I don't understand what Logiudice wanted Andy to say that would indict Laurie. What did he mean by saying, "What happened to your son?"

At the end of the book,Laurie killed her son causing an accident on purpose. She drove the car fast and they hit a wall as far as I can remember and Jacob died.
Logiudice knew that she did it on purpose so that's considered as a murder.
That's why he forced Andy to confess that his wife killed their son with their own hands.

Yeah Logiudice wanted Andy to say that Laurie caused this accident on purpose because of the fact that she doubted that Jacob was innocent. Andy didn't want to comment on the fact that Jacob might not have been innocent.

i didn't get what logiudice wanted from andy when he kept repeatedly asking him what happened to jacob. how can andy confirm or not whether laurie did it on purpose or whether something went wrong - he wasn't there. are we to assume laurie confided in andy about what actually happened and that is why logiudice was badgering him in court about it?

I agree with Mariah. Loguidice wanted Andy to say that Laurie believed that Jacob had murdered 2 children because it gives her a motive for killing Jacob and trying to kill herself.
