I clicked the "found this review helpful" link.
HJ wrote: "I have clicked to say I found the review helpful, Johanna. I think we only need 5 or 6 for it to have the highest number of people finding it helpful."Clicked. I was number 12 who found it helpful.

Ouch. It is actually painful to see that.
**In this particular instance, I hasten to add. I dread that people think I would have dropped the ball so badly.

Thank you guys very much.
No project is perfect (Oh my God, I wince every time on Icecapade when I hear Noelle for Noel) but that's seriously not a big deal. A big deal is when multiple listeners are saying something is ghastly and calling me out personally for it.
Oh hell no.

I'm glad we could help at least a bit.

Johanna wrote: "Josh wrote: "Oh my God. I glanced at the reviews for Mexican Heat on Audible and...holy moly.I wish there was a way to warn people that I had nothing to do with that production. NOTHING. I didn't..."
I was so bummed when I listened to the sample, and just KNEW you had nothing to do with it. Especially as I'm one of those unfortunates that had purchased the MP3 version on MLRs site, and regretted it. There was no sample.
But I loved the story. I want it with a better narration, and wish there was something that could be done. I'd write a review to clear your name, but that means I'd have to purchase it again :( I'll just click on Johanna's instead!!

It worked! It's top of the reviews with 14 likes :-) Bravo!!
Oh I'm very glad I waited so long to read Whiskey and Wry so I could listen to Tristan James read it to me."He was the kind of man someone would keep, holding him close until death came for one of them, and Damie's heart twisted at the idea someone else - not him - would have Sionn Murphy's final kiss."
Isn't that gorgeous?
And on the topic of good narrators. I just finished listening to Iggy Toma narrating Second Hand. I love Second hand. It's been my comfort read for quite some time, and it's been reread many times. So when I saw Iggy Toma was narrating it of course I bought it. And aww. So, so lovely. Such a sweet love story :)And it's makes me wanna do a relistening of Love Lesson trilogy.
I started listening to Glitterland the other day and it's brilliant. Nicholas Boulton's voice is absolutely glorious. He has a beautiful voice and his character voices are awesome. It's such an excellent performance. I'm laughing a lot and keep finding myself just standing still listening because it's so engaging. I suppose the inability to do anything else while listening is a sign of a good audiobook. It's pretty perfect and I totally love it so far.
Alison wrote: "I started listening to Glitterland the other day and it's brilliant. Nicholas Boulton's voice is absolutely glorious. He has a beautiful voice and his character voices are awesome. ..."Oh, no.
Now I don't know what to do. Listen to Love Lessons trilogy or go buy Glitterland.
Oh! Both books were so amazing and I've heard from so many people that the audio of both of them is incredible too... I'm in the same boat Ame, let us know which one you choose first - either one will be a win!
Just finished jcp's Body Art. Loved it as read by Gomez. I'm still annoyed with Anton, for some things he did, but otherwise it was really good.

I did read it when it first was published and now I'm enjoying the audio version. I agreee with every glowing recommendation :)
I've just discovered the Finnish pianist Iiro Rantala: http://iirorantala.fi/ His last album "My Working Class Hero" is a tribute to John Lennon.
Here, from this album, Woman, live at Berlin Philharmonie.
Something different: Tears for Esbjorn
This is a bit more ''nervous'', but I like it Freedom, live at his house. Inspired by Jonathan Franzen's Freedom.

If anyone listened to Season One of the Serial podcast, they have posted updates of the most recent court proceedings:https://serialpodcast.org/season-one/...
Ame wrote: "Tristan James does so much for these books with his beautiful narration."Finished it today - he was incredible! His accents were just flawless and I love the way he pronounces toward... like too-ward. Not sure why I found that so sexy but I did.

I've been busy with family stuff since the holidays, followed by a series of computer issues. Two laptops and one desktop all failed on me in the same month. Shiny new computer arrived this week, which is great timing. I'm laid up with a dislocated knee while my husband is in Puerto Rico. I finally have the time and ability to catch up here. Before my husband left, we managed to finish the audio for Jefferson Blythe, Esquire and we loved it! Aaron Landon did a fantastic job. He was a great choice, Josh.
I'm off to pick up new audio books to keep me company while he's away. Sounds like several of you really liked the audio for Winter Kill. I've got to wait for my husband to return before listening to The Boy with the Painful Tattoo.

KC wrote: "Calexico - they're an indie rock band from Tucson; I really like their sound."They got quite famous here a couple of years ago. I like them, I've even got a CD.
History:David Bowie - Starman (Top Of The Pops, 1972) with Mick Ronson
and storiography:
How performing Starman on Top of the Pops sent Bowie into the stratosphere
I was lyin' in my room and the news came on T.V.A lotta people out there hurtin' and it really scares me
Love and mercy that's what you need tonight
So, love and mercy to you and your friends tonight
Brian Wilson - "Love and Mercy"
I also loved the homonymous movie about his life.
Listening to CHERRIES WORTH GETTING by Nicole Kimberling, narrated by Tommy Jordan. Took me time to get into the flow. Loved the novella, but I never pictured Keith with a gritty, gravelly voice and don't get me started on the way Gunther sounded. It was fun catching up with the guys and hearing the story (and giving my tired, bloodshot eyes a rest).

For Shakespeare fans, there is a new modern adaptation with two male MCs titled Romeo and Jude by Marty Ross. It's full cast audio with some famous narrators: http://www.audible.com/pd/Fiction/Rom...
That sounds awesome! Except for the background noises/sound effects. If it was just their voices, I'd totally go for it.

That looks neat. I really enjoy Shakespeare adaptations. Full cast readings are so different from regular narration, but they are often really cool. I really liked the sample.
Sabine wrote: "I listened to Eli Easton's How to Walk Like a Man and the narrator Matthew Shaw is really good."Oh, i didn't know this one was in audio already. Great! :-)
I started listening to Terry Pratchett's Wyrd Sisters, narrated by Celia Imrie, but I think i'll switch to the one narrated by Tony Robinson. I love these books soooo much!ETA: the Tony Robinson one is abridged...so no. Leaves out all the best parts.
This is from Britain's Got Talent 2012, but I've just seen it:The Welsh choir Only Boys Aloud: 133 boys.
They sing the Welsh hymn Calon Lân.
I have a bunch of audiobooks that I haven't listened to. I love the authors and the series and yet NOTHING has captured my interest. I've started and stopped more books than I care to mention. Wail! Sounds like a first world problem doesn't it? Boo! I bought SINNER'S GIN by Rhys Ford a few months ago, and I thought WTH, I'll give this a shot. I started this last night and OMG! Between wonky vision and RL and general mayhem and limited time to read/listen, I've stayed up listening into the wee hours (and paying for it--sucks to get old). Today, I bought the rest of the series in both eBook and audio. Yay, me!
Judy wrote: "I have a bunch of audiobooks that I haven't listened to. I love the authors and the series and yet NOTHING has captured my interest.
