I agree but i think one thing they should of kept is Macon being a Incubus, i think i spelled that correct.Like the whole book of book 3 is all about Link get use to his new powers and also him and Macon hang out in his study. Also another thing is the world ending thing with Link's mom, in book 3 she thinks that not in book 1. Overall it was a good book

I think Links character needed to be "Cuter" because to me he did not seem like the type of dude who would be surround by girls.

Maddie C. I don't think he was

message 205: by Naomi (new) - rated it 3 stars

Naomi Speakman Beautiful Creatures - the book - bored me to death. So did the movie. I started reading Beautiful Darkness, and I've been halfway through it for about a year O_o

For those who have read City of Bones, the movie would have sucked in comparison, but it would have made more sense as well.

message 206: by Maddie (new) - rated it 5 stars

Maddie C. I really liked the first book but none of the others. But the movie was so bad I was about to destroy the tv

message 207: by Andrea (new) - rated it 5 stars

Andrea I liked all 4 books, my favorite was the last .

message 208: by Naomi (new) - rated it 3 stars

Naomi Speakman Why didn't you like the rest of the books?

message 209: by Maddie (new) - rated it 5 stars

Maddie C. They were so boring and weren't even close to being as good as the first one.

Andrea Maddie wrote: "They were so boring and weren't even close to being as good as the first one."

Second book was depressing, first one was Good, third one was Ok and the last one was amazing but thats my opinion.

Naomi Speakman I didn't particularly enjoy reading City of Ashes, either. City of Glass blew me away. City of Fallen Angels was the worst out of the series. City of Lost Souls is my favourite, because I love Sebastian.

I can see why you like City of Bones the most, though. The first of every series is always the best, because the heroine (like Clary) meets the hot guy and sexual tension is just on fire between them (Clary and Jace alike) and every time Jace so much as grabs her arm it is automatically considered 'sexy', because the two of them barely knew each other and you were constantly poised on your toes wondering what will happen next.

I can't wait for City of Heavenly Fire though

message 212: by Matt (new)

Matt Dedman In all honesty I have read the whole series and when I saw the movie my mind automatically jumped back the the ERAGON movie massacre. If you take a book and make a movie of it but leave out important details that connect to later books then you are going to fail. BEAUTIFUL CREATURES was my most favorite book of all time but the movie did not do it justice. Plus you should never change the ending unless you don't want a sequal which apparently they didnt.

message 213: by Naomi (new) - rated it 3 stars

Naomi Speakman They could make it work, though, if they believed the rest of the series to have potential.
With the adaption of City of Ashes, though, they don't even seem inclined to try

message 214: by Danyon (new)

Danyon bull I haven't read any of the books only the movie and everything made sense every second kept me on the edge of my seat either because I was excited for the two main characters or the action was awesome even the emotional scenes when the uncle dies was great even how they ended it keeping the audience suspense was just great I think it would be awesome if they made all the books into movies it was one of the best movies I have ever watched and all of my friends and family think so well maybe not best but really good and they would watch a second one if it came out

message 215: by Beautiful (new)

Beautiful Creatures I agree, I think the movie was great. But I did just get through reading the series and I think they left out some really important details, which is kinda upsetting because it makes it that much harder to make the rest of the series. Therefore I think a solution to all the people, like me, who want to see it come to life so to say, would be to make it a tv series. Give it to The CW and let them work their magic because they are already quite successful with one tv series that came from a book series, in fact it's probably one of the only times where it's actually better than the book series, and that being Vampire Dairies.

message 216: by Beautiful (new)

Beautiful Creatures I say TV series because it would be able to put practically everything important into each season because of the fact that it can be like 20 episodes a season racking up to roughly around 15 hours of total tv time if you watched them all back to back

Andrea Danyon wrote: "bull I haven't read any of the books only the movie and everything made sense every second kept me on the edge of my seat either because I was excited for the two main characters or the action was ..."

I agree, alot of people say oh that movie was like nothing close to the books. Well guess what people sometimes movies dont have to have all the details that the book has to be good. This movie is one of my faviortes.

Klara Toll Andrea wrote: "Danyon wrote: "bull I haven't read any of the books only the movie and everything made sense every second kept me on the edge of my seat either because I was excited for the two main characters or ..."

