Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Don't you just hate when you are trying to read your favorite author and just don't have the books? Well this is thread is the answer to that problem. Because in this thread, for all that are willing to participate, can likely have their reading dreams come true. :) This thread will be for ebook lenders and people that are seeking to find a particular ebook but just don't have it available where they are. Heads up, this will be a great thread to help some of us when it comes to finding books for challenges.

Please sign up here if you are interested. Tell us your name, what ereader you have and what books you are willing to share as well. And for those that are interested in a particular book a lender has, if you could please contact the person via PM to get necessary emails and lending details. I really hope this helps some of us readers out that can't always access the books in our area.

Ok, am borrowing this from another of my groups in regards to Lending books in this thread:

General Information:

1. Requests should be made via PM.
2. If you’re requesting a book, you MUST provide a real email address, NOT your kindle email.
3. You have 7 days from the time you receive an email from Amazon or Barnes & Noble to accept the loan.
4. Once accepted, the book/s will stay on your device for 14 days.
5. Lenders: your book/s will not be available to you for the duration of their loan.
6. The book will return to its original owner when it’s been deleted or after 14 days have passed, whichever comes first.
7. Books may be loaned ONCE. Once you have loaned a book, remember to remove it from your lendable shelf.

How to lend with the Kindle

1. If you have not done so, create a shelf for your lendable books.
2. When someone requests a book from you, make sure the email address provided is an actual email, NOT their kindle email.
3. Go to Amazon and search for the book in the Kindle Store. At the top of the book's page, there will be a link that says ‘Loan this book’. Simply click on it, enter the recipient’s email address and send!

or

1. At the top right of Amazon’s home page, click on ‘Your Digital Items’.
2. Click on ‘Manage Your Kindle’ and sign in.
3. Search for the book; go to ‘Actions’, then ‘Loan this title’. Click on it, enter the recipient’s email address and send!

How to lend with the Nook

To Lend from your Nook:

1. Go to 'My B&N Library'.
2. Find the book you want to lend and click 'Item Details and Options'.
3. Click 'Lend', 'Add a New Contact', then enter the recipient's name and email address.
4. Click 'Submit' and you're done!

or

To Lend from your Computer:

1. At the top right of Barnes and Noble's homepage go to 'My Account', then 'My NOOK Library'.
2. Find the book you want to lend and click 'Lend Me'.
3. Enter the recipient's email address, hit the 'Lend' button and you're done!

Betty Hogan (bhogan) | 12 comments I have all of the books and I have them in ePub and PDFs my name is Betty

message 3: by Emily (new)

Emily | 38 comments you can't loan out books in epub or pdf. It is illegal to email books. You can loan through Amazon or Barnes and Noble though.

message 4: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Thank you for that Emily. I was just going to PM Betty if she had them on her Lending shelf on her Kindle or Nook.

message 5: by Emily (new)

Emily | 38 comments I didn't know it until they pointed it out on another lending site in a group I am in.

message 6: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Ok, I tweaked the initial post and I think this sounds more user friendly.

message 7: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Hey all interested in lending. I have a nook and am more than willing to lend books! Would love to see this thread be more active. So I know who is willing to lend. Also it's a good thing for people who may not be able to buy a book because of bills and such, hey, life happens. :)

message 8: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments Hi all, I have all the SK books up to Asheron, I had a baby shortly after that so I started buying E-books instead so if anyone wants or need those books let me know, they are in a box until kids are grown enough not to tear or draw on them.
Not SK but I've also got the Merry Gentry series and some Kelly Armstrong.
Actually I have a pretty huge collection that is all in storage so if anyone is after anything just say ;)

message 9: by Emily (new)

Emily | 38 comments I have Time Untime let me check if it is lendable!

message 10: by Emily (new)

Emily | 38 comments Nope Macmillan apparently sucks.

message 11: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Really? I could have sworn that she published through St. Martin press at least the paper books. I'm not sure about her ebooks though.

message 12: by Emily (new)

Emily | 38 comments Amazon says Macmillan is the publisher of Time Untime and I can't loan it. If you want the paperback or hardcover go to the local library. I stopped buying the books cause of the ridiculous pricing and now get them from the library.

message 13: by Emily (new)

Emily | 38 comments I did not like it..............i'm sorry LOL I think the books are getting worse and need to get focused back on some of the other characters. Don't hate me people!

message 14: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I liked Time Untime personally.

And nothing wrong with stating your opinion Emily on the series or the books. But could you take further Dark-Hunter discussions over to the DH discussion thread please? I kind of wanted this thread for only peeps open to lending the books if they have them. Thanks.

message 15: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Jackson (paperbackdiva) I'd like to borrow some of the earlier DH books for the Kindle.

message 16: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments That's great Andrea. In the process of still trying to figure out a way to do so. If that is even possible for a Kindle.

message 17: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Jackson (paperbackdiva) The only DH book I have on Kindle right now is Acheron. But it doesn't allow loaning. I have lots of paranormal and historical romance books and will loan them if anyone is interested.

message 18: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments Hello all, sadly due to lack of space I am selling all my DH books, I don't have a list right now but I know I have all the books up to Acheron, along with the dark hunter companion.
I now have the whole collection on kindle so I don't need them anymore.
I'm only after a token payment and postage costs so if anyone is interested let me know. I'm happy to post anywhere but the costs might be high if not in the UK. I would love for these books to go to a fan rather than a charity shop so let me know ;)

message 19: by Manuela (last edited Aug 02, 2013 03:44AM) (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments I'd love to get my hands on Valerius and Vane. Are you selling the whole lot or can we grab bits and pieces?

You could mail them to my mom in Germany, I am hopefully there in December...

message 20: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments Well I'm just trying to find a good home for them so if no one wants the whole lot I would be happy to split them :)

message 21: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments send me a message for how much you want, either for the books I would want or the whole lot.

message 22: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments I will sort out how many I've got and let you know :)

message 23: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Ally, you have no books I can compare mine with. :(

Send me a message when it comes to the monitary things. :)

message 24: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments Lol ok I've read that first sentence out a couple of times and I'm not sure what you mean? It might take me a week or so to get a list together, I've got to weigh them to figure outa rough postage cost at the same time.

message 25: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Oh, sorry Ally, I just realized you are totally new here. I checked out your book lists, but there are none. I do fully understand that it takes a while to set everything up here and list things when one has a life next to the virtual world of the internet.

message 26: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments So heeeeey I wanted to see if anyone had a kindle and was willing to lend a particular book if you have it :-D

message 27: by Ora (new)

Ora (oeamis) I have both a kindle and nook. What book are you looking for?

message 28: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Q: Which female(s) wear a wig to obscure their identity in the series?

Clue: It's been fun while it lasted. But time to bring it all home...

message 29: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Just gauging interest. Are any members willing to lend via e-readers? Wanting to create a list of users who are and the books/authors they have and are able to/willing to lend.

message 30: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Good luck with that care bear. That was part of my initial intentions with this thread. But no takers just yet.

message 31: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Lol this may become a dead thread but I wanted to at least give it one mor chance.

message 32: by Marie (new)
