I agree. This was a weak Cross book. But I think Patterson has a formula he uses now. Not much creativity. And Bree is such a two-dimensional personality in most of his books. How can he be madly in love with someone like that?
Patterson is a light weight. Never over 3 stars! I only read this latest one because a friend loaned it to me and wanted to know what I thought. If you want to read something really good, get a copy of "The Black-Eyed Blonde" by Benjamin Black (John Banville--on the short list for a Nobel!!!.
Compared to Benjamin Black, Julia Keller, Kathy Reichs, Jonathan Kellerman, John Lescroart, John D. MacDonald, Ross MacDonald, Raymond Chandler, Michael Connelly, David Baldacci, and James Lee Burke, he is a LIGHT WEIGHT!!!!!
