Similarities but TV show Damon is funnier and sexier. Adrian is just more sarcastic and sensual.
I really want Ian Somerhalder to play Adrian in the Vampire Academy movie though. Cuz he is an amazing actor and i trust him to do the part justice.

Damon is a bit darker, don't you think? And meaner? Don't get me wrong, I love Damon, but he has killed a lot of people and I don't think Adrian would be capable of that. And if Adrian was going to hurt some one it would not be for his own enjoyment!!! There are defiantly similarities there, though. They have identical senses of humor and are both unspeakably sexy! But all in all I wouldn't say Adrian and Damon are that similar.

I can see why you would make that comparison. Both characters do share some similar personality traits.

But I agree with Weird. There is also some major differences between the characters. Adrian would never kill anyone unless it was in self-defense whereas Damon enjoys hurting and killing people.

I completely agree with Wierd, in terms of personality a bit sure they are alike but they do have major differences that makes them them :3 i love both damon and Adrian~

Don't get me wrong I do like Adrian, just purely in my opinion he is weak because of how much he relies on the drink and he kind of gets around with this poor me attitude (once again only my take on his character).

Well, in his defense he's dealing with spirit. How would you feel as to have an amazing ability but with the idea of you losing your sanity as well? Not to mention what rose does to him (depending on whether you've finished VA).

Yes h kind of does! I actually picture Ian Somerhaulder playing Adrian in the VA movies!! I can't (and don't want to) think of anyone else filling the role of Adrian! I actually picture Ian (to an extent) whenever I'm reading about Adrian :) He would be GREAT!! I do think that in a way they are similar, but they are also completely different characters, though I do sort of see them being friends (if they ever met) I think it would be hilarious to see what it would be like of they met (and now I'm going to write a short story on that, cuz that's a great idea and great practice for writing bad boys haha)!!

But ANYWAYS!! Yes I love Adrian and Damon, and I do see similar traits in them both, though I don't like comparing series usually. Though they are similar.

Adrian has always reminded me of Chuck Bass from Gossip Girl for some reason. The looks, the attitude, the background.

But Damon...now that you mention it Damon would work too. He kind of works for everything!

My mom still watches Days of Our Lives, and there is a guy on there that reminds me of the way Adrian is perceived when he is first introduced; just older. I think his name is EJ. I don't know what it is about the guy. Could be his arrogance and poise. Then again, he could be more like Rose's father...

But yes! Damon has similarities that have always reminded me of Adrian. Just love the underdogs in a love triangle, they are usually the comedic relief :)
