chance to go yourself it may change your life.

It is a blend of hard realities and wonderful imaginations of a young girl...A must read I would say!!!
Of course I don't see the reason to why you haven't done so already. This is one of the top five books to read along with Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, To kill a mockingbird by Harper Lee, 1964 by George Orwell -(absolute favorite btw >__<) and The Hobbit - also a favorite :D
I say five but I need to add one more Night from -The Night Trilogy
by Elie Wiesel gosh this story is SO good it's shocking, sad, and gets you falling off your seats with each page you read. My only regret is that I did not find this book earlier, so you MUST read this.

Consider an audiobook. Hearing a young teen's journal...for me the impact was greater than reading. Helped me remember my teenage years, so many contrasting and roller coaster emotions. Hearing the voice of Ann gave her life and gave depth to my understanding.
Oh most definitley Vasundhra, I think everyone young person should read it.
@Mark van Vollenhoven -- thanks for the link in your comment. It makes a lot of sense. Each generation's experience shapes the experience and I can see how someone who reads Anne Frank at age 12 in 2013 might react completely differently than I did at age 12 in 1963.
It is an exceptional book worth your time, if you can handle real life stories that is.
Everyone should read this book at some point in their lives.
I personally haven't finished the book, but it's really boring in the beggening (bdoon mujamala)
Understanding that it was real helps keep your perspective on this story. She wasn't expecting it to last so long or to end so sadly. It was her diary, like any teen's diary. But the circumstances were unique and her way of writing genuine. Depends on your own life, age and interests whether you'll 'like' it.
Honestly, please do. It is honestly one of the best books I have ever read because of its brutal honesty on life. It has even changed the way I think about things and has been such an inspiration to me.
