I'm new to Goodreads and I'm a first time author. I just wrote a family saga a la Roots meets Joy Luck Club (that's the elevator pitch!)and I've got the writing itch now. I was lucky enough to find an indie publisher, but I'm new to this world. Your group seems to have good taste, so I'm going to hang out and look around. I don't see rules & regs posted and I don't want to offend -- can I add my book to the Bookshelf? Thanks.

My name is Michael Stephenson. I am a fiction novelist of all different genres. I enjoy horror as much as I do Christian or religious fiction. You can click my name to go to my author's page. I really just love good story, as I think that good story and good storytelling is what captivates.

My name is Beverly. I am an avid reader and usually I am reading a couple of books at the same time. I love discussing books and have a very long tbr list that I just keep adding to. I read across many genres and look for a good storytelling, good pacing, great characterizations, and a freshness/uniqueness for a good read.
Beverly, welcome to the group. I know what you mean about the tbr list that just keeps growing. lol

My name is Kisha and I absolutely love to read (like everyone on this site of course). I actually have a book club here on goodreads myself that focuses on African-American Historical fiction and classics https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/.... I see a few of my friends are also part of this group so I feel right at home already!

Hello Everyone,
My name is Caryl. I am the mother of 3, grandmother of 5 handsome and intelligent grandsons, and 1 just as handsome great-grandson. I live in PA, work part-time, and also attend seminary. I've been reading and writing short stories and poetry for as long as I can remember, and can honestly say next to spending time with friends and loved ones reading and writing are my two favorite things to do. Currently I am reading Divas of Damascus Road by Michelle Stimpson and Lucifer by D. Brian Shafer. Two entirely different genres yet both very, very good. Several of my favorite authors include (short list); E. Lynn Harris (RIP), Valerie Wesley Wilson, Terry McMillan, Amy Tan, Grace Octavia, Langston Hughes, Toni Morrison, Zora Neale Hurston, Walter Mosley, Maya Angelou, Alice Walker, BeBe Campbell Moore (RIP), Mary Monroe, and my number one favorite, J. California Cooper.