I saw it before I read the book, and liked it. Then I read the book and came to be really disappointed in the movie. The movie didn't get the book right and that is why I don't like it. It would have been a good movie on it's own, but not comparing to the book.

yea the movie seriously sucked ass like wth ? these books should just stay as books people need to stop making good ass books into the shittiest movies I mean im just saying lmao

message 220: by janet (new) - rated it 5 stars

janet it took hours of searching on google but i found out there will be another movie! the director or somebody signed a contracted and that means they have to make the 1st 3 movies before they can stop. so beautiful darkness should come out before the end of 2014 unless the contract was broken some kind of way.

message 221: by Maddie (new) - rated it 5 stars

Maddie C. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They already ruined the whole series in the first book! I REFUSE to watch any trailers for it!

message 222: by janet (new) - rated it 5 stars

janet i'm gonna watch the movies and prey they dont mess it up anymore i mean it's gonna be hard to do the rest of the movies beacuse the way i took it they kept the same names and went with a whole new idea it was nothing like the book!

message 223: by Mary (new)

Mary Esperanza Chisom wrote: "i havent seen the movie, but i read the book and im gonna say one thing. If they mess up the movie, im gonna burst into flames"

The movie was good, but the books were amazing. Therefore, the movie had really high expectations to meet. Honestly, the movie didn't portray the story to the fullest (missing/mixed characters, the story line very mixed around). Also, the movie seemed to go at too slow of a pace. But I'm glad I watched it, just to see it and make the judgement for myself. I would watch the sequel. If the director/writers chose to stick to the book's story line/sequence of events more, then the movies would have been a huge hit.

message 224: by Aurox (new) - rated it 5 stars

Aurox I hope not didn't like the movie
I understand what the people who like it say but their where to many flaws in the movie for me to deal with even if they where going to cut some details to make the movie shorter
Main flaws I hated where
Ethan he has medium to short hair blue eyes
And is a wayward but it's not mentioned in movie
Lina duchanes I believe is how u spell it
But in the movie they say ducane and she is pale green eyed an skinny
Emily is all goody goody with Ethan but in the book she's like a japanese anime tsunader and she's always with savanna snow who is white not black
Plus they never prayed
Ethan was killed by sarafine
Larkens was dark
Ryle wasn't in the movie or her little sister
It goes on an on its dissapponting

message 225: by benita (new) - rated it 5 stars

benita I read somewhere that since the first movie didn't go that well, they weren't planning on making a sequel..But I hope they change their minds about it! The books are so good and I kinda like the first movie (many didn't like it..)

Sherri Morris I liked the movie as a stand alone, not comparing it to the book. Like with most book - movie adaptions, some of it is different.

I loved the first book. I still have the others sitting her in my to be read pile, so I can only comment on the first one.

message 227: by Amanda (new) - rated it 5 stars

Amanda Walker I agree with a lot of these reviews. They leave a lot out of the movie. I liked the movie, which I saw first, until I read the books. My philosophy is the books are always better than the movie though. I feel the same way about the Twilight series and the Da Vinci Code just to name a couple. About the only thing I think is just as good as the books is the series Bones based on Kathy Reich's books with Temperance Brennan. I would watch the sequel, but I definitely wouldn't pay to see it in the theater.

message 228: by Kayla (new) - rated it 3 stars

Kayla I hope not. They shouldn't have made the first.

message 229: by Beautiful (new)

Beautiful Creatures They should make it into a TV show like Vampire Dairies so that they would have time to do everything and have all the characters. I think it would be really good

message 230: by April (new)

April Well everyone should know that books are more detailed than a movie. When making movies they have a time frame so something may be cut. I loved the movie and would love to see more. It's no different than twilight or hunger games movies. Things were cut out but the movies were gr8. Everyone has their own opinion. loved the movie!!!!!!

message 231: by Urooj (new) - added it

Urooj Kodwavi I hope they do but I hope they don't because the first one sucked (no offence) I mean it was nothing that I thought it would be like.... :(

message 232: by Courtney (last edited Oct 18, 2014 06:52AM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Courtney If they do, it needs to be better than the first movie. It was so different, it was almost a different story line.

Jessica Leavy The Contract has them enlisted for 3 or 5 years so I haven't heard anything about a new movie but it is a high possibility if it got enough money from the last film.

message 234: by LiLi (new)

LiLi Hathaway Just watched the movie last night but haven't read the book. at first, wasn't sure if I liked it, it was kinda hard to understand what was going on. I found the ending SOOO confusing, had to read the wikipedia plot summary to understand what happened. Someone watching the movie without reading the book, like myself would be confused. It doesn't say that she becomes a half light half dark castor or why and doesn't explain that in the end when Ethan remembers everything, she is freed of her dark side. I was soooo confused! Anyone else confused? I'm sure the book would be better...

