I really hate movies after books as well. I wasn't planning to watch the movie after the book and now with your dissapointment, I am 100% determined NOT to watch the movie.
I just don't want the story ruined.

Chay I saw the move way back when it came out and I loved it. I was so enthralled by the story I wanted more. I meant to read the books once I heard that a part 2 wasn't going to happen. Now in 2018 I finally read all four books and I loved them. None compared to the first one but I still loved reading how it all played out. I can see how off the movie was from the books but I still enjoyed the movie, I wouldn't of read the books if not for the movie. I think a tv series would of been the right way to go with this series.

Bethany Jensen the movie was very cheesy, it ruined the series for me
They can't even get Ridley right!

Brandi Hopefully not! The movie was garbage.

Otchen Makai Personally, I loved the book and the movie - but ONLY as separate entities.
However, being as it’s supposed to be based on the book - I absolutely hate the movie /when I compare it to the book.
I feel that Netflix needs to take on the whole series keeping the base characters actors, but redo the whole movie closer to the book and of course include ALL of the books characters.
I loved the actors representation of Ethan, Lena, Macon, Link, Ridley, the cousins and relatives they DID include, and even Amma though she’s younger in the movie. All of the rest of the school cast needs to be recast though.
I think Netflix could do a way better job with not only redoing The Beautiful Creatures with the above suggestion, but also taking on the whole book series.
That’s just my two cents on it.
I want to see the characters I loved in the movie doing the story from the actual book series that I love.
My fingers are crossed that Netflix will see these comments and dive in with that “Challenge accepted” attitude we so love about them.

Unrelated to topic, but mentioned a couple times in the comments from other users;

Side note:
And as far as the mortal instruments goes, I think Netflix could also do a way better job with that whole series vs the family based show that’s currently been done. I like it, but it’s a bit cheesy by comparison.

And totally off topic;
Netflix should pick up and finish Kyle xy while they are it. That show was awesome! Left off on a cliffhanger though.
Soooo bummed without an ending. 😩

it was a great movie

Black Tiger I honestly hope they don't make another movie. The movie was a total cluaterfuck. They mixed parts of the later books in this movie, the characters looked nothing like you think they would from the book (Except Macon, Amma and link.) Ethan seemed to be a total prick to me. He was wasnt right actor to play Ethan honestly. I think they should do what they did to shadowhunters. Had a crappy movie but revamp it to a show that is more accurate and better.

Karen Robins I hope netflixs do a series of beautiful creatures i didn't read the books but I have watched the film and thought the film was good and I was hoping for a follow-up but that didn't happen so it would be good if netflixs do a series.

Jessica Guyton I haven’t read the books. But I really loved the movie. I don’t even know how many times I’ve watched it now. Was really hoping for a sequel. So disappointed there doesn’t seem to be one.
