Thanks for posting. Neil Gaiman is an amazing author.
Right now, a podcast about Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. I recently put a podcast app on my tablet and there are so many Star Trek podcasts. Sooooo many. :D
I've just heard the beautiful song Nantes by the group Beirut. More songs here:http://beirutband.com/#
I'm re listening to Adrien English and enjoying it very much! I also just bought a few books for writing inspiration at the recommendation of a friend working on a similar project. Lol, he came to me looking for recommendations similar to The Night Circus for a project he's working on, and now he's recommending those books back to me for my nano novel. :-)
I will be listening to The Ocean a At The End Of The Lane and Mechanique while on my way to and from Seattle!

I'm still not into audiobooks, with the exception of Josh's ones,
From The New Yorker comes “The Comma Queen” video series, which features Mary Norris talking about the finer points of language that come up again and again in our everyday writing. Some of it, no doubt, will come in handy.Norris began working at The New Yorker in 1978, and has served as a copy editor/proofreader for much of that time. Suffice it to say, she can tell you some instructive things about language.
Really well made and entertaining. All the videos are listed here, with subject, usually they last 2 to 3 minutes:

Some of this week's favorites:City and Colour - he has such a gorgeous voice :)
Lover Come Back
The Girl So sweet :)
Sleeping Sickness
Oh Wonder - Really love the whole album...
Drive
Livewire
Landslide
Years & Years
Eyes Shut
I'm listening to the audiobook of The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro. Which is reminding me how brilliant he is and that I should read the other books of his that I haven't read yet. Since he's a literary author not a genre one that's a pretty manageable task. :D I only had to add four things to my To Read, not forty!
I'm listening to a snoring... hummingbird. Warning: keep the volume down (video, 40 seconds):

I've been listening to a fun podcast for music lovers called Switched on Pop. It breaks down popular songs and talks about the craft of songwriting, etc. The first episode is about heartbreak songs, featuring Adele's "Someone Like You" and Kacey Musgraves. There are also episodes about Taylor Swift, Hozier, a cappella and more.

The presenters keep it interesting, and also the titles of the single episodes are witty.
Here is the analysis of Hozier's ''Take Me To Church'' (14 minutes): http://www.switchedonpop.com/?p=236

I have very little musical knowledge or ability (I haven't played an instrument since HS band!) and I still find the episodes super interesting, though some of it goes over my head. :)

Sounds like a great podcast!
I've been listening to Against Me! a lot recently. Here's a few tunes from one of my favourites:I Was a Teenage Anarchist
Transgender Dysphoria Blues

I came across this song on Spotify recently. It made me laugh because David Bowie is awesome and I'm quite fond of him. David Bowie (Save Us All) by The Modern Electric

Then I listened to the rest of the album and I quite liked it. I love it when that happens.

Thank you for all song links, ladies! I'm about to start listening to them when I start a new drawing today. :-)

About them, maybe not everybody knows about the singer. I still remember her ''coming out'' interview:

She's pretty cool. She's done a neat little web series on AOL about trans* stuff called True Trans, which I've been watching recently. All the episodes are under ten minutes and she and others talk about different aspects of being trans* and I found it quite interesting. Look here: http://on.aol.com/shows/true-trans-sh...
I spent much of yesterday listening to Santino Hassell's book playlists on Spotify. There's some cool music there.
Alison wrote: "I spent much of yesterday listening to Santino Hassell's book playlists on Spotify. There's some cool music there."He said that he plans to put it also on YouTube. That will be better for me.
Alison wrote: "I spent much of yesterday listening to Santino Hassell's book playlists on Spotify. There's some cool music there."Thanks for the reminder. I bookmarked one a while back and need to check it out.
A Spotify playlist recommendation from me - Songpickr Best of 2015. There are a bunch more lists on Spotify as well. He describes his list as "Indie, Rock, Singer-Songwriter, Folk, Alternative, Americana, Soul, etc. curated with love". I love most of his picks - great stuff if this matches your taste. He has the list of songs on his website, too, in case you don't use Spotify:

A couple faves I've been listening to a lot:
Son Little - "Your Love Will Blow Me Away When My Heart Aches"

Caleb Caudle - Trade All The Lights

Listened to Stranger on the shore over the weekend. Now I'll always love AE and Kit&Holmes but wow. Stranger on the shore is probably one of the best narrated story I've heard. The narrator does a superb work, I'm amazed by the talent. If you don't have it I suggest you go and get it. Right now.

Now I'm listening to The Thing I Didn't Know I Didn't Know, it's really funny. And I love the narrator, he's got the perfect voice for a just over 20 confused manboy.

Oh! Well, that does sound promising.

I am listening to Incursion by Aleksandr Voinov. One of the first books I'd read by him, so the story is like new.
I'm finding that if I'm not sure I'll like a book, trying it in audio can be the best route. It sort of gives the book an edge.
Of course it depends on the narrator!

Well...Gomez Pugh did a very solid job. And I realized how much I hate that book. :-D
So I'm not sure if that's a win, but if you liked the book, you should be pleased with the narration!
So that is now three books in the quality control channel. Three audio books that will hopefully be out before the end of the month.

Why you hate that book? Because you hadn't enough time to write it? Or do you don't like the protagonists?

Too much true crime research. It has a cold, impersonal feel to it. It reads--to me--like a police report with romantic overtones. :-D

Which is why I'm always hesitant to share these kinds of thoughts, because your feelings are as valid as mine--we have different experiences of every story. There is no way I can experience my work the same way a reader does.
Not even in audio, though it's maybe closer than through print or ebook.
No doubt part of the problem is that book is still pretty new so I clearly remember all the circumstances of it. Whereas the early stories I've been listening to in audio--even Blood Red Butterfly, which is the most recent in that collection--I don't remember almost anything about writing them.

That is perhaps the reason, so many people (me too) want a sequel, so we find out more about the main characters. The book is very athmospheric, more cold like winter.