It is,trust me.

Kaitlin favreau I love all four books and can't wait to watch the movie

Charlie I usually dislike movie adaptations because they miss things out. With this movie, they CHANGED major plot points and that really annoyed me. It was completely unnecesary.

message 238: by Heather (new)

Heather Supanich the first one was ok but the twilight movie sucked at first and they kept going.beautiful creature was a great series I hope they make another I'm watching it right now

message 239: by [deleted user] (new)

Haven't heard yet

message 240: by Jean (new) - added it

Jean They cut way too much out of the movie. There's supposes to be a song, 16 moon's, that is played over and over depicting Lena and ethan's destiny and it wasn't there.

message 241: by Shawna (new) - added it

Shawna Cañizares hoping tho.

message 242: by Lucina (new)

Lucina Lynch I in all honesty hope the completely redo the first movie before they even think about making a second movie they cut out so many key people like the aunts and and the Librarian (can't think of her name at the moment) But they just made It so fricken easy to find the book of moons when in the book it took forever! and come on they didn't participate in the reenactment they were having a birthday party for Lena! Please if they do think about it REMAKE THE FIRST ONE

message 243: by Oc (new)

Oc I never read any of the books. But I really enjoyed the movie! I did not know allot about this movie did not feel it had enough advertising and if people like me enjoyed it have seen it on one of the movie channels or the actual movie theater I think that a sequel would have a big following. I would actually go to the Movie Theater to see this excellent Whitty and thrilling Movie adventure.

ya i love the movie but the books are better

message 245: by Joana (last edited Apr 18, 2015 03:36PM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Joana Ribeiro I read the book before I saw the movie and I gotta say, I was really dissapointed. For those who didn't read the books I guess it didn't made such a difference, but for me it made. A lot. I was really hoping for more. I think they could have advertised it way more then they did, the movie would have been an absolutely sucess. Even tho I didn't like the first movie that much in the end it isn't that bad, and I could actually enjoy a bit so I really hope they're planing on releasing the 2nd one (and rest of them), since they started they might as well finished I guess...

p.s.: I'm sorry about my english, it probably has some mistakes but I think I made my point.

message 246: by Kathy (new)

Kathy Prosser I totally hope there will be a part 2.... Absolutely loved it !!

message 247: by Amber (new)

Amber Lynn personally i liked the movie.. i haven't read the book
but if you guys are saying the book is wicked good and that the movie sucked, i can only imagine what you guys think of the harry potter movies. Just saying. i mean come on guys not every movie is going to be based on the book. harry potter didn't really have any parts from the book in it. i read all of them and seen every movie. also same goes for the lord of the rings, the books were good but the movies were okay. i can go on a list of books that got turned into movies... that weren't based on the movie sequel. everything is based on opinion, people have opinions if the book is better then the movie or the movie is better then the book. i thought the movie was amazing personally and if they do come out with the second one ill be even more happy.. if they don't then i can finish the plot of the movie myself lol. any how you people have a good day <3 i figured i would put my opinion and my two cents in there.

message 248: by Kaylee A. (new)

Kaylee A. Walters I recently just watched the movie and finished the book. In my opinion, the movie wasn't that amazing and didn't follow much of the storyline. I do, however, hope that they change their minds about making a second movie. I don't like when they make the first movie and then leave you hanging, it's quite sad. As in the past year, the movie has become more and more popular. You see it played on TV and is a widely rented movie on Amazon Instant with at least a 4 star rating. Which is higher than average. So, I definitely hope they make the second movie.

message 249: by Alexander (new)

Alexander Beckers i don't know anymore...

i watched this movie

and it had me going along the entire way

the movie finished

and i cannot begin to describe the feeling i got

it was as if i was questioning my life

i am depressed

i'm questioning if i should fall back into my usual routine of life

i don't have any suicidal tendencie's
it's not that kind of depression

i can't explain it

i'm almost doubting if it has anything to do with the movie or if it is just my life and the movie unlocked this feeling...

i'm scared of returning to my life

i've seen dozens of romantic movies and or fictional

but none have ever touched me like this...

i can't put my mind to it

maybe the movie caught me at a key point in my life

it feels like i'm breaking myself down in a snowballing pattern

i can't figure out if my feeling is even good or bad

i know i'm depressed but i don't know if it's good or bad

i don't know...

message 250: by Elfie (new)

Elfie the cast for the movie was spot on. but I'm sorry the movie was not accurate to the book in a lot of ways. especially the ending of the movie like that never ever happend in the book.
