Leila Summers (leilasummers) | 760 comments Though the library is mentioned in various other posts, I felt that this deserves its own topic. Richard, a member of this group, has spent a lot of time creating, building and promoting a memoirs only library to promote authors in this group and their books. www.memoirsonly.com

If your memoir has received a minimum of at least one 4 star review on either Goodreads or Amazon, you can submit your book to him for addition to the library.

There is also a submissions section for authors waiting to get their first reviews.

Here's the submission details from Richard -

If you like what you see and want to be included please send the following to me at the library email address:
memoirsonly@gmail.com

If you choose to be part of it you will need to send the following to the same email address.

Book cover image (minimum size as close as possible to 350 x 400 JPEG or 300 x 455 GIF)

Author profile

Links to any websites, blogs, Goodreads profile page, any interviews you’ve given, facebook pages/groups and twitter account (include anything else you think might be helpful to promoting your main book).

I live in GA now, but I am an Inna-anna native. Good luck with your workshop.

Faith Colburn (faithanncolburn) | 63 comments Hi Richard, I'm just wondering, if I'm a reader just looking on Goodreads for a memoir, how would I locate the books in the memoir authors' library? I've tried searching for memoirs, but I'm not finding that library.

Hi Faith,

at the moment you'll find it by searching for memoirs only.

Now that the Library is up and running its visibility and popularity is going to be down to all the members pushing it forward and I'm going to be (with Leila's most valuable input) sending out an email to all library members later today.

Faith Colburn (faithanncolburn) | 63 comments Thanks, Richard. I was searching for just Memoirs and not getting our library.

Jeffrey Rasley | 177 comments Thank you, Richard. I have followed several of the suggestions in your recent email and will continue to look for opportunities to promote the Lib. Occasional reminders will be appreciated.

Hi Faith,

Daily 'Hits' on the library nearly doubled yesterday. With that and the daily additions I'll be making I hope it won't be long before it shows up just by searching for memoirs.

Thanks to everyone for their support and Leila for such helpful input.

Hi Jeff,

As soon as I finish 'loading up' everyone's reviews I'll put a link from their page to their page reviews and I'll do a reminder via a tweet.

Next step is to give every book a Chapter/Chapter extract page so I'll have to get in touch with everyone to send their chosen 'advertising'.

I will also rotate the books once a week, to give everyone max exposure.

Thanks for the extra help, it is greatly appreciated.

Nikki Meyer | 17 comments Hi Richard

Thanks again for all that you're doing for us! I will definitely put a posting on my facebook giving the link to memoirs only. I've had quite an exciting bit of news about my book, Game for Anything. A marketing and distribution company in SA, Blue Weaver, have taken it on, and will also be taking it to the London Book Fair :)

Fantastic news & best wishes for success at book fair!

Working on putting together review pages at moment and then move on to Chapter/Chapter extract pages for each author, so I'm sure that by the time the fair is over I will be able to incorporate news such as this somewhere on the site for everyone.

Some of that very fine South African wine might smooth the journey from awake to asleep!

Leila Summers (leilasummers) | 760 comments Richard closed the Twitter account. I think he had too much on his plate just maintaining the library! Those on Twitter can still tweet about the library and include a link to the webpage www.memoirsonly.com. Every bit of marketing helps, as Richard has done us all a great service!

Hi Leila,

Thanks so much again for your support.

I'm pretty much rubbish at the social networking stuff so what I'm actually doing at the moment is pushing the Library forward through the blog, which I've currently loaded up with twice weekly postings (drafts)until the beginning of October - and still loading!

All the members can still share, tweet, send in new reviews and chapters/chapter extracts.

By the way I think the strategy is paying off since I've just checked and Library is #1 page 1 on google search 'memoirs only' and #2 page 1 google search 'memoirs', so any time anyone types either in they're going to find the library right up there.
