Looking forward to an amazing time here <3

Haha- you'll have a blast :D

Hi! I'm Emily and I just joined tonight. I read like it's my job and my currently reading list is too long for comfort. I love reading contemporary, YA, fantasy, and sci-fi. I write and it doesn't hurt that I've been told I write really well. I talk a lot (hence the extremely long post). My favorite books are Divergent, TFIOS, TPOBAW, The Mortal Instruments, Harry Potter, The Book Thief, and everything else on my favorites list. I take a computer programming class in school so I know basic CSS, HTML, and javascript. I ride horses and I love to eat. Stop typing Emily! Okay, I'm done. :)

Something random: I have an extreme phobia to ET lol its embarrassing.

Thank you! Oh, I know exactly what you're saying! I was a little late to the reading bandwagon so I had to make sure I didn't go on any articles that even mentioned the word Allegiant! Let me know when you finish them!!

Also what were your thoughts on the Allegiant ending? Cause I personally didn't like it at all...

Thank you! I feel really welcome here; it's awesome!!
** SPOILER ALERT **
I didn't personally "like" it but I see why Veronica did what she did.
Tris was becoming a more selfless person throughout the series and I think in this final act... she was showing that no matter how bad her brother hurt her, she loved him, and she was once again willing to sacrifice herself for him and all those others she would be saving. She knew that Caleb would not make it out of that room... I think in that moment she had yet another choice -- choose to remain bitter over what he had done and let him go in OR swallow her pride and take his place.
I think for the series as a whole... it was a very powerful ending for her character. In the sense that she had encountered SO many different trials and even "cheated" death a few times... Insurgent I think was when she said that she wasn't finished here (wanting to live) and then in the last book she asked her mom if she was done. I think that was a really powerful moment.
Now, I'm not saying that I'm happy she died... because I certainly am not! I wish that she had survived and her and Four lived together forever... but for the sake of the where the story was leading all along; I don't think that could have happened and been as powerful. But, that's just my opinion. I am not happy but I understand it now. Especially after hearing from Veronica herself on why she did it.
I think that without her dying we would not have been able to get a glimpse at how REAL Four was... how he grieved her in such a real way. I loved that instead of following the pattern of many books, or movies, where the character loses someone and is back super happy again a year later. I don't think that happens in real life. It can, yes, but not usually. I was really heartbroken that he had to live without her but I was happy that we got to see that real side of him. Someone else on here said something about how we would not have been able to see how much he truly loved her... when he did the zipline... he was so terrified of heights but he conquered his fears for Tris! I thought that was beautiful and really touching.
The final line in the book will always be one of my favorite and it is hanging in my room...
"Life damages us, every one. We can't escape that damage. But now, I am also learning this: We can be mended. We mend each other."
Sorry for such a long post! Haha, you did ask my what my thoughts were!

Thank you! I feel really welcom..."
And yeah I guess I do kinda understand that, but I felt like it just didn't fit with the rest of the series. Like that ending was just so intense (and I felt like it was supposed to be deep and meaningful) but I didn't like that since the rest of the series didn't give off that vibe at all. I actually am totally fine with her dying I just thought the execution was extremely poor. And I didn't like Four's entire side of the story. Like I love him, but in Allegiant he was just different and the way he acted after Tris' death wasn't right in my opinion either. Like I'm not saying he should be all fine and dandy, but I just felt like I was waiting. And yeah that is a nice final line, but I still just didn't enjoy the book :(
Haha it's a great opinion! I enjoy discussing books (especially when people have different views) so I appreciate the long post :P

Just finished reading Divergent. Awesome Book! Trying to get a hold of Insurgent now. I hope to join in more discussions. Thanks.
